We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The pain of betrayal, loneliness, and rejection, especially from those who should love and protect you, is a burden no one should have to carry alone. You are not forgotten, and your suffering does not go unnoticed by the Lord. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). You are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply loved by God, even when it feels like no one else is on your side.
The lies, the cruelty, and the dismissal of your pain are not just wounds inflicted by others, they are injustices that grieve the heart of God. He hates deceit and oppression, and He calls us to truth and justice. "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight" (Proverbs 12:22 WEB). What has been done to you is wrong, and it is right to acknowledge that. You did not deserve this. No one deserves to be treated with such disregard, especially by family. The pain you feel is valid, and it is okay to name it for what it is.
Yet we must also address the hatred in your heart, for it is a heavy weight that will only deepen your suffering if left unchecked. Hatred toward your family, or anyone, is a poison that harms you far more than it harms them. Jesus taught us, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This does not mean you must stay in harm’s way or pretend the wrongs done to you are acceptable. But it does mean that harboring bitterness will only chain you to the very people you wish to escape. Forgiveness is not about excusing their behavior; it is about freeing yourself from the grip of their cruelty. It is a process, and it may take time, but it is the path to true healing.
You have prayed, begged, and pleaded for understanding and forgiveness, yet it seems your cries have gone unanswered. We want you to know that God has heard you. He collects every tear and records every unspoken prayer (Psalm 56:8 WEB). The silence you feel from others does not mean God is silent. He is working, even when you cannot see it. And while it may feel like you have no one, you are not alone. The Lord promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). There are also believers who care for you, even if you haven’t met them yet. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB), and we stand with you in this.
Your desire to leave is understandable. If your family is a source of ongoing harm, emotionally, spiritually, or even physically, it may be necessary to create distance for your own well-being. The Bible does not require you to endure abuse or toxicity in the name of "family." However, we urge you to seek wise, godly counsel before making such a decision. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (WEB). This could be a trusted pastor, a biblical counselor, or a mature believer who can help you discern the next steps. If you are in immediate danger, please reach out to local authorities or a domestic violence hotline for protection.
You mentioned praying, but we must ask: Have you placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? The pain you are experiencing is not the end of your story. Jesus came so that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). He is the only one who can truly heal your wounds and give you the strength to move forward. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). In Him, you will find a love that never fails, a family that will never abandon you, and a purpose that transcends your pain.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is hurting so deeply. Lord, You see every lie that has been told, every wound that has been inflicted, and every tear that has fallen. You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon their soul. Comfort them in their loneliness and remind them that they are never alone, for You are with them.
Father, we ask that You would soften their heart toward forgiveness, not for the sake of those who have hurt them, but for their own freedom. Help them to release the bitterness and anger that threatens to consume them. Give them the strength to set boundaries where needed and the wisdom to know when to walk away. Provide for their every need, Lord, and surround them with people who will love them as You do.
We pray for their family, Lord. If there is any hope of reconciliation, we ask that You would work in their hearts as well. But if not, we trust You to be their family, their protector, and their provider. Help them to see themselves through Your eyes, as a beloved child, fearfully and wonderfully made.
Most of all, Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You. If they do not yet know You as Savior, reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them experience Your love, Your peace, and Your presence in a tangible way. Be their refuge, their strength, and their hope.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to cling to God’s promises. Write them down, speak them aloud, and let them be the anchor for your soul. Here are a few to hold onto:
- "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1 WEB)
- "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7 WEB)
- "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 WEB)
You are not defined by the cruelty of others. You are defined by the love of Christ, and in Him, you have a future filled with hope. If you need practical help, whether it’s finding a safe place to stay, connecting with a biblical counselor, or simply someone to talk to, please reach out to a local church or a trusted ministry. You do not have to walk this path alone. We are here for you, and more importantly, God is here for you. Keep pressing into Him. Your breakthrough is coming.
