We hear your cry for forgiveness, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, where mercy flows freely for those who repent. Your acknowledgment of sin is the first step toward healing, and we rejoice that the Holy Spirit has convicted your heart. Pornography is a grievous sin, it distorts God’s sacred design for intimacy, enslaves the mind, and defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). It is a form of idolatry, replacing the worship of the Creator with the worship of created images (Romans 1:22-25). But take heart: the blood of Jesus is powerful to cleanse every stain, and His grace is sufficient to break every chain.

The Word of God declares, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). This promise is yours today. Do not let shame or condemnation keep you from running to the Father, for there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). However, true repentance requires not only sorrow for sin but also a turning away from it. We must crucify the flesh and its lusts (Galatians 5:24) and walk in the Spirit, who empowers us to live holy lives (Galatians 5:16).

We also urge you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Flee from temptation, do not linger in places (physically or digitally) where sin crouches at the door (Genesis 4:7). Install accountability software, seek out a trusted brother in Christ to walk with you, and fill your mind with Scripture and prayer. The psalmist wrote, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word" (Psalm 119:9). Memorize verses that combat lust, such as Job 31:1: "I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?" Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of hope in Your unfailing love. We lift up our brother who has come to You in repentance, acknowledging his sin of pornography. Lord, we thank You that You are faithful and just to forgive him and cleanse him from all unrighteousness. Wash him whiter than snow, O God, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:7, 10).

Father, break the chains of addiction and lust that have bound him. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and holiness. Guard his eyes, his mind, and his heart from the temptations of this world. Surround him with godly men who will encourage him, hold him accountable, and sharpen him in the faith (Proverbs 27:17). Give him the strength to flee from temptation and the wisdom to fill his life with that which is pure, lovely, and honorable (Philippians 4:8).

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he is beyond Your grace or that he cannot overcome this sin. We declare that greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Remind him daily of his identity in Christ, a new creation, redeemed, and set apart for Your purposes (2 Corinthians 5:17). May he find his satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the longings of his heart (Psalm 107:9).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our sins on the cross so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness (1 Peter 2:24). Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace that are new every morning. We trust in Your power to restore and renew. Amen.

Brother, do not lose heart. The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. Every time you choose righteousness over sin, you are building spiritual muscle and drawing closer to the heart of God. You are not defined by your past failures but by the finished work of Christ on the cross. Keep pressing into Him, and remember that "he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6). We are praying for you, and we believe that God is at work in your life, even now. Walk in the light, and the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse you from all sin (1 John 1:7).

Many in the church have walked this road and found freedom, not by sheer willpower, but by bringing the struggle into community and letting God rewire desires over time. You might also consider whether a local support group or recovery ministry could offer a structured path forward.

Lord Jesus, we come with our brother, who has sinned and is desperate for Your forgiveness. Thank You that Your cross covers every fall, and that Your resurrection power is our only hope for real change. Pour out Your mercy on him now. Quiet the shame and accusation, and let him hear Your voice saying, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” Give him courage to take a small, concrete step into honest fellowship. Guard his mind and body in moments of temptation, and anchor his identity in Your love, not in his failure. Lead him to lasting freedom, for Your name’s sake. Amen.

The cry of your heart has already reached the ear of Him who delights in mercy: “Forgive me, for I have sinned.” Let this be a settled certainty in your soul, there is forgiveness. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. However deep the stain of this secret sin, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all unrighteousness. The greatness of the forgiveness is measured by the greatness of the sin, and it is according to the riches of His grace; the infinite wealth of His great heart of love must be freely spent to blot out such iniquity. Yet there could never be any pardon without the pangs of the sinner’s Substitute. Sin must be a great thing to need so great a sacrifice as the death of God’s own Son. But now, because Christ has died and risen, forgiveness is easy; the moment a sinner looks to Him, the burden rolls off his shoulders never to return.

But let me entreat you, beware of a repentance that is only transient. The repentance that is worth having turns a man inside out, purging the innermost soul and killing the love of sin itself, so that if sin were buttered and sugared on both sides, the true penitent would not have it. The soul that merely dreads the consequences of sin, but not the evil of it, mocks God with a superficial sorrow. True repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the cross. Stand there at Calvary, see your sin laid on Jesus, and mourn it with a hatred that casts it out as an evil tenant. Then let faith fill the house with Christ, the sole Master of the heart.

Divine pardon is the only forgiveness possible; none can remit sin but God only. He says, “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions.” His forgiveness is perfect, every sin blotted out at once, never to be mentioned against you forever. Do not look to any priest, any ritual, or any passing of time; look only to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. And do not delay. The midnight hour may strike; seek His face now, with a genuine confession and a believing glance of the eye to Christ. A sigh, a groan, a genuine turning from the evil, and all is done. There is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared, feared with a holy awe that makes you abhor the very thought of returning to the mire.

But mark this: no one can wallow in open or secret sin and yet belong to Christ. Keep yourself unspotted from the world’s puddles. Sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. If you cling to this lust, do not pretend to have peace. Cast it from you, make no provision for the flesh, and fly to the shelter of your Savior’s wounds. As you do, the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse you, and you shall know the joy of sins forgiven. Believe on the Lord Jesus, and go in peace.

To think that this sin destroys you is itself a trap of the wicked one. For to sin is not so destructive as to despair. He who has offended, if he is watchful, quickly mends what has been done through repentance. But he who has learned to be despondent, and does not repent, fails of this amendment by not applying the remedies from repentance.

You have done the first good work. The best thing is to avoid sin in the first instance; the next to it is to feel that we sin. Tell your offenses in particular, as you have done, that you may learn for what you receive forgiveness, so that you may become grateful towards your Benefactor. But take care now that you thoroughly amend yourself. For what profit is it if you enter on the thought of your sins, but do not put off the past transgression and cut off the passions of lust? Luxury, wealth, idleness, sloth, and ease lead us on to irregular lust. You must learn how to possess your own vessel in sanctification. We possess our vessel when it is pure; when it is impure, sin possesses it, and it does not do the things which we wish, but what sin commands.

And do not think that you can continue to sin without punishment because you have asked for pardon, as if you were crucifying the Son of God afresh and putting Him to an open shame. If you have tasted of the heavenly gift of forgiveness, and been made a partaker of the Holy Ghost, and then fall away again, what forgiveness can you possibly obtain if you do not labor with a godly sorrow? Yet do not let this drive you into the far greater pit of despair. Godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, a repentance that brings no regret. No one will condemn himself if he has sorrowed for sin, if he has mourned and afflicted himself.

Bring forth therefore this godly sorrow, for the Church is a spiritual bath, which wipes away not filth of body, but stains of soul, by its many methods of repentance. Think of Peter after his denial. He went out and wept bitterly, and therefore even such a sin was forgiven him, because he repented as he ought. God is longsuffering, and thereby would lead you to repentance. He grants you a longer space that you may put off your past transgressions. But if you continue in a hardness and impenitent heart, you treasure up unto yourself wrath. Let the tears flow now, let the life be cleansed now, while you have health of mind and soundness of soul to go through the right course of preparation.
