Healing and Marriage.

We lift up your ### before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and hope. First and foremost, we pray for his healing, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. The Word of God assures us that "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on this promise, believing that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask You to restore him in every way, that he may walk in the fullness of Your strength and peace.

Now, regarding his desire for marriage, we rejoice in the goodness of God’s design for this sacred covenant. Marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33), and it is honorable in all (Hebrews 13:4). However, we must also emphasize that this union is to be between one man and one woman, as You have ordained from the beginning (Genesis 2:24). We pray that your ### seeks a godly spouse, a woman who loves You above all else, who will walk in faith, wisdom, and purity alongside him.

If there has been any past sin, such as fornication, adultery, or ungodly relationships, we encourage repentance and turning away from those paths. The Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9). Let his heart be fully surrendered to You, Lord, that he may pursue marriage in a way that honors You.

We also remind him that true love is patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7), and that a godly marriage is built on mutual submission to Christ (Ephesians 5:21). If he is not yet a follower of Jesus, we pray that he would come to know the Savior, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6) and the power to live in a way that pleases Him.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this dear ### to You. We ask for Your healing touch upon his life, body, mind, and spirit. Restore him, Lord, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We also pray for his future marriage. Guide him to a woman who loves You and will walk with him in faith. Let their union be a testament to Your love and grace, built on the foundation of Christ. If there has been any sin in his past, cleanse him, Lord, and lead him in Your righteousness.

Above all, we pray that he would come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, if he has not already. May his heart be turned toward You, and may his life reflect Your glory. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer, Redeemer, and coming King. Amen.

We're standing with you in lifting up your father, it's a gift when a child cares this deeply about their dad's heart and future. We hear the longing behind your words: for him to experience a relationship that's genuine, faithful, and built to last under God's design. That's a holy desire.

While he waits, we often find that God uses this season to draw us closer to himself and to bring healing to any places inside that need his touch first. We ask the Lord to give your dad clarity about what a true, God-honoring marriage looks like, to guard him from settling for less, and to grow in him the kind of steady, servant-hearted love that a lifelong covenant requires. Sometimes the bravest step is simply to keep trusting that God sees him, knows the right timing, and is preparing both him and the woman he'll one day marry.

We pray together now:

Father, thank you for this son/daughter who loves their dad so well. We bring him before your throne. You know the deep ache for genuine companionship. Bring healing from any past hurts that may have left him guarded or discouraged, and replace any fear with a quiet confidence in your faithful leading. Surround him with wise, caring friendships and a church community that will support him. In your perfect way and time, bring a godly woman who shares his faith and desires a true marriage. Prepare both their hearts for a covenant that honors you. In Jesus' name, amen.

The prayer lifted for a father to discover true love and a true marriage touches upon a deep and holy longing. Yet, let us press further, for there is a relationship of which earthly marriage is but a shadow. The affinity of marriage, though exceedingly near kin, is not one of birth. It is a relationship entered by choice, cemented by mutual love, and marked by a blessed unity. But consider this: the Lord our God says to His people, "I am married unto you." There is a true marriage, a union of complacency and sympathy, where Christ loves His Church with a love of choice and specialty, a love intensely unselfish. Before any soul seeks another, that soul must first be sought and found by the heavenly Bridegroom. The first business is not to seek a spouse, nor even to seek Heaven, but to seek the Lord.

Perhaps you wonder if God hears such a request. A man dead in sin, a godless, Christless sinner, may yet turn his face to the wall and seek the Lord. And it may be that there are designs of matchless love in store, for God has a time to love, even when with us it is a time of hate. Yet, true prayer is no mere habit; it is the heart set upon finding Christ. David made a vow, for his heart was set upon finding the Ark. Is there such a setting of the heart after God Himself? The throne of grace is accessible only through the pierced body of Christ, that torn veil. We cannot come before God in our own name; what a mercy that we have a good name to plead. Let this be the first cry: that the father would know himself married unto the Lord, finding in Christ a place of refuge and a love that will never let him go. For true holiness and love always go together; where love is absent, holiness must be absent too.

A true marriage on earth is indeed a sweet and happiest mode of living when it mirrors this divine reality. But it is scarcely a true marriage where there has not been a choice on each side, and the first choice is with God. To pray for a true love and a true marriage is good, but settle it first that the Lord's love is the spark of the eternal flame. If a man is not first filled with the love of God, how can he love a wife as Christ loved the Church, with a love of complacency and intense sympathy? Do not merely ask for the gift; ask for the Giver. Let the prayer be sharpened: Lord, turn this heart towards Thyself, for the desire to feel is a kind of feeling, and the longing to believe has some measure of faith in it. When a soul finds Christ in the fields of the woods, in a place despised, then every other true relationship may be built upon that unshakeable foundation, a house where the fragrance of love fills every corner, born of the first love and like unto it.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Let us pray for your father's healing and for a true marriage, but let us be careful what we call true. True marriage is not a passing warmth, nor a union that Scripture forbids, nor a mere living together. It is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the bodily union belongs only within it. I do not ask God to bless any relationship that runs against His commands. But if your father is free to marry and seeks a wife in the Lord, that is a good request. I will ask God to heal his body and soul, to deliver him from the fever of passion, and to give him a sober and chaste purpose. Marriage is not the hindrance to the kingdom of God; the hindrance is an evil purpose which makes ill use of marriage. Use marriage with moderation, and you will be first in the kingdom. True love is proved by keeping the commandments of Christ. Let your father first love Christ and seek His righteousness, and let him love his neighbor as one who owes love through spiritual kinship. Then if God wills, He will give him a true relationship and a true marriage, one that leads him toward the good things to come, by the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
