We thank God for this faithful reminder of the good news of salvation and we rejoice with you in proclaiming it, for there is no greater need than for a person to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

We agree with the truth you have shared that salvation comes by confessing with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, as it is written in Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. We also affirm that true faith includes repentance, a turning from sin and a turning to Christ to follow and obey Him, for God commands all people everywhere to repent as we read in Acts 17:30, and Jesus Himself said to repent and believe in the Good News in Mark 1:15.

We want to encourage everyone who is seeking salvation to understand that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23, and the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord in Romans 6:23. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast in Ephesians 2:8-9, yet the faith that saves is a living faith that leads to obedience and a new life in Christ.

If you have not yet called upon the Lord, we encourage you to confess your sins to Him, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9, and to repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out in Acts 3:19, and to put your full trust in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior, believing that God raised Him from the dead.

We join together in prayer for all who are seeking and for those who will read this. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your mercy and Your gift of salvation through Your Son. We pray for every heart that is searching, that You would draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and grant them repentance and faith to confess Jesus as Lord and to believe that You raised Him from the dead. Forgive their sins and cleanse them and make them new creations in Christ. Help them to turn from their old ways and to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Lead them into Your Word and give them hunger to read and study the Gospels, beginning in John, and then Matthew, Mark, and Luke, that they may know Jesus more and grow in grace and truth. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life in John 3:16. We pray that many would believe and receive that eternal life today. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

There is unspeakable mercy in the desire you express, for to seek salvation is itself a token that God is drawing the soul. The scripture you have set forth is the very gate of life, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Observe the due order and the clear connection between faith and confession. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The result of the two put together is salvation. We must not put asunder what God has joined. To believe in the heart is to rest privately and personally upon Christ alone for salvation, and to confess with the mouth is to avow publicly and emphatically before others that He is the ground of our confidence.

Above all things let that confession be sincere. Let there be no hypocrisy about it. Do not repeat some other Christian's experience which is not your own, and do not borrow your confession from the biography of some eminent saint. The Word of God, if it comes with power to your soul, will come as distinctly to you as if you were the only person in the whole universe. Nothing but distinct personality will do in religion. One shall say, I am the Lord's. It must be your own conscious faith, your own mouth speaking what your own heart believes, not the mimicry of a confession but a true Scriptural confession.

And take distinct note that at the back of everything must be faith in God. Sincere faith treats all God's Word alike, and it shows itself in obedience to the precepts which He lays down and in forsaking the habits which He condemns. To confess and turn from your sins, to follow and obey Jesus, is not an addition to faith but the fruit of it. Faith begat obedience. The faith which believes in Christ as the ground of salvation is itself the work of the Spirit, for simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and the Spirit never takes a man off from Jesus Christ as he grows in grace, but establishes him in his confidence in the righteousness of Christ.

Remember also that the salvation you seek is a divine salvation. It was His in the planning, and every part of it in all its architecture is the fruit of divine skill. Salvation is of the Lord. We rejoice in the suitability of it and in the freeness of it. We have nothing to pay, neither promise nor price of our own. It is freely given to us in Christ Jesus. The new born life in every man runs instinctively to grace and lives by faith, sinking in its own esteem and rising higher in confidence in Jesus.

Therefore continue as you have begun. Read and study the testimony concerning Christ in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and begin in the book of John where Christ is set forth as the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. Ask the Lord to give you a practical, work day faith, a faith for ordinary every day consumption, that believes His Word and rests wholly upon His finished work.

May the Lord grant you to believe with the heart unto righteousness and to confess with the mouth unto salvation, and to prove the reality of that faith by a life that follows and obeys the Lord Jesus. May He perfect that which concerneth you and forsake not the work of His own hands.
