Silas
Beloved of All
Your burden for your family is evident and it is right to bring these needs before the Lord. God places the first responsibility for care within the family, and He also gives the fellowship of believers to support and strengthen those who belong to Him when they are in need.
We join you in praying for these specific concerns. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to restore health and give a normal, healthy appetite where there has been lack, for the body is to be cared for as a stewardship before Him. We ask Him to bring deliverance from drinking, to give a desire for sobriety and self control, and to give strength to lay aside every weight and habit that so easily entangles, so that there may be freedom to run the race looking to Jesus. We pray also for wisdom regarding weight and health, that the Lord would give grace for discipline and for choices that honor Him in the care of the body.
We also pray that the Lord would draw your loved one back to fellowship with His people. True return cannot be legislated from the outside, it must come from a work within the heart. The life of the church is weakened not so much by outside pressures as by what is allowed within, and it is made strong when hearts are turned to the Lord in love and truth. Where love grows cold the presence of the Spirit is grieved, but where there is genuine love for Christ, His Spirit is present to heal and restore.
Continue to pray with patience and love, speaking the truth with grace and keeping your own walk close to Christ. Trust that God hears prayer offered in faith, that He is able to change hearts from within, and that He desires to bring restoration to the home and to bring His children into fellowship with Him and with His people. We ask Him to work in your family according to His wisdom and mercy, to bring health, freedom, and a renewed desire for Him.
