We join with you in bringing your family and your needs before our heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing your heart so honestly with us.

We hear your burden for your loved one who is drinking and eating unhealthily and we agree with you that this needs to change. Scripture teaches us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We are also warned not to be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18. Overindulgence in food and drink is not simply a health issue but a spiritual one that can hinder our walk with the Lord and harm the body He gave us. Yet we also know that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23 and God is able to give strength to overcome. We pray for deliverance from these habits and for a desire for what is wholesome and life giving, and we encourage loving accountability, prayer, and practical steps toward healthier choices, trusting that God provides a way of escape from every temptation 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We also lift up your loved ones who are suffering with back pain and with side and stomach pain. Our God is compassionate and He cares about our physical suffering. He says I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds Jeremiah 30:17 and reminds us that He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3. We ask the Lord to touch these bodies with His healing hand, to give wisdom to any doctors involved, and to bring relief and restoration according to His perfect will. We also pray for peace for you as you carry concern for them, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

We hear your cry as a struggling professional woman seeking freelance work and provision. The Lord sees your diligence, your applications, and your need, and He knows the desires of your heart. We pray that He will cause your experience and skills to stand out to those making decisions and that He will open doors that no one can shut. We encourage you to commit your work to the Lord and trust that He will establish your plans Proverbs 16:3 and to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23. Our God has promised to supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and we trust Him to provide for you. We also encourage you to continue to be faithful in prayer and in stewardship, bringing every anxious thought to Him with thanksgiving, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We noticed that your prayer refers to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently and lovingly want to share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly approach God’s throne of grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved Romans 10:9.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear sister and her family to You. Lord, we ask You to break the hold of unhealthy drinking and eating in her loved one’s life. Fill that heart with Your Spirit and grant self control, strength, and a renewed mind to honor You with the body. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon those suffering with back pain and with side and stomach pain. Ease their discomfort, restore their health, and comfort them with Your presence. Father, we ask for Your provision for this sister. You know the two positions she has applied for and her desire to use her gifts through freelance work. We ask that You guide the hearts of those reviewing her applications, let her experience shine, and open the right doors for her according to Your perfect will. Provide for her needs, give her peace as she waits on You, and help her to trust You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6. We hear how many worries are resting on you at once, loving your family through health struggles while trying to keep steady work coming in. That is a lot to hold, and we are grateful you brought it honestly before the Lord.

We are joining you in prayer for each person you named, for relief from pain and for healthier days ahead, and for you as you wait to hear back about those two freelance roles you care about so much. Waiting after putting yourself out there can feel especially vulnerable when income is tight.

One small thing that sometimes helps in that waiting is to have a trusted friend or mentor glance at how you described your experience, just to make sure your strengths come through clearly, and to mark a gentle follow-up date if you have not heard back in a week or so. It does not change God's provision, but it can bring a bit of peace to know you have done what you can.

For the back, side and stomach pain you mentioned, we encourage you to have those checked by a medical professional as you continue to pray, so you have clear guidance and care.

Your petitions have been heard and we have carried them together to the throne of grace, where Christ our great Physician ever liveth to intercede.

We pray first for your family. For the one given to drinking and to unhealthful habits, we ask the Lord to work a true healing within. The Scriptures tell us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. May the Lord in mercy subdue the craving for strong drink and give a spirit of temperance and self control, that the body which is the temple of God may be kept in soberness and health. We ask Him to create a new taste and a new desire, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, and when Christ forgives He also heals and makes whole.

For those who suffer bodily pain, the one with pain in the back and the one with pain in the side and stomach, we entreat the Lord who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases and rightly seek a physician, and we pray that you will seek such help as God has provided, while looking above all to Jesus, in whom is abundance of healing power. His salvation will at last perfectly heal our bodies, and even now the Sun of Righteousness can rise upon His people with healing in His wings. May it please the Lord to lay His hand upon these afflicted ones, to ease their pain, to restore strength, and to give wisdom to any who care for them.

For yourself, struggling and seeking honest work, we ask our heavenly Father who knoweth what things we have need of to open a door of provision. You have applied for work which you desire, and we pray that if it be for your good and for His glory, the Lord would cause your experience to be noticed and would incline the hearts of those who decide. And if in His wisdom He has another path, we pray He will still provide for your daily bread and keep you from anxious care, for He feedeth His people and withholdeth no good thing from them that walk uprightly. Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this family. Forgive sin, heal disease, break the power of evil habit, and supply all need according to Thy riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We join you in bringing these needs before the Lord and we thank you for sharing them so openly.

We pray for your family member who struggles with drinking and eating without restraint. Scripture teaches us not to despise the body but to care for it for health and not for indulgence, and to make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its cravings but to walk with self control and sobriety. We ask God to grant repentance where there is excess, strength to turn from what harms the body, and a desire for what is wholesome and temperate, so that the body may be kept in health for His service.

We also lift up those in your family who suffer pain in the back and in the side and stomach. The Lord knows our frame and has compassion on our infirmities. We ask Him in His mercy to bring relief and healing according to His will, to give wisdom to any who care for them, and to grant comfort and patience in affliction.

For your own need we pray as well. You have described yourself as a struggling professional with little income and you have applied for freelance work that you would love to receive. God sees your diligence and your need. We ask Him to provide for you, to open the right doors, to let your experience and faithful work be seen clearly by those who are hiring, and to move hearts to contact you. We pray that whatever work He provides will be honest and fruitful and will sustain you.

As you wait on the Lord, keep His word close. When you return home, take your Bible into your hands and, as you are able, gather your household to hear it and to pray together before you turn to the business of the day. In this way zeal is kept alive and the heart is guarded from being weighed down by anxiety and desire. Cast all your care on Christ, who alone is our salvation and our hope, and trust Him to supply what you need day by day.

I have prayed with you for your family member who is struggling with drinking and unhealthy eating. Pray that God would give strength to turn from what harms the body and bring a desire for what is healthy and life giving. Real change often needs both prayer and practical steps, so ask the Lord for wisdom to encourage without nagging, to speak the truth with kindness, and to respond to any adversity with love. God can work in the heart to bring conviction and a new desire for wholeness.

I have also prayed for the pain you described, the back pain and the side and stomach pain in your loved ones. Scripture shows that Jesus has power over sickness. He healed the leper, the servant of the centurion, the mother of Peter, and many others who were brought to Him, and He still has authority over the physical body and over spiritual powers. At the same time the Bible teaches that healing comes in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes of healing that God Himself designed in our bodies, which are no less divine because they are natural. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his own thorn in the flesh and the Lord chose not to remove it, to teach dependence and grace. That reminds us we cannot presume that God will heal in every case as we ask, and when healing does not come it is not necessarily a sign of sin or lack of faith. We do not always understand why some are healed and others are not, but we can trust that God is able, that He hears, and that His will is wise and loving. The elders are instructed in Scripture to pray for the sick, and we join in that simple, faithful prayer for relief and restoration, while also encouraging wise medical care as part of God's provision.

I have prayed too for your work. The Lord knows what it is to have little and to live without abundance, for Jesus Himself was born into poverty and knew what it meant to have no place and to borrow even a coin for an illustration. He understands financial pressure and the anxiety of waiting for a response. I asked that God would guide those who review your applications, that your experience and skills would be clearly seen, and that He would open the right doors for freelance work to provide for your needs. Continue to do good work diligently and commit your way to Him, trusting that He can provide in unexpected ways and that He gives joy even in times of lack.

Above all, the greatest need for each of us is salvation. God has made only one provision for the forgiveness of sins and the removal of guilt, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ who gave His body and shed His blood for us. Physical healing and daily provision are precious, but to go into eternity whole with Christ is of infinitely greater value than any temporary relief. If you and your loved ones have not already done so, turn to Jesus in faith, trust His finished work alone for forgiveness, and rest in the witness of the Holy Spirit that you belong to Him. When we belong to Him we also belong to a new family, the family of God, where the bond in Christ can be even deeper than blood ties, and where we find comfort and support when our own families struggle.

May the Lord give you wisdom in each decision, provide for your daily needs according to His riches, pour out His love in your home, and help you to walk in kindness and peace through every challenge. May He draw you and your family closer to Himself and bring healing and hope according to His perfect will.
