### and ###

We hear your cry, dear brother and sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The pain of longing for a child, the repeated disappointments, and the emotional and physical toll of IVF is not lost on us. We stand with you in this valley, believing that our Heavenly Father sees your tears, hears your prayers, and holds your future in His hands.

First, we want to acknowledge the weight of your words: "God, please show some mercy on us... it is enough, please." We recognize the depth of your exhaustion and the plea for relief. In moments like these, it is okay to be honest with God, He can handle your raw emotions. The psalmist David cried out, "How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?" (Psalm 13:1). Yet even in his despair, David turned to God, and so do we with you now.

We also want to gently address the mention of your "mistakes" and your wife’s. Scripture reminds us that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). If there are areas where you feel you or your wife have fallen short, whether in this journey or in life, we encourage you to lay them at the feet of Jesus. He is not a God who delights in condemnation but in mercy and restoration. The blood of Christ covers all sin, and His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Now, let us speak truth over your situation. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who opens and closes wombs (Genesis 20:18, 1 Samuel 1:5-6), and nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37). We do not know why this path has been so difficult, but we trust that God is working even in the waiting. The two embryos you have left are not just cells, they are lives created by God, and we believe He has a purpose for them.

We also want to encourage you to surrender this burden fully to the Lord. The pain of infertility can feel all-consuming, but Jesus invites you to "come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Rest in Him, even when the outcome is uncertain. Trust that His plans for you are good, even when they don’t align with your own (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother and sister who are weary and heartbroken. Lord, You see their tears, You hear their cries, and You know the desires of their hearts. We ask that You would pour out Your mercy upon them in this season. Father, we declare that You are the God who heals, the God who provides, and the God who opens doors no man can shut. We ask that You would breathe life into these two remaining embryos, that You would strengthen them, and that You would prepare the womb for implantation according to Your perfect will.

Lord, we also ask that You would comfort them in their grief. Where there is despair, bring hope. Where there is fear, bring peace. Where there is exhaustion, bring renewal. Father, we confess any sins they have brought before You, and we thank You for the forgiveness and cleansing that comes through the blood of Jesus. Help them to walk in the freedom of Your grace, knowing that they are fully loved and accepted by You.

We pray against the spirit of discouragement and hopelessness that may be trying to take root in their hearts. Instead, fill them with Your joy and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them the strength to endure this trial, knowing that You are with them every step of the way.

Father, we trust You with their future. Whether You choose to bless them with a child through this IVF or in another way, we pray that they would find their ultimate fulfillment in You. Help them to lean on You, to seek Your face, and to find their identity in Christ alone.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to cling to God’s promises. Meditate on His Word, surround yourselves with godly community, and continue to bring your requests before Him. Remember that even when the path is unclear, God is working behind the scenes for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone in this journey, we are praying for you, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is interceding for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).

If this trial is meant to refine your faith, let it draw you closer to God. If it is meant to redirect your steps, trust that He has a better plan. And if it is meant to bring you a child, believe that He will do it in His perfect timing. Whatever the outcome, may you find your hope and your strength in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this heavy place, truly. The repeated loss of so many hopes, through each cycle and each transfer, brings a kind of grief that words can barely touch. We hear the exhaustion in your plea for mercy, and we sit with you in that aching cry. It is not weakness to say you can’t tolerate any more pain; it’s the honest truth of a heart that has been battered and still turns to God.

Grief over lost dreams and children you have not held is real and holy ground. There is nothing wrong with naming the depth of it or with needing to pause and simply breathe. Please, be gentle with yourselves. The apologies you offer, “for our mistakes”, sound like the weight of wondering what you could have done differently. We want you to know that God’s mercy is not a reward for getting everything right; it is a gift for those who are spent. You do not have to clean yourselves up before coming to Him. He sees your tears, and He is not counting your missteps.

A practical help in times like this is not to carry it alone. Besides praying, we’d encourage you to let someone you trust, a friend, a pastor, a support group, know how fragile this moment feels. Sometimes just speaking the sorrow aloud to another person can make it feel a little less crushing. You are a team, you and your wife; cling to each other especially now, even when it is easier to draw apart. Grief can isolate, but it was meant to be shared.

We pray with you now.

Lord Jesus, You who wept at the grave of a friend, draw near to this couple. They have lost again and again, and their hearts are shattered. Wrap them in Your mercy, not because they have earned it, but because You are merciful. Give them the peace that goes beyond understanding, the strength to face tomorrow, and the courage to be honest about their limits. Quiet the voices of guilt and replace them with Your steady, present love. Guide them toward wisdom in whatever comes next, and most of all, let them feel that they are not alone, held by You and by the prayers of Your people. Amen.

You speak of mercy, and that is well, for mercy is the cry of a soul that has come to the end of its own resources. The very place where you find yourself, this barren wilderness of repeated disappointment, where the well of hope seems dry and the dust of grief is in your throat, this is the singular season where the Angel of the Covenant often finds His wandering children. It was not in the house of Abraham, amid the comforts of the tent, that the Lord met Hagar. It was in the desert, by a well, when she was utterly cast out and her own strength was spent. He called her by name and asked her the home questions that searched her heart. So it is with you. The pain that cries, “It is enough,” has prepared you for an interview with mercy that nothing else could.

Search your heart, I urge you, as to where your hope is founded. There is a false hope in God’s mercy that comforts multitudes to their destruction, a vague confidence that God is too good to cause pain, a belief that merely feels sorry for sin without turning from it. True mercy never leaves a soul as it found it. The first work of mercy is to make us loathe the old way and create a clean heart within us. You have asked forgiveness for your mistakes and your wife’s mistakes. That is the gateway. But let not your tears be merely for a withheld earthly gift, a child to fill your arms. Let the bitterest grief be that you have sinned against a tender God. When the soul cries out, “Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned,” then the God of mercy runs swiftly to meet it. Your rawness of heart, your inability to tolerate more pain, this is the stripping away of every other confidence, leaving you at the mercy seat with nothing but the plea, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.”

Do not imagine that mercy is slow because it is absent. The Lord is slow to anger, but that slowness is the space in which mercy works. The sword of justice is rattling in its scabbard, but the hand of mercy presses it back, crying, “Sleep, O sword, sleep.” Why has that sword not fallen upon you? Because that same mercy, which seems so distant from your womb, is standing guard over your very breath, giving you space to know that all His mercy is gratuitous, free, unpurchased, sovereign. He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. And if He has sent this affliction, if He has brought you low, it is because when He purposes mercy, He often begins with stern discipline. He digs out the foundation before He builds the temple.

Look now to the great Messenger of mercy, the Interpreter, Jesus Christ. It is upon the ground of His sacrifice that God can look upon sin with eyes of mercy. There is no other loophole in the wall of justice. In your case, you can only cast yourselves upon Him. Your prayer for a child may be granted; the two remaining embryos may yet bring your household the sound of laughter. But the deeper, surer prayer must be this: that whatever the outcome of these medical endeavors, you would be found in Christ, resting in His finished work. Prayer is the forerunner of mercy, not because it changes the immutable God, but because prayer sweetens the mercy when it comes, and often the prayer itself is the first comfort sent. Even while you are yet speaking, He has heard you. The tears you cannot squeeze out, He accepts the dry bottles groaning for the moisture of His grace.

Yet ponder this: What if God’s mercy to you goes beyond your request? What if the tender mercy of our God has for you a provision greater than the gift of a child? The greatest miracle is not that the barren womb opens, but that the stony heart is taken away. You may be craving the created gift more than the Creator’s own self. Let your cry be, “Give me Christ, or I die! Let me know that my iniquity is forgiven!” At the foot of the cross, the ground is level, and mercy makes its demands, which are only to receive what it freely gives. Come with your empty, aching hands, and take the eternal life He offers. I shall not cease to plead with the God of all mercy that He would visit your home, either with the swift-footed mercy of a living child in due season, or with a peace so profound, so submissive to His wisdom, that it silences every rebellious murmur. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord.

You cry out for mercy, and rightly so, for God delights in mercy and would have it rather than sacrifice. Yet consider this: when God shows mercy, He looks upon the humble and the long-suffering soul. You say, “It is enough” and that you cannot tolerate more pain. But I ask you, who has measured out your portion of sorrow? Is it not the same God who numbers the hairs of your head and knows your frame? The spark of affliction falls into a deep, quiet soul and is quenched; but a restless spirit, ever demanding its own relief, is set ablaze by every trial. I do not speak to wound you, but to call you to that holy long-suffering which is more valuable than armies or walls. Your repeated labors have not yielded the child you desire, and you feel spent. So be it. Do not let this embitter you, but let it empty you of all pride and self-will, that you may become a vessel of mercy, fitted not for destruction but for glory.

Christ Himself was made perfect through sufferings, and the Apostle boasts that he obtained mercy precisely so that in him, the chief of sinners, God might display all patience as an example. You have asked forgiveness for your mistakes and those of your wife. Here then is the beginning of wisdom. Examine carefully what has been done. I do not sit in judgment over the means you have pursued, but I must speak plainly: any act that seizes a gift from God’s hand by force of human cunning, rather than waiting upon His timing and the natural order He has established, risks mistaking vainglory for hope. The hypocrite does deeds of seeming virtue for credit, not mercy. But God is not mocked. Search your hearts. Have you, in your eagerness, been puffed up, thinking you could command what only He can give? True love “is not puffed up,” “is not easily provoked.” It suffers long and waits.

Now you have two remaining, these little ones entrusted to ice and glass. I will not pray that God bless a path that steps outside the marriage bed and the sanctuary of the body as He ordained it. But I will pray, with all my strength, that God show you the mercy of repentance and the peace that surpasses all striving. Throw yourselves upon Him, not with demands, but with tears and the words of the publican. Help together by prayer, as the Apostle says, and make yourselves worthy of mercy by your humility. Perhaps the Lord, who endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath, will yet make known the riches of His glory on you, vessels of mercy prepared beforehand.

Do not be like those who, when they suffer, only grow worse. Rather, join the company of those who have endured, being companions of the afflicted, and even rejoicing in fellowship with the sufferings of Christ. The three children in the furnace were not delivered before the flames, but in them their bonds were loosed. Wait, then, upon the God who pities the widow and the fatherless, who is pitiful and merciful, long-suffering and of great kindness. Let your prayer be not “Give me the child,” but “Thy will be done.” And if it is His will that your quiver remain empty, know that He Himself is your portion. If He grants you a child by a miracle of His own fashioning, give Him the glory. Until then, bear this cross without resentment, that you may be found among those of whom the world is not worthy.
