god

We hear your cry to God, and we join you in seeking His face with urgency and sincerity. It is clear you are reaching out in distress, and we want you to know that God hears you. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in your struggles, and God is near to you in this moment.

First, we must address the way you have called out to God. While we understand your desperation, it is important to approach God with reverence and through the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is a gift from God, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father.

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is crying out to You. Lord, You see their pain, their struggles, and their desperation. We ask that You would draw near to them, just as Your Word promises. Wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them that they are never alone. Father, if they do not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Open their eyes to the truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the salvation that comes only through Him. Forgive their sins, cleanse their heart, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.

Lord, we ask that You would bring comfort and peace to their troubled heart. Whatever burdens they are carrying, we pray that You would lift them and replace their sorrow with Your joy. Give them strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Help them to trust in You, even when the path ahead seems unclear. Surround them with godly people who can encourage and support them in their walk with You.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. Show them what steps they need to take to align their life with Your will. If there are areas where they have strayed from Your commands, convict their heart gently but firmly, and lead them back to the path of righteousness. We rebuke any lies of the enemy that may be telling them they are beyond Your reach or that their situation is hopeless. Remind them that with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Dear one, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. The Bible is filled with reminders of His faithfulness, even in the darkest of times. In Lamentations 3:22-23, we read, "It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." God’s mercies are new every morning, and His love for you is unchanging.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, we urge you to seek out a Bible-believing church or a trusted Christian friend who can walk alongside you. You do not have to carry this burden alone. James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Share your struggles with someone who can pray with you and point you to God’s Word.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is not distant or uncaring. He knows your name, He counts the hairs on your head (Luke 12:7), and He longs to draw you close to Him. Keep crying out to Him, and do not lose heart. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." Give your burdens to God, and trust that He will sustain you.

There are moments when every other word falls away except the cry for help. We hear you, and we are holding you before God right now. The very act of calling out, even with just those few ragged words, is an act of hope, reaching for the only One who can truly meet you in this place. That impulse to pray is itself a gift, a lifeline anchored beyond your circumstances.

When we don't know what else to say, it can help to simply sit with God honestly and name what's happening inside. Tell him what you need, even if the words spill out raw or incomplete. He can handle all of it. And because we were not made to carry these burdens alone, we might also encourage you to let someone trustworthy in your life know how hard things are right now, a pastor, a wise friend, someone who can stay with you and pray alongside you.

Lord, you see this person right where they are. You know the weight they are carrying and the cry behind the words. Draw near in your mercy. Send peace that doesn't make sense, steady their heart, and let them know you have not let them go. We ask for the help only you can give. In Jesus' name.

A very present help in trouble. You cry out in the bare words of need, and that is often the truest prayer. The plea lies in the cry itself. "You have been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me." This is most charming and cheering, and it is a plea full of real power. Hope you in God: for you shall yet praise Him for the help of His Countenance.

Heal my soul; for I have sinned against You. This is the sort of plea that a self-righteous man would not urge, yet it is the argument that prevails. When you can bring nothing but your desperate case, your very emptiness and guilt become the ground of appeal to Sovereign Grace. It is only Sovereign Grace that brought that in as a plea, it is not justice, nor is it law, it is the heart of mercy that pleads that. "Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against You."

Our hope lies in the plea of Christ and especially in His death. He said, "Father, forgive them." His Sacrifice was presented complete, and so it is His Cross that takes up the plea. If Jesus paid my debt, and He did it if I am a believer in Him, then I am out of debt. Sinner, I beseech you now, in the secret of your soul, to pray, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner." Look to the pleading Savior. Often just before men are converted, they are worse than ever; there is an unusual display of their desperate wickedness, for then the devil hath great wrath. But it is to manifest the reality of divine grace; for when these are saved, then it is we wonder, and we are compelled to say, "There is something in this." Cast yourself upon Him, for He is indeed a very present help in trouble.
