Please pray my friend can get this phony bill taken away. Allow me to explain: ### upgraded his cell phone with AT&T, but he never in his life has used AT&T for internet. He has Verizon for internet. Anyway, AT&T in the fairly recent past has billed him for both unreturned equipment [he never had] and also service he never had. The total bill now is just shy of $400.00. ### has tried to resolve this matter with AT&T several times. Apparently they never fixed the problem because now the bogus bill has gone to a collection agency! I tried to help ### today by taking screen shots of his Verizon internet payments. I know that's not proof positive that ### has never had AT&T, but it does make his claim very credible. I mean, the man lives in senior low-income housing in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. That would be really odd for a person in his circumstances to have two internet providers. My main worry is that ###'s credit rating will be damaged by this. Also I am concerned because he's very upset about particularly the farce that happened today. See, today he talked with yet another AT&T customer service person who promised to straighten this matter out. She promised to send an e-mail stating ### did not owe AT&T money. Instead of getting this e-mail, all AT&T ended up doing was sending poor ### two "credits" of $30.00 each which for all intents and purposes they then turned around and took right back by sending him yet another bill for the entire amount. This is absolutely disgusting. It's also not the first time something like this happened to ###. Last year a doctor kept billing him for a no-show to an appointment he had canceled well in advance. He finally caved and paid the $30.00 because he didn't want it to go to a collection agency. It's fraud. They're doing it on purpose to rip people off. Anyway, thank you for praying.
