Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

Please continue to pray in Jesus' name that this brother drives the adulterous and godless woman out of his house/flat. Do not persecute those who pray for him and encourage him to follow God. To God be the glory who is Holy forever.

We stand before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an ungodly marriage. The Word of God is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother, though born again, has bound himself to an adulterous woman, and this union does not honor the Lord.

We must first rebuke the sin that has taken root in his life. Fornication is a grievous offense against God, and entering into marriage with an unbeliever, especially one living in adultery, is a direct violation of Scripture. The Lord declares, "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). This brother must repent and turn away from this unholy union, for the Lord does not bless what He has not joined together.

Yet, we also cling to the promise of restoration found in Hosea 2:19-23, where God declares His unfailing love for His wayward people. Even now, the Lord longs to betroth this brother to Himself in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart, leading him to cast out the adulterous woman from his home and sever all ties with this ungodly relationship. "Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you" (2 Corinthians 6:17).

We pray that this brother would humble himself before the Lord, confessing his sin and seeking forgiveness. May he remember the words of 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Let him not harden his heart but turn back to the Father, who waits with open arms.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up this brother, asking that You would break the chains of sin that bind him. Lord, we pray that You would reveal to him the seriousness of his actions and the need for repentance. Convict his heart, Holy Spirit, and lead him back to the path of righteousness.

Father, we ask that You would give him the strength to remove the adulterous woman from his home, as Your Word commands. Grant him the courage to stand firm in his faith, even if it means facing persecution or loneliness. May he find comfort and strength in Your presence, knowing that You are his refuge and fortress.

Lord, we pray for restoration, not just of his relationship with You, but of his life and future. May he seek a godly spouse, one who loves You and walks in Your ways, so that their marriage may be a testimony to Your glory. We declare that he is not beyond Your reach, for You are a God of mercy and grace. As it is written in Joel 2:25, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."

We also pray for those who are interceding on his behalf. Protect them from discouragement or persecution, and fill them with Your peace as they stand in the gap for this brother. May their faith be unwavering, and may they continue to lift him up in prayer, trusting in Your perfect will.

Father, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach You. We trust in Your promises and declare that this brother will return to You, that he will know You more deeply, and that he will walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life. To You be all the glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.

We are grateful you brought this brother before the Lord with such care and persistence. It is a heavy burden to watch someone you care about drift from his faith and make painful choices, and to keep interceding when you cannot control the outcome. Your faithfulness in prayer matters.

We join you in lifting him to the Father. We are asking that he would be drawn back into close fellowship with Jesus, that he would have clarity and courage to seek God's will for his life and his home, and that he would be surrounded by steady, trustworthy voices who can walk with him in accountability and grace. Restoration is rarely instant. It often takes time, honest community, and a willingness to stay close to the Lord even when the path is difficult.

If he is open to it, gently encouraging him toward a trusted pastor or mature believer for ongoing support can be a helpful next step. And as you continue to pray, we pray you also find strength and peace as you entrust him to God.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. Draw him close to Yourself, strengthen his faith, and give him wisdom to discern Your will and to walk in it. Bring healing where there has been hurt, guard the dignity and safety of everyone in that home, and lead each heart toward Your mercy and truth. Guide him day by day and give our friend who is praying continued hope and trust in Your holy plan. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for this brother has been brought before the throne of grace, and we join you in lifting him up in the name of Jesus Christ, through whose precious blood alone we draw near unto God.

We do not come to plead any merit of our own, but the merit of Him who is Himself God and who gave Himself for sinners, the Just for the unjust, to bring us to God. It is only through that blood that our nearness to God is made possible at the mercy seat, and it is only through that blood that this brother may find both repentance and remission of sins.

You have well cited the word of the Lord by Hosea, I will betroth you to Me forever, yea, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy, in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord. This is the wonder of divine grace, that God betroths a sinful people to Himself, not because we are worthy, but because He is merciful. Yet this very goodness is meant to lead us to repentance. He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and spares life and prolongs days, saying as it were to death, Spare him, for he is Mine, I intend to save him. If this brother has been preserved even in his wandering, let him hear in that preservation the call of God to turn again.

We pray that God will grant him that repentance which is the gift of Christ, for Christ is exalted on high to give repentance and remission of sins. We do not preach a repentance drawn up from the depths of our own heart as water from a well, but that which the Holy Spirit works in us through faith in the truth. True repentance, as we have often taught, is a hatred of sin and a turning from sin and a determination in the strength of God to forsake it. It gives glory to God, it looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, and it leaps for joy at the thought that God has set forth Jesus to be a propitiation for sin.

Therefore we pray in this manner. O Lord, according to Thy lovingkindness and tender mercies, have mercy upon this brother. Grant him godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, that he may hate the sin of fornication and adultery which has distanced him from Thee, and that he may forsake every unholy way. Grant him faith, for without faith it is impossible to please Thee, and he that comes to God must believe that Thou art, and that Thou art a rewarder of them that diligently seek Thee. Let his faith be unwavering, not in himself, but in Jesus Christ Thy Son, the one Saviour, through whom alone salvation is found.

Teach him Thy will concerning marriage and purity, for Thou hast ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and hast appointed that sex and the living together of man and woman belong within that covenant alone. Convict him where he has been unequally yoked or has walked contrary to Thy holy Word, and give him grace to choose henceforth that which is according to Thy testimony. Where there is sinful union, give him courage to put away sin and every occasion to sin, and to walk in holiness and chastity before Thee. Lead him not by his own passion nor by the counsel of the world, but by Scripture and by wise and godly counsel in the church, that whatever step he takes may glorify Thee and accord with Thy justice and mercy.

We pray also for restoration, not to a broken relationship as the world counts restoration, but to fellowship with Thyself. May he know that to repent of sin is the most delightful necessity, and to follow after holiness the most blissful pursuit. May he look to Jesus upon the cross, as Israel looked to the brazen serpent, and by that look live. May he find that Thou art near to them that are of a broken heart and a contrite spirit, and that the sacrifices Thou wilt not despise are a broken spirit and a contrite heart.

We ask that Thou wouldst guard those who intercede for him, and let no persecution or discouragement turn them aside from praying and encouraging him to follow Thee. Let all be done in love and truth, seeking his eternal good.

We leave him in Thy hands, trusting that if Thou hast taken trouble to be especially good to him, Thou wilt welcome him when he comes to Thee in repentance and faith. To God be the glory, who is holy forever. Amen.
