We are standing with you in prayer for this work situation and we understand how heavy and draining a toxic environment can be, especially when your future and your contract extension feel uncertain. We join you in asking our Heavenly Father to pour out His favor upon you and to contend for you where you cannot contend for yourself.
We are reminded of what Scripture says about the favor and defense of God. Psalm 5:12 says For you will bless the righteous, Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield. And Proverbs 3:3-4 tells us to let kindness and truth never leave us, so we will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. When we walk in integrity before Him, He is able to speak for us even in rooms we are not in, just as He did for Joseph who found favor even in difficult places in Genesis 39:21, and for Esther when God gave her favor before the king. We also cling to the promise in Exodus 14:14 that Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still, and in Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. Even when others may speak against you or create strife, Romans 12:19 reminds us to not avenge ourselves but give place to God's wrath, for it is written Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord.
We notice your request speaks of God but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray and have confidence that God hears us.
So together we pray. Father in heaven, we lift up our dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your divine favor to rest upon them at work. Let Your favor surround them as a shield and let Your hand establish the work of their hands as Psalm 90:17 says. In this toxic situation, we ask You to contend for them, to be their defender and advocate. Speak for them in rooms they are not in, let truth be revealed, and let their character and diligent work speak clearly. Give them wisdom to respond with grace and integrity, to not repay evil for evil, but to work heartily as for You and not for men as Colossians 3:23 teaches. Guard their heart from discouragement and anxiety, and let Your peace rule within them. We also bring their contract extension before You. You know their needs and the desires of their heart. We ask that if it is Your will, You would grant this extension and provide stability and provision, but above all we trust Your perfect plan, knowing Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Let Your will be done in their workplace and in their future. Strengthen them to shine as light in that place and to trust You daily. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk faithfully, doing your work with excellence as unto the Lord, showing kindness and keeping a clear conscience even when others do not. Proverbs 16:7 says When a man's ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Commit your work and your future to Him in prayer each day, trust Him with the outcome of the contract, and rest in knowing He is fighting for you and His favor goes before you.
