Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your burden and allowing us to pray with you for your little daughter. My heart is with you as you watch her lie in bed with this fever, and I am joining you in bringing her before the Lord right now.
We can come with confidence because we have a great High Priest, Jesus the Son of God, who has passed into heaven itself. He did not take this honor upon Himself, but was appointed by the Father to represent us before God. He is holy, without fault, set apart from sinners and exalted above the heavens, and He lives forever to intercede for us. Because of Him we can hold fast to our faith and come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and help in time of need. He knows our weakness and our sorrow as parents, and He carries our prayers into the presence of the Father.
Scripture shows us His power and compassion toward the sick. He touched the mother of Peter's wife when she was laid low with a fever and the fever left her. He went with Jairus when his little daughter was at the point of death, though the crowd pressed around Him, and He brought healing and life. Evening after evening people brought to Him those who were sick and oppressed, and He healed their infirmities and sicknesses with authority in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm. The Gospel reminds us that through His suffering provision was made not only for our spiritual healing but for our bodies as well, for He bore our sicknesses.
I have seen the Lord touch a child burning with fever as hands were laid on her in prayer, and felt the heat leave and her forehead cool. He is the same today, and He invites us to trust Him as a loving Father who values every child.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift this precious little girl to You. You see her where she lies, You know the fever that has held her these days, and You love her far more than we do. We ask You in mercy to touch her body, to take away the fever, to restore her strength and bring her back to health. Lay Your healing hand upon her and give her rest and wholeness again. Comfort her parents, give them peace as they wait on You, and give wisdom to those caring for her. We trust her into Your hands, asking for Your will and Your mercy, and we thank You that You hear us when we pray through our High Priest Jesus. Amen.
Please continue to seek faithful medical care for her while you pray, and keep bringing your requests to the Lord. He hears, He cares, and He is able. May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him day by day, and may you see His gracious hand upon your daughter.
