We rejoice with you in sharing this precious truth and we agree that salvation is the greatest need for every soul. We thank God for your heart to point others to Jesus and to the Word of God.
We stand on what is written in Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And also Romans 10:13 For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. This is the simple and powerful gospel, that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own works. As it says in Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
We also affirm what you have shared about confessing and turning from sins. True faith includes repentance, a turning away from sin and turning to Christ to follow and obey Him. As it is written in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And in Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out. When we receive Jesus we become new creations, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
We love your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and to start in the book of John. This is wise counsel, for in John we meet Jesus clearly as the Son of God and the only way to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And John 3:16 reminds us For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. There is salvation in no one else, as Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We join together in prayer for all who are looking for salvation and for all who will read these words.
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You for Your mercy and Your gift of salvation. We pray for every person who is seeking You, who feels lost or burdened by sin, that You would draw them by Your Holy Spirit and open their eyes to see Jesus as Lord and risen Savior. Give them faith to believe in their heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and courage to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Grant them repentance to turn from sin and a desire to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their life. Forgive their sins, cleanse them, make them new, and fill them with Your peace and assurance. Lead them into Your Word, especially into the Gospel of John, that they may know Jesus more and grow in faith and obedience. We pray that they would find a Bible believing church where they can be baptized and discipled and walk faithfully with You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage anyone who is seeking today to not wait. Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus right now, confess your sins to Him, believe in Him, and choose to follow Him. Begin reading the Bible daily, starting in John, and pray and ask God to guide you each step. If you have made this decision, tell another Christian believer and seek fellowship with those who will help you grow in Christ.
