Pray for positive outcomes

Your prayer for clarity, favour and positive results in your work is good and right, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.

I pray that God will grant you clear sight for each task set before you, and wisdom that is not merely the wisdom of this world which comes to nothing, but the wisdom He gives which is true and lasting. May He guide your steps today, give you sound judgment in every decision, and let your efforts bear good fruit for His glory and for the good of those you serve.

Scripture teaches that humility is the head of virtue and that God looks with favour upon the humble and contrite heart, and that when His grace is with us we are fortified even in difficulty. So I pray also that He keeps you humble before Him, steady in diligence and kindness, and that His favour would rest upon you. Where there are challenges or pressures, may His grace strengthen you so that no anxiety overwhelms you.

May the Lord bless the work of your hands, grant you peace in your labors, and cause what you do today to prosper according to His good will. I ask that He would lead you in all things and that you would know His presence guiding you.

Your desire for clarity, favour and good results in your work is a right desire, and Scripture points you to the best place to begin. Wisdom is described as the principal thing. Above knowledge, above riches, above success, we are urged to get wisdom and with all our getting to get understanding. Knowledge gives facts, but wisdom is the proper use of knowledge, the ability to walk rightly and make sound choices.

The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord. It starts with reverence for Him, humbling your heart before Him and seeking Him first. Wisdom is better than rubies, and nothing you could desire compares to it. It is pictured as crying out openly, calling to all who will listen, offering itself freely. That wisdom is ultimately found in Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. To seek wisdom is to seek Him.

There is a wisdom of this world that is earthly and leads only to strife and confusion, and God has shown its emptiness. The wisdom that comes from above is different. It is pure and leads to a life of integrity and peace, and it gives life to those who have it. When you find this wisdom you find life itself and you obtain favour from the Lord. It will preserve you and keep you, it will guard your steps and give you discretion.

We see this in the example of Solomon, who when given the opportunity to ask for anything, asked not for money or fame but for wisdom to walk rightly before God and the people entrusted to him. Because he asked for wisdom, God was pleased and added to him the other blessings as well.

So for your workdays, the prayer is not only for success in tasks but for a heart filled with wisdom to guide every effort. I join you in prayer.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this heart to You. Grant a reverence for You that is the foundation of wisdom. Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Give clarity of mind, prudence in every decision, and skill in every task. Guide each step, keep from error, and let Your favour rest upon the work of these hands. Let what is done be done with diligence and integrity, and cause it to bear good fruit for Your glory. Teach to seek You first and to trust You to add what is needed. Amen.
