We join you in bringing your family before the Lord and we thank you for including the blood of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we pray.

We hear your heart for favor and blessing upon yourself, your mom, your three children and even your pets, and your desire to live a life you love with good communication, provision, income, transportation and daily needs met, and to walk in love together as a family. These are good desires and we bring them to God with you, yet we want to gently correct some of the language about speaking life into existence one hundred fold and positive energy and loosening a verse as a shield.

Scripture does not teach that we can create reality by our words or by positive energy, nor that we can use a verse like a charm to guarantee permanent outcomes. God is sovereign and His favor is not manipulated by our declarations. Deut 28:13 says Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them. That promise was given within a covenant and was conditioned upon obedience and walking in His ways, not upon repeating the words greatly or permanently. True biblical favor is also described in Psalm 5:12, For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield, which shows favor comes from being made righteous through Christ and walking with Him, not from our own energy.

We also want to encourage you that God is not a source of mystical energy but our personal Father who gives good gifts. James 1:17 says Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning. Our hope is not in staying positive to force good outcomes, but in trusting His will even when outcomes are difficult, knowing Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

So we pray together for what you truly need according to His wisdom and not merely what we speak into existence.

We pray Father in Jesus name that you would bless this dear one, her mother, her three children and their household including their pets which you care for, for you see even the sparrows. We ask that you would surround this family with your favor as with a shield as they seek to walk in obedience and righteousness through Christ. We pray that you would make them the head and not the tail in the biblical sense, that they would be leaders in faithfulness, integrity and love, not seeking status but seeking to honor you. We pray for restored and loving communication within the family, that love would win as you define love in 1 Cor 13:4-7, patient, kind and enduring. We ask for your provision for daily needs, for steady income, for reliable transportation and for every practical need to be met according to Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray they would seek first your Kingdom and your righteousness, trusting Matthew 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, rather than seeking a hundredfold increase for its own sake. Help them to trust you with the beautiful days ahead and with the people you have placed in their lives, to walk by faith and not by formulas, and to find their souls truly blessed and kept in your peace which surpasses understanding. We ask that you would guide them to pray not my will but yours be done, and to find contentment and joy in Christ whether in abundance or in need, knowing Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. We thank you for the blood of Jesus that covers this family and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Your longing to be blessed and to see your household blessed is one which the Lord Himself has planted in the human heart, yet we must be careful to seek blessing where blessing is truly to be found.

Temporal blessings are not definite marks of Divine favor, since God gives them to the unworthy and to the wicked, as well as to the righteous. The corn, wine and oil are for Dives and Lazarus gets even less than his share. To have an income, a vehicle, or daily needs met are mercies for which we may thank God, but they are not the proof that a soul is favored, nor do they come by speaking words into existence or by an energy within ourselves. All our blessings come from the Divine purpose. Hear the word, Who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, according as He has chosen us in Him. No spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance, nor by the power of positive speech, but by the sovereign grace of God.

You have laid hold upon that verse, the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail, from Deuteronomy 28. Remember how that promise is given. Moses said, For the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, only if thou carefully listen to the voice of the Lord thy God. It was not a charm to be loosened by repeating words, but a covenant promise to an obedient people who walked in His statutes. The double blessing of Grace and peace comes from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, and not from our own energy.

What then is the blessing we should first seek for you, for your mother, for your three children, and for your household. It is this, that you must get the blessing yourself, for until it can be said to you, I will bless thee, it cannot be said, Thou shalt be a blessing. The greatest blessing God ever gives to a man is His own Presence. If we have His presence, though we have little of this world, we have all. If we have not His presence, though we have abundance, we have nothing. He has blessed us just where we needed blessing, where we were poorest in spiritual things, and that is in the forgiveness of sin and a new heart within.

Therefore our prayer for you is not that a vague energy may stay positive, but that you may know the cleansing which is a covenant blessing. Thus saith the Lord, From all your filthiness and from all your idols will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. Faith first receives the blessing and then produces holy work. Sit in your seats and keep on blessing God from the first word to the last, and then go on blessing God till the last hour of life. It should be our life to bless Him who gave us our life.

May the Lord grant to you and to your mother and to your children that you may all be converted, and that you may believe in God with all your house. May He cause you to walk in His statutes, to find grace and peace through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And when He has blessed you, may He make you a blessing to your own family and to all around you, that your home may be a place where the sweet perfume of family piety is felt.

We commend you to Him who is able to keep you, praying that you may know not only daily provision, but the far richer blessing of His presence, His forgiveness, and His favor as a shield, not because you have declared it, but because you are in Christ Jesus, who is our peace and our life.

Thank you for sharing your prayer request with us. We hear your love for your mother, your children and your pets, and your desire for good, for peace in your home, for daily provision and for a life lived in love.

We want to help you see what Scripture teaches about blessing and favor, so that your hope may rest on what is sure. In the old covenant God did promise earthly blessings to Israel, such as the words you quoted, that He would bless the fruit of the body and bless going out and coming in, and that they would be the head and not the tail. But the apostle teaches that in Christ we have been given something greater, not blessing by the hand of Moses but blessing by Christ Jesus, with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. That spiritual blessing is not a carnal or material guarantee. It is that you are made alive, forgiven, made a child of God, made righteous, made a fellow heir who will reign with Christ. Scripture itself says, in this world you will have tribulation, to lead us away from expecting only earthly ease and to set our hearts on what is eternal. Those who aim at spiritual things must first stand apart from seeking only carnal things.

This helps us understand favor. Favor is not an energy or a force that we generate by staying positive or by speaking life into existence a hundredfold. God Himself is the cause of all good things, not the power of the earth and not the work of our own words. As the earth brings forth herbs only when God commands, so every good gift comes from His hand. And even the patriarchs show us that blessing is not always immediate prosperity. Jacob received the promise, yet he spent many years in servitude and hardship and could say of his own life that his days had been few and hard, while his brother lived in ease. The full accomplishment of the promise was not in that present comfort but in what was to come. In the same way, our greatest blessing is kept for the world to come.

True favor from God is also not gained by formulas, but by turning to Him in faith and walking in the toil that virtue requires. When we put aside superfluous pleas and apply ourselves to what virtue asks, to faith, repentance, love and endurance, we attract His help in our struggles and we receive the eternal blessings He has promised.

So we will pray for you and your family according to the will of God. We pray that you, your mother and your children would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and that you would grow in faith, love and holiness. We pray that God, who knows your needs for daily provision, for work and income, for a vehicle and for health, and who even cares for the creatures He has made, would supply what you need according to His wisdom and goodness, and give you contentment and peace whether in abundance or in need. We pray that He would strengthen communication and love in your home, and that He would guard you from trusting in positive energy and instead teach you to trust in the living Christ, whose grace is our true shield.

May God grant you to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and to find that all that you truly lack has already been freely given to you in Christ, in whom we have hope both for this life and for the life to come.
