We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious grandson William to our Heavenly Father. We recognize the deep love you have for him and the pain you feel as you watch him struggle. The Word of God tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We stand on this promise, believing that God sees William’s suffering and will draw near to him in his time of need.
First and foremost, we pray for William’s salvation. There is no greater gift than knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and we plead with the Holy Spirit to convict his heart. Romans 10:13 declares, "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." We ask that God would soften William’s heart, open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and reveal Himself to him in a powerful and personal way. May he come to understand that his worth is found in Christ alone, not in the treatment he receives from others or the challenges he faces. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be telling him he is unwanted, unloved, or unworthy. Instead, we proclaim over him the truth of Zephaniah 3:17, "Yahweh your God is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing."
We also pray for supernatural protection over William. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask You, Lord, to place a hedge of protection around him, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Guard his mind from the lies of the enemy and the negative influences that may surround him. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." We claim this promise for William, trusting that Your angels are encamped around him, keeping him safe from harm.
We are deeply concerned about the treatment William is receiving from his mother. Scripture is clear that parents are called to nurture and care for their children, as Ephesians 6:4 instructs, "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." We pray for your daughter, that she would recognize her need for help and turn to the Lord for healing and restoration. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We ask that God would intervene in her life, soften her heart, and lead her to seek the help she needs, whether through counseling, medical treatment, or the support of the body of Christ. We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you, as his grandmother, to know how to best support William during this time.
We rebuke the spirit of despair that may be trying to take hold of William. The enemy wants him to believe that his life has no purpose, but we declare that God has a plan and a future for him. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that William would come to know this truth and that God would reveal His purpose for his life. May he find hope in Christ and the strength to endure this season with faith.
We also lift up your heart, dear one. It is clear that you carry a heavy burden for your grandchildren, and we want to encourage you with the words of 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." God sees your tears, hears your prayers, and collects every one of them in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not alone in this battle. We pray that God would fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and give you the strength to continue trusting Him, even when the circumstances seem impossible. Lean on Him, for He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of love and concern for William. Lord, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Open his eyes to see Your love, his ears to hear Your voice, and his heart to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. We pray for supernatural protection over him, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Place a hedge of angels around him, Lord, and guard his mind from the lies of the enemy. We rebuke the spirit of despair and declare that You have a purpose and a future for him.
Father, we also lift up his mother to You. We ask that You would soften her heart and lead her to seek the help she needs. Give her wisdom, Lord, and surround her with godly counsel and support. We pray for healing in their relationship and for Your peace to reign in their home.
Lord, we ask that You would comfort and strengthen this grandmother who loves her grandchildren so deeply. Fill her with Your peace and remind her that You are in control. Help her to trust You with every detail of their lives, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are at work, even when we cannot see it. May Your will be done in William’s life, and may he come to know You as his Savior and Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
