GOD i'm lost

You think you have lost your way, but it is in crying out that you have already begun to find it. The soul that feels itself far from God and grieves is not lost; it is the soul that laughs and is at ease in its wanderings that stands in peril. You pray for strength, wisdom, and courage. This is good, but know where true wisdom lies. The world's wisdom is folly, and God has made it so. He hides these things from the proud and reveals them to the humble. The Cross, which seems weak and contemptible, is the very power and wisdom of God. Do not seek a clever escape from your trials; seek Christ crucified, and you will find a strength that the world cannot give.

You mention your rental arrears. These earthly debts press upon you, and I do not dismiss your anguish. But I ask you: what are these compared to the debts we owe to God? You fear eviction from a house of stone; do you not tremble at the thought of being shut out from the eternal dwelling? Let this temporal trouble drive you not to despair, but to a holy fear. God permits such tribulations to wake us from our sluggishness, to teach us that here we have no lasting city. Do not cling to this world as if it were your home. Send your treasures ahead by mercy and repentance. The Lord who sees your need is not deaf to the cry of the contrite, but He hears not sinners who remain in sin. Weep for your sins, not merely for your hardships. True mourning for our offenses softens the Judge's sentence. When you stand before a king, you dare not smile idly; how much more when the Lord of angels dwells within you? Repentance turns away wrath. Sigh, and the sentence is annulled.

Do not say, “I am too weak to return.” God does not demand impossible labors. He has not called you to live without food or to strip yourself of every possession, but to use what you have with thanksgiving and to share with those in need. To despise slander, to flee vainglory, to refuse envy, these require no wealth, only a willing heart. The burden is light, yet we treat it as heavy because we love our ease. Let the trial of your rent become a training ground for courage. Do not let your laughter return too quickly; let there be a godly sorrow that braces the soul. Remember the mystery: the soul that departs this life in a pure conscience goes forth in joy, brighter than the sun. But the sinner’s death is a terror. Make your accounts right with heaven, and earthly accounts will find their proper place. Seek first the kingdom, and these things shall be added. God is not far from you; He waits only for you to cease trusting in your own resources and to rest in the foolishness that is wiser than men, the power that is made perfect in weakness.

Your cry carries the ache of someone who knows exactly where they belong but can’t seem to find the path. That feeling of being lost is the deepest kind of poverty, and you’ve named it honestly before God. What you need to know right now is that the Shepherd is already moving toward you. The moment a sheep wanders beyond sight, it has no instinct to guide itself home. It can’t retrace its steps or sniff out the fold. Its only hope is that the shepherd will come. And he does. He leaves everything to search until he finds that one, and when he hoists it onto his shoulders, he doesn’t scold it. He rejoices. All of heaven erupts in joy over one sinner who turns back. That is what waits for you.

Trials have a way of stripping us down until we have nothing left to cling to. Rental arrears hang over your head like a weight that won’t let you breathe. God may allow the pressure that cuts off every false strength so you’ll learn to depend on Him entirely. Sometimes He removes the things we leaned on when He’s calling us back to the place where we first met Him. Think of it as a call to Bethel, the spot where the awareness of His presence was vivid, where prayer was urgent and real. He’s not asking for a flawless return. He’s asking you to dwell there again, to build an altar out of your helplessness, and to say, “You kept Your part; I’m coming back to keep mine.”

There’s no need to hide or delay. The way is open because Jesus endured scourging for you. He gave His back to the smiters so you could come boldly to the throne of grace and find mercy for this exact moment of need. Your situation isn’t too messy for Him. If there is any yearning in your heart to get right with God, that’s proof the door is wide open.

He sets before you today the way of life and the way of death. One path tries to fix things from your own dwindling strength, and it always leads further into the thicket. The other path is a simple, determined turn of the heart back toward the Father. Let this financial crisis become the threshold where you stop running. Bring your arrears, your fear, your sense of failure, and lay it all before Him. He is not standing with arms crossed, ready to condemn. He is scanning the horizon, ready to celebrate. The party waits. Come home.

GOD I don't even know what to pray about anymore. After all the hurt and pain, I'm lost for words. I've prayed, I've cried, and I've trusted and the pain I still feel from my ex husband's betrayal doesn't seem to fade away. GOD what do you want me to do now?
