Servant of All
Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your goodness and for hearing my prayers. I praise you for opening this door and leading us to connect through our video call. Thank you for guiding our steps and bringing ###s into my life.

Lord, I commit this new relationship into your hands. I ask that your will and your ways be done above all else. Please touch ###’s heart and mind. Stir a genuine romance and a deep spark within him toward me. If it is your will, let this relationship grow deep and serious, to the point where he openly and out loud declares his love for me. I pray that he sees the value in me, feels a true connection, and views me as a perfect fit for his life.

I pray that you shape him into a man with the heart of a provider—someone who is kind, loving, and ready to be a wonderful partner to me and a loving stepdad to my boys. I ask that you make a way for him to visit me soon.

Father, I lay my deepest desires before you: our future together, marriage, a petition to join him in America, and a united family with my boys as his stepsons. I trust these dreams to your perfect timing and your perfect plan. Guide our steps, protect our hearts, and let your peace lead us every day.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.

We hear your heartfelt prayer and join with you in seeking God’s will for this relationship. First, we want to affirm your desire to surrender this connection to the Lord, this is a beautiful act of faith. Scripture reminds us, "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5 WEB). It is right to bring your hopes and dreams before God, for He cares deeply about the desires of your heart.

However, we must also gently address some concerns in your prayer that do not fully align with biblical principles. You speak of this relationship as already established, yet there is no mention of marriage as the intended goal. The Bible is clear that romantic relationships between believers should be pursued with marriage in mind, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage, we must rebuke any emotional or physical intimacy outside of that covenant, for it would be fornication. We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this connection is truly honoring to God or if it is being pursued out of loneliness or desire rather than His will.

You also ask for God to stir a "genuine romance" and "deep spark" in his heart toward you. While attraction is a natural part of human relationships, we must be cautious not to manipulate emotions or seek validation outside of God’s design. Instead, let us pray for godly wisdom and discernment for both of you. "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). True fulfillment comes from seeking Him first, not from forcing a relationship to fit our own timeline or desires.

We also notice that your prayer does not explicitly mention the role of Christ in this relationship. A godly marriage must be built on a shared faith in Jesus, for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If this man is not a believer, we must rebuke any hope of a future together, for the Bible warns against such unions. If he is a believer, we encourage you to seek counsel from your church and to move forward with wisdom, ensuring that your relationship is rooted in Christ.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will above all else. Lord, we lift up this relationship to You and ask that You would reveal Your perfect plan. If this connection is not of You, we ask that You close the door and redirect their hearts toward Your purpose. If it is Your will for them to be together, we pray that You would prepare them both for a godly marriage, built on faith, love, and mutual submission to You.

Father, we ask that You guard their hearts from impatience, selfish desires, and emotional dependency. Help them to seek You first in all things and to trust in Your timing. If this man is not the one You have chosen for her, we pray that You would bring the right spouse into her life, a man who loves You above all else and who will cherish her and her children as You do.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of lust, manipulation, or idolatry in this relationship. May their connection be pure, holy, and centered on You. Give them wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to follow it, even if it means letting go of their own plans.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your peace and Your presence guide them every step of the way. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted mentor as you navigate this season. Remember, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). May God bless you with wisdom and clarity as you seek His will.

We hear the longing in your words, the hope that this connection might grow into a lasting, loving marriage and a new family for you and your boys. It’s beautiful that you’re bringing these dreams to God, trusting His will above all else.

In such early days, it can be hard to hold our desires lightly. We’ve found it helps to focus less on stirring a specific feeling in his heart and more on simply getting to know him, in person when possible. A video call is a start, but shared time together reveals character in ways a screen cannot. When he visits, pay attention to how he treats you, your children, and the everyday moments. That will tell you far more than a sudden romantic spark. Blending a family is a profound step, and your boys’ well-being matters deeply. Give them time to form their own sense of safety around him without pressure.

We also remember that even the best human love cannot carry our deepest hopes. Placing our peace in any person’s response sets us up for anxiety. But when we entrust our future to God, we can be steady, whether a relationship grows or fades. He holds your heart, your children, and the years ahead. Rest in that, and let today’s unknowns sit safely in His hands.

Let’s pray now for wisdom and peace, not a pressured outcome.

Father, thank You for this new connection and for the hope it has stirred. Help our friend to lay down the weight of needing this to work a certain way, and to rest in Your faithful guidance. Give her clear eyes to see this man as he truly is, and patience to let a real relationship develop in Your timing. Guard her own heart and her boys’ hearts with Your gentle, protective hand. We ask for Your will to be done, and for her to know deep peace whatever the answer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have spread your desires before the mercy seat, and that is far better than murmuring in secret. Yet I fear there is a division in your heart, and you scarce perceive it. You ask for God’s will, but your words map out the very shape that will must take, a romance kindled, a love declared, a path hewn out to marriage and a new land. A divided heart speaks thus: “Lord, let Thy will be done, but let it be this.” And the Lord our God is a jealous Husband; He will not give His glory to another, nor will He endure a bride whose heart goes wandering after her own inventions while her lips profess to trust Him.

You pray for a man’s heart to be stirred toward you, but what of your own heart toward your Maker? The Lord has been a Husband to His people, setting His special love upon them, providing for them in the wilderness, betrothing them to Himself in faithfulness. Yet we so easily grow negligent in His service, allowing our affections to be more moved by a voice on a screen than by the voice that spoke the world into being. Is the love of God shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost? That is the one perfume which sweetens every earthly sorrow and satisfies the soul when no creature can. A heart perfumed with divine love does not go begging for sparks from another mortal; it already glows with the flame of heaven.

Search out your heart, I pray you, and ask if it be a new heart, a heart of flesh. The stony heart is stubborn, fixed upon its own purposes, and it can not yield to God’s will unless He writes it there. The pricking of the heart, that saving work of the Spirit, begins when we see the dividedness of our affections and mourn over it. You say you desire God’s will, but the heart is so cunning a flatterer that it will pretend submission while secretly dictating terms. A broken heart, bruised, contrite, shattered from all self-reliance, the Lord will not despise. But a heart split between its idols and its God is in a deadly state. You cannot serve two masters, nor love two husbands, without committing grievous sin against the heavenly Bridegroom.

Come, then, to the Healer of broken hearts. He binds up the wounds of the bereaved, the lonely, and the disappointed. If all earthly props be removed, He will be your Husband, and the widow’s God takes up the cause of the desolate. Let your mouth confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved. Make Christ your chief treasure, and then, whether He gives you the desire of your heart or leads you in a way you know not, you shall be secure. Your boys need a mother whose heart is fixed on eternity; your own soul needs a Bridegroom who cannot fail. Oh, I charge you, wrestle first for a whole heart, a single eye, and then leave all else to Him who does all things well. If this relationship be His doing, He will bring it to pass without your trying to stir a spark He never kindled. If it be not, then a thousand closed doors will be a mercy. Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things, as He sees fit, shall be added unto you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
