Financial provision

Thank you for sharing your need so honestly, and for allowing us to pray with you. The stress that comes with financial pressure is very real, and God sees both the practical needs you are facing and the weight they have put on your heart.

Jesus taught us not to live in anxious worry about our lives, what we will eat or drink or wear. He reminded us that life is more than food and the body more than clothing, and that worry itself has no value and adds nothing to our lives. To worry is not to solve anything. It simply drains faith, because faith and worry cannot rule the heart at the same time. When we worry we are showing how much we need to trust Him more deeply.

Most of our worry is about tomorrow. Today is often provided for, but we become afraid about what will happen tomorrow or when the next bill comes due. Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself and each day has enough to handle on its own. Often when we finally arrive at tomorrow we find that God has already gone ahead of us to make a way. He pointed to the birds, which do not store up food yet your Father feeds them, and to the lilies, which do not labor yet God clothes them in beauty. If He cares so faithfully for them, how much more does your Father know what you need and care for you.

That is why Scripture encourages us to be anxious about nothing, but in everything to bring our requests to God in prayer with thanksgiving. Prayer is the answer to worry. When we turn what worries us into prayer and commit it to the Lord, He promises a peace that will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, even when circumstances remain difficult. That peace does not always mean the problem disappears instantly, but it means you do not have to live in constant fear and anxiety.

The cure for worry is trust. Trust in the Lord and do good, delight yourself in Him, and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will add what you need. Give Him room to work and do not put Him in a box. He is able to make provision in ways we cannot see or predict, and He has already made the greatest provision for us in giving His Son for our forgiveness and life.

I have prayed for you, that God would provide for every need you have, that He would lift the burden of worry and replace it with trust, and that His peace would keep your heart today. Keep bringing every concern to Him, with thanksgiving, and rest in the knowledge that He knows your needs and is faithful to care for His children.
