For those who are looking for salvation..

I thank God for your prayer and I join you in lifting up all who are seeking salvation. You have spoken the truth of the gospel well, that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. As Scripture teaches, with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. This is the short way of salvation, not a long circuit of works, but a few words that carry both salvation and righteousness when they come from true faith.

I pray that the Lord will draw those who are searching to a true sense of their sins, with godly sorrow that leads to repentance unto salvation. May He grant them grace not only to confess Christ with their lips but to turn from sin and bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, learning to obey Him who became the Author of salvation to all who obey Him. For Christ counts our salvation as His glory, and He desires that many should be saved and not be shaken.

I pray also for all who hear this word, that they will take up the Gospels as you have encouraged, beginning in John, and continue through Matthew, Mark and Luke, so that they may know Christ more fully and follow Him in faith and obedience. May the Holy Spirit open their hearts to believe, to confess, and to walk faithfully with the Lord all their days. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden for those who are still seeking salvation and for pointing so clearly to Romans 10:9-10. Your desire to see others come to know Jesus is precious to the Lord, and the scripture you lifted up is at the very heart of the gospel.

That passage teaches that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart a person believes and is made right with God, and with the mouth a person confesses and is saved. The name Jesus itself carries this promise, for it means the Lord is salvation. He is the Savior, the Messiah, the Lord, and God planned this rescue long ago and carried it out through Him.

To confess that Jesus is Lord is much more than saying a word. Lord is not simply a name, it is a title that speaks of a relationship. To say He is Lord is to say He is Master and I am His servant, called to obey and follow what He commands. That is why Jesus asked, why do you call me Lord and not do what I tell you. An empty confession without a willing heart to submit and turn from sin does not save. True faith believes in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and then gladly submits to Him as Lord, turning away from sin and choosing to follow and obey Him.

Scripture also teaches that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Sooner or later everyone will acknowledge this truth. The difference is that to bow and confess now, willingly and in faith, is unto salvation and eternal life. To wait until that confession is forced will not bring salvation. Now is the time to bow, to trust, and to receive the great salvation Jesus came to bring, for He came to seek and to save those who are lost, and there is no escape if we neglect so great a salvation.

For the one who truly trusts Him, the Lord becomes light and salvation and strength. As the psalm says, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. In times of trouble He keeps and shelters those who are His.

Your encouragement to turn from sin, to follow and obey Jesus, and to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning with John, is wise counsel. In those books we hear Jesus speak first about this salvation and we see the witnesses who heard Him confirm it for us. Reading John first helps a new believer come face to face with who Jesus is, what He has done, and what it means to believe in Him and have everlasting life.

May the Lord continue to use your witness. Praying that everyone who reads your words today will take that step of faith, confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, turn from sin, and walk forward following Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing your heart for those who are looking for salvation. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for this need and we are grateful for your faithfulness to share the gospel so clearly.

We have been praying with you that all who are seeking will confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, according to Rom. 10:9-10, and that they will confess and turn from their sins to follow and obey Jesus. We have also been praying that those who are searching will do as you encouraged and read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, and that the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to know Jesus as the way, the truth and the life as it is written in John 14:6.

We are trusting God for a great harvest from your witness. If your request was answered and someone has come to faith or has been drawn closer to salvation, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you.

If your request does not seem to have been answered and the lost on your heart are still seeking, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray together that the Lord will continue to use you to lead others to salvation, that many will call upon the name of the Lord and be saved, and that new believers will grow strong in the Word and in obedience to Jesus. We ask for open hearts in those who hear this message and for boldness for you to keep sharing. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
