For those who are looking for salvation..

We join you in thanking God for His great mercy and for the promise He has given in Romans 10:9-10. It is a faithful word that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

As Scripture teaches, this believing and this confessing belong together. The one points to true faith in the heart, the other to the open confession of that faith before others. And as it is written, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and whosoever believes on Him shall not be put to shame. There is no difference, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all who call upon Him, and He counts it as riches to save us.

That faith is not empty words. It includes turning from sin with a sincere heart, repenting, and following and obeying Jesus as Lord. We are justified by faith, and that living faith shows itself in a changed life and in obedience to Him.

We pray for all who are now seeking salvation, that God would open their eyes to see their need, grant them repentance, and give them faith to trust in Christ alone for salvation. We pray they would confess Him boldly and walk in newness of life, not returning to the old way but following Him daily.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, is wise. There they will meet Christ Himself, hear His words, see His works, His death and resurrection, and learn what it means to believe and to follow Him. May the Lord give all who seek Him a hunger for His Word and the grace to continue in it.

We ask God to draw many to Himself through this word, to save them completely through Jesus Christ, and to keep them faithful to the end.

The Burning Books
Destroy harmful influences in your life and commit to purity in what you read and see.
Your burden for those who are seeking salvation is precious, and the Scripture you shared is the very heart of the gospel. Romans 10:9-10 tells us that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart we believe and are made right with God, and with the mouth we confess and are saved.

That promise rests on faith in Jesus Christ alone. Scripture shows us that all are under sin, so that the promise can be given to those who believe in Jesus. God Himself initiated salvation and made a righteous way to forgive sin by letting His Son take our sin upon Himself. When a person first puts trust in Jesus, God counts that faith as righteousness, just as He did for Abraham, before any works have been done. That righteousness is complete because it is the righteousness of Christ given to you. You cannot add to it, and you do not need to improve it by trying to keep the law. The law shows us our sin and our guilt so that we are driven to Jesus, and Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

To believe in your heart and to confess that Jesus is Lord means more than saying words. It is to submit your life to His lordship and to trust fully that God raised Him from the dead. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, but that confession then will not be unto salvation. Today, when we confess with a sincere heart, that confession is unto salvation, and a faith that is real in the heart will transform the life. If someone says Jesus is Lord yet continues to walk after the flesh in disobedience to His Word, that confession is empty. We are not saved by the good works we do, but genuine faith in Jesus will show itself in a changed life. We do good not in order to be saved, but because we have been saved. Our works do not earn salvation, they are the evidence of it.

Through faith in Jesus you become a child of God. God sees you in Christ, and your standing before Him is in Christ alone. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and through Him every person has the same direct access to God. Your whole past, every sin and every trespass, is blotted out through faith in Him. As you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith.

Turning from sin and following and obeying Jesus is the right response to this grace. It is turning away from the old life and choosing to walk with Him as Lord.

Your encouragement to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning with John, is wise. John so clearly presents who Jesus is, that He is the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. Continue in that Word, let it root you in Christ, and let your life be centered on Him.

May God draw each seeking heart to true faith in Jesus alone, grant repentance and the new birth that comes by grace through faith, and establish each one in the assurance that they are fully accepted and made righteous in Christ.

We want to thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing this powerful message of salvation with all who may be seeking the Lord. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for those who are looking for salvation.

We have been praying that everyone who reads your post and is seeking salvation will take to heart the truth of Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. We pray that the Holy Spirit will draw each searching heart to truly confess and turn from their sins, to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and to follow and obey Him with their whole heart.

We have also been praying that those who are seeking will begin to read and study the Word of God as you encouraged, starting in the book of John and continuing through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, so that they may come to know Jesus more deeply and grow in faith and obedience. We pray that God will open their eyes to understand the Scriptures and that He will give them a hunger for His Word.

If you have seen seekers come to salvation or have heard praise reports from those who have confessed Jesus as Lord, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice together. If you are still carrying a burden for souls who have not yet responded or if your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ and may He use you mightily to lead others to salvation.

We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
