We have heard your request and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus name for healing for your back and for peace in your home and your marriage.
We first want to gently point out that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation as in Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our healing and peace can come.
We pray for your back. The Lord sees your hard work for your family and He knows the pain you suffered at work today. We ask Him to touch your body and bring healing, for He is the Lord who heals us as in Exodus 15:26 and we are healed by His wounds as in Isaiah 53:5. We pray as in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health to you and heal your wounds, and as in James 5:15 that the prayer of faith will heal the sick and the Lord will raise you up. We also encourage you to seek proper medical care and to allow time for rest as God gives wisdom to physicians and calls us to steward our bodies well, and we pray He will provide for your needs while you recover as in Philippians 4:19.
We also lift up your marriage and your home, for we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that God has joined together and that no man should separate as in Matthew 19:6. Marriage is to be honored and kept pure as in Hebrews 13:4. We hear your hurt when you describe your wife yelling at you when you were struggling to pour water and yelling at other times, and when you feel she makes things harder whether you are working or not. We encourage you not to hold onto bitterness or to be quick to label your wife, even with a word like narcissist, but to guard your heart against resentment. We are called to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from us, and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other as God also in Christ forgave us as in Ephesians 4:31-32. A gentle answer turns away wrath as in Proverbs 15:1, and love is patient and kind and bears all things as in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. We as husbands are called to love our wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her as in Ephesians 5:25 and not to be bitter against them as in Colossians 3:19, while wives are called to respect their husbands, and both are called to dwell with understanding as in 1 Peter 3:7.
We must also lovingly address what you shared about your wife keeps talking about another man. This is serious before the Lord. To entertain another man in heart or conversation while married dishonors the marriage covenant. God has commanded in Exodus 20:14 you shall not commit adultery, and the Lord calls us to be faithful and to guard our hearts and our marriages from even the appearance of unfaithfulness. If there is emotional affection or attention given to another man, that needs to be repented of and forsaken, and we pray your wife will turn from that and that you both will choose faithfulness and purity. We also encourage you not to assume her motives that she wants the upper hand to leave you, but to commit your marriage to the Lord who hates divorce as in Malachi 2:16 and who desires reconciliation and peace.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this brother to You. Touch his back and bring Your healing power upon him, ease his pain, restore his strength, and grant wisdom to those caring for him. Grant him rest and provision and let him feel Your nearness as in Psalm 34:18 that You are near to those who have a broken heart. Pour out Your peace upon his home that passes all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus as in Philippians 4:6-7, and let Your peace rule in that home as in John 14:27. Soften both hearts in this marriage, help this husband to love his wife with patience and grace even when hurt, and help his wife to show respect and kindness and to turn away from any thought or talk of another man and to honor her marriage vows. Teach them to speak to one another with gentleness, to forgive as You have forgiven us, to seek counsel from godly pastors and to pursue unity and not division. Give this brother wisdom as in James 1:5 to know how to communicate, how to set healthy and godly boundaries, and how to trust You with his family and his work. We ask that You would restore what has been strained, strengthen this marriage to honor You, and let Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray, to read the Word daily, to speak with a trusted pastor or biblical counselor about both your injury and your marriage, and to invite your wife to pray with you and seek help together. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as in 1 Peter 5:7, and remember that God is your strength as in Isaiah 41:10. We are standing with you for healing, for peace, and for a marriage that is restored and made strong in the Lord.
