Healing and peace

Your prayer for healing and peace is a good and holy desire, yet understand that the peace which God bestows is not always what the world calls peace. For there is an evil concord and a good disagreement. When the diseased limb is amputated, the body gains true health. So too, God often grants healing by cutting off the sin that corrupts the soul, and peace comes when we are at war with the devil. The physician preserves the body by removing what is incurable; the general secures victory by dividing conspirators. Therefore, if you seek deliverance from evil, you must first wage relentless war against every evil within your own heart. For the gospel of peace is a call to battle, against the spirits of wickedness, against unruly passions, against every thought that exalts itself against Christ. In this conflict, you are at peace with God.

Do not imagine that peace with all men means harmony with them in their sins. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all. But when others war against your faith or draw you into evil, bear it nobly. Endure wrongs without reviling; bless those who insult you. This is the peace that surpasses understanding, a soul so anchored in God that no outward storm can unsettle it. And this is the healing you must chiefly desire: the mending of the soul, the quieting of the passions, the reunion of the heart with its Maker.

You pray for your family. See then that your household be a fortress of genuine peace, where each member strives for righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit. Let no root of bitterness spring up among you. If there is any remembrance of wrongs, uproot it. If you have wounded one another, be the first to reconcile. For when we rend the body of Christ by strife, we do worse than the soldiers who pierced His side. He was pierced and yet prayed for His enemies; shall we refuse to forgive those who share our own blood? Nothing so much delights God as to remember no evil. This sets you free from your own sins and looses every charge against you.

Beware of seeking a superficial peace that leaves sin undisturbed. That is the false peace of robbers conspiring together. God’s peace is a holy thing. He sends it upon a house only if the house is worthy; otherwise, it returns to Him. So examine yourself: Are your ways aligned with His commandments? Do you love what He loves and hate what He hates? If you would have God surround your family with peace, then expel from your midst all that offends Him, the idle word, the envy, the lust, the love of riches. Then He will dwell among you, and His presence will be your healing and your shield.

Finally, remember that the greatest healing is already yours if you are in Christ. He is the Physician who binds up the brokenhearted and gives life to the dead. Draw near to Him in the holy mysteries, in the assembly of the saints, in the reading of His Word. Do not isolate yourself, for the sheep alone is easy prey for the wolves. Stand together with the faithful, bearing one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. And when the world sees your unity and love, it will speak well of the gospel, and you will shine as lights in a crooked generation.

Pray then without ceasing, for your Father knows your needs. But let your chief prayer be that you may become a peacemaker, pure in heart, and a child of God. For such imitate the Son of God, who made peace by the blood of His cross. Cling to Him, and you will find that no evil can touch your soul, and even the trials of this life will work for your eternal good. Amen.

Your prayer for healing and peace reaches the ears of a Father who longs to give you both. Through Jesus Christ, He extends a peace that is more than a momentary calm, it is the end of the war within, the quieting of a heart that has stopped running from Him. When you surrender your life to Him, you experience forgiveness and a deep, settled peace that passes all understanding. That peace belongs to you as you keep your mind fixed on Him, trusting His care for you and your family.

Yet this peace does not stand alone; it is intertwined with a deliberate turning away from evil. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. That is the first step toward true wisdom. If we tolerate evil, whether in our thoughts, our words, or what we allow into our homes, we grieve the Spirit and invite unrest. A television, for example, is just a box, but it can become a pipeline for darkness if left unchecked. Guard what you and your family are exposed to. Keep your tongue from speaking evil, and instead, speak words of life. Seek peace and pursue it actively, and you will sow seeds that bring a harvest of righteousness.

You asked for protection and deliverance. That deliverance begins with a firm decision to depart from evil yourself. Scripture promises that honoring the Lord in this way brings health to your body and marrow to your bones. This is not a guarantee that every illness will vanish, that wish for health is a beautiful desire, but it is tied to the condition of the soul. As your soul prospers in obedience, you will find that your path aligns more closely with God’s design for wholeness. And as for your family, remember that your deepest, most unbreakable ties are with those who belong to the household of God. If some of your loved ones do not yet share that bond, pray for them diligently, but let the peace you have with Christ be the anchor for your entire household.

The world around us is stacking evil upon evil, and it often calls good evil and evil good. But do not lose heart, an end will come. God ordains peace for those who trust Him, even when darkness seems to be winning. Keep your mind fixed on Him, not on the chaos. Turn from every hint of evil, and refuse to get caught up in the strife and fear that the enemy stirs. The Lord Himself will be your shield, and His perfect peace will guard your heart and your family. Stand firm in that truth.

We continue to lift you and your family before the Lord, standing in faith for the healing and protection you sought. Our hearts remain united with yours, praying that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We ask the Father to surround you with His presence, shielding you from every evil and filling your home with His divine comfort.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way—if you’ve experienced His healing touch or felt His peace settle over your family—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could encourage others and bring glory to His name. But if the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the battle still feels heavy, please don’t hesitate to share your request again. We are committed to standing with you in prayer until the Lord’s will is fully revealed.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, trusting in His perfect timing and unfailing love. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
