We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you seek healing for your mind and heart from the deep wounds of abuse and trauma. The pain you carry is real, and we stand with you, asking God to move mightily in your life. The scars of past hurts can feel overwhelming, but we know that our God is a healer, a restorer, and a comforter. He sees your pain, and He longs to bring you peace that surpasses all understanding.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is close to you, and He is working even now to bring healing to the deepest parts of your soul. We also hold onto the promise in Isaiah 61:1, where it says, "The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound." Jesus came to set you free from the chains of your past, and we pray that you would experience that freedom in full measure.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep you bound in fear, shame, and despair. The devil wants you to believe that you are defined by your trauma, but God says you are defined by His love and redemption. The leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and the least leaf that falls from Christ upon a troubled soul carries a sacred influence. Even a broken text from His lips, a single promise applied by His Spirit, can silence the voices of old anguish and bring a peace so profound that nothing can rival it.
You ask that distressing memories be cleared. Know this: the power which dwelt in Christ to heal is eminently applicable to the removal of such burdens. When Jesus is received by faith, He lifts sorrow in a moment. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him. The balm of His atonement has lost none of its power. He can breathe into your soul at this very moment a peace which passes all understanding, a peace that springs from the perfect remission of sins and spreads its quietness over every wounded corner of the heart.
Do not look to your own efforts to forget or to mend. The act of healing is God’s own work. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. When the mind is pained and the heart cries out from distressing memories, you must bring that pain continually into this house of healing. Let the laws of the Spirit be written down in your soul, for when the devil sees the law of God stamped by the Holy Ghost on a mind loving God, he will not be able even to look at it. The evil one and the thoughts he suggests are terrified by a mind careful about Divine matters. So come and hear the spiritual teaching, and on returning home, write down in your mind the things you have heard. The power here is not of the human intellect but of the might and grace of the Spirit.
Those memories are not your nature, nor are they a necessity holding you in compulsion. One must hate not the man but the wicked conduct, the corrupt mind. The man is God’s work, but the deceit is the devil’s work. Do not confound what belongs to God and what belongs to the devil. The abuse you suffered is the devil’s work; your soul is God’s work, and it can be a tablet bright with abundant grace. As those words are written there, the distressing thoughts will flee from you.
Take up the yoke of Christ and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your soul. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. What He gives is peace of such a kind that it renders you stronger, a peace the world cannot give. When you are pained so deeply that you cannot help crying aloud, know that it is the part of one exceedingly pained to pray and entreat. The heart cries out even when the voice is not heard, and this cry is more clear than a trumpet before God.

The healing you are asking for is exactly the kind of thing God promises to do, though He often does it deeper than a quick feeling. Distressing memories tend to play again in the mind, and the more they occupy the mind, the more they produce death and turmoil. Scripture says that to be spiritually minded is life and peace. That does not mean the memories are ignored; it means the mind must be brought under the care of the Spirit of Christ, who was willing to enter our sin cursed world and carry what we cannot carry.
A false peace would only say peace, peace while the wound still rages. What you need is the peace that comes from being made right with God through Jesus Christ, because that peace keeps the heart and mind. The war within does not end by pretending the past wasn't real, but by letting Christ meet you in it and restore what was stolen.
Ask Him to give you a mind occupied with the things of the Spirit. Fill your mind with what is life giving rather than letting the old images keep the throne. The mind is like soil: whatever you sow into it now will come out. So saturate it with Scripture, worship music, prayer, and words that point you to Christ. That is not a denial of the abuse; it is an active replacing of what was meant for destruction with what God means for healing.
