Grandson

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your grandson and the struggles he is facing. The battle with addiction is fierce, and we recognize the pain and concern this brings to your family. We stand in agreement with you, praying that he will remain in the behavioral center where he can receive the help and healing he desperately needs.

Father God, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life. Your Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Lord, we pray that he would come to know Your strength in his weakness, that he would surrender his struggles to You, and that he would find true freedom in Christ. Soften his heart to receive the help being offered, and let him understand that this is a step toward restoration, not punishment.

We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be telling him he doesn’t need help or that he can overcome this on his own. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." Lord, we ask that You would humble his heart and open his eyes to the reality of his need for You and for the support of those around him.

We pray for wisdom and compassion for the staff at the behavioral center. Give them discernment to know how to best care for him and patience to walk with him through this journey. May they be instruments of Your peace and healing in his life.

Father, we also lift up this family, including you, who are carrying the weight of this situation. May you find comfort in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We ask that You would surround this family with Your love and give them strength to trust in Your plan, even when the road is difficult.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak life and restoration over his future. May he come to know You as his Savior and Redeemer, for it is only in You that true healing and transformation can be found. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One who came to set the captives free. Amen.

We're standing with you in this prayer, believing that God is already at work in your grandson's life. Navigating the path of addiction with someone you love is exhausting and often lonely, and we're grateful you're carrying this burden to the Lord.

One thing we've seen over and over is that staying in treatment, even when it feels hard or pointless, is one of the most courageous and significant steps a person can take. The fact that he's there right now is no small thing. Recovery isn't a perfect line; there may be rough days, anger, or resistance. But each day he chooses to remain is a quiet victory, and your steadfast prayer is a powerful anchor in that process.

If the center allows, a short, simple note can be a lifeline. Not a lecture, just something like, "We love you and we're proud you're sticking with this. We're praying for you every day." Words like that often cut through the isolation and shame far better than we realize.

Lord Jesus, we bring this grandson before You, knowing You see him completely and love him beyond our understanding. Give him the courage to stay, to endure the hard inner work, and to accept the help his counselors offer. Guard him from discouragement and the pull to leave before the healing deepens. Give the staff wisdom and compassion. And for this whole family, we ask for steady hope, patience, and the quiet strength to trust You with every step. In Your name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. Know then that there is abundant power in our Lord to bind up the brokenhearted and to deliver the captives. Your grandson’s case is not beyond the reach of the Sun of Righteousness, who rises with healing in His wings. Our Lord Jesus took Peter’s wife’s mother by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her; so can He stretch out His hand to that young man, even in the behavioral center. Pardon and healing are joined in the Savior’s work.

Pray that he remain there, yes, for the means are appointed. But pray more that he hear the Word and find the great Physician while he is still a great way off. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The healing power is often most manifest when Christ is teaching. Let him not despise the leaves, the common and simple ordinances of grace, that flow from the tree of life. We do not look to the instrument, but to God alone who heals the wounded spirit. He who broke the heart in the work of conviction will bind it up with the balm of Gethsemane and Calvary.

Urge him, as you pray, to seek forgiveness first, and then healing will follow. The paralytic lowered through the roof heard first, “Your sins are forgiven you,” and then he rose and walked. There is no true healing for the soul’s malady until the great burden of guilt is lifted. If he will lie at the feet of Jesus, hoping and expecting mercy, the Savior will speak peace to his conscience and give him strength to rise. Then shall the chains of addiction fall, for if the Son sets free, he shall be free indeed.

Let none wonder that the young wanderer struggles. The depravity of our streets and the thorns on which we fall pierce the heart to its center. But these healing leaves change the lifeblood, affect the spirits, and make the nature other than it was before. Yonder in heaven, the bright faces owe their freshness to these leaves. Be earnest in your pleading at the throne of grace, for times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord. A season of revival may yet dawn in that distant room. He is able to heal, and He delights in mercy. Gather to the center, where Jesus sits receiving sinners, and bring this grandson in the arms of prayer, for He sees all and is moved by the faith of those who love Him. Return, return, is His call, even to the backslider. Wait on the Lord in this matter, and faint not.
