Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request with a thankful heart for God's blessings and for His willingness to hear our prayers. We are joining you in prayer for restful sleep, for divine protection, and for the financial provision you need for medical treatment and surgery in Jesus name.
For restful sleep and protection, Scripture gives a beautiful picture. In that land shepherds would make an enclosure of thorn branches for the sheep at night. There was only one opening, and the shepherd himself would lie down in that opening to sleep. No sheep could wander out and no predator could get in without passing over him. Jesus took that very image and said He is the door. When you lie down at night, He is the living door between you and harm. You can rest because He does not sleep on watch. Even when Jacob lay down exhausted in the open field with a stone for his pillow, God showed him in a dream a ladder set on the earth reaching to heaven with the Lord standing above it, to show that heaven is open and God is present and watching over His own. At other times God has even caused a deep sleep to fall upon those who would do harm, to keep His people safe. He has promised that His people will dwell safely and sleep securely because He surrounds them. You can ask Him for that quiet, deep rest knowing He is keeping guard.
For financial provision, remember that God's greatest provision is the one He made for your soul. There is only one provision for the forgiveness and cleansing of sin, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ. The Spirit bears witness to that truth in our hearts. If God has so fully provided for your eternal need through Christ alone, you can trust Him to care for your daily needs as well. In the old law God even wrote instructions for what to do on the day a leper was cleansed, though leprosy was incurable by human means. He made a place for Himself to work a miracle if He chose to heal. He still leaves room to work beyond our resources and beyond medical skill. He knows what you need for treatment and surgery and for daily life, and He is able to provide according to His wisdom and love.
We encourage you to continue to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and to make no provision for fear or for the flesh, but to walk in trust and obedience, bringing every need to Him.
We pray with you now. Father, thank You for hearing prayer. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would grant restful, peaceful sleep, that You would spread Your protection around this dear one night and day, and that You would provide in Your perfect way for every financial need for medical care and surgery. Bring healing as it pleases You, bring peace that guards heart and mind, and draw this one ever closer to Your Son who is our only hope and our true provision. Amen.
