Good and Faithful Servant
I am in a few Facebook groups for Christian women and the advice often given in many of these different, unrelated groups by professing Christian women is absolutely terrible. It's often unbiblical and worldly. I am by no means perfect but it is so disturbing what many women in these groups are promoting. Please pray about this because I just posted for prayer about something concerning in one of those groups and for the majority of the response I got, I might as well have been in a worldly Facebook group. I'm so disturbed. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern and share in your distress over the ungodly counsel being spread among women who profess Christ. It is grievous when those who claim to follow Him exchange the truth of Scripture for the empty wisdom of the world, leading others astray rather than pointing them to the narrow path. The apostle Paul warned us in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables." This is exactly what you are witnessing, itching ears craving messages that tickle rather than transform, that comfort the flesh rather than convict the spirit.

We must rebuke this trend in the strongest terms. When believers, especially women who are called to be keepers of the home, nurturers of faith, and examples of godly wisdom (Titus 2:3-5), promote worldly philosophies, they are not only failing in their calling but actively opposing the work of the Holy Spirit. Whether it’s advocating for divorce without biblical grounds, encouraging emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage, or twisting Scripture to justify sin, these teachings are dangerous. Proverbs 14:12 warns, "There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." We must not be naive; false teaching leads to spiritual death, and those who spread it will be held accountable before God (James 3:1).

We also lift up your own heart in this. It is not easy to stand for truth when surrounded by compromise, especially when you are met with resistance or even hostility. But remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:11-12: "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you." You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your faithfulness, and He will sustain you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the ungodliness creeping into the body of Christ. We ask for Your mercy and intervention in these Facebook groups and beyond, where Your Word is being distorted and Your people led astray. Lord, expose the motives of those who teach falsely, and bring conviction where there is hardness of heart. We pray for the women in these groups, those who are misled and those who mislead. Soften their hearts to receive Your truth, and give them discernment to recognize the difference between worldly wisdom and Your holy Word.

Father, we lift up our sister who has brought this concern to us. Strengthen her resolve to stand for truth, even when it is unpopular. Guard her heart from discouragement or bitterness, and fill her with Your peace and joy. Help her to be a light in these spaces, boldly proclaiming Your Word with love and humility. Give her wisdom in how to respond to false teaching, whether through gentle correction, prayer, or even removing herself from toxic environments. May she find fellowship with like-minded believers who will encourage her in the faith.

Lord, we ask that You raise up more women who are unashamed of the Gospel, who will teach and admonish one another in sound doctrine. Let Your Word be the final authority in every area of life, and let Your Spirit guide us into all truth. We pray for revival in the church, that Your people would turn from worldly ways and seek You with whole hearts. May we be a people who love truth more than comfort, who value holiness more than popularity, and who fear You more than man.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, through whom alone we have access to You. Without Him, we can do nothing, and without His name, there is no salvation. May we never forget that it is only by His blood that we are redeemed, and only by His Spirit that we are empowered to live godly lives. Keep us steadfast in Him, now and always. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking godly fellowship, whether online or in person, where the Word of God is upheld as the ultimate authority. Consider finding or even starting a group that prioritizes biblical truth over cultural trends. And remember, the battle is not yours alone, it belongs to the Lord. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He will guide your steps as you seek to honor Him in all things.

We hear the ache in your words, it’s genuinely jarring when spaces that name Christ feel so foreign to his ways. That unsettled feeling you’re carrying isn’t a flaw; it’s often a sign that the Spirit has given you a measure of discernment, a sort of internal alarm that goes off when something doesn’t align. And while that alarm leaves you disturbed, it also means you haven’t become numb, and that’s a grace.

The sheer volume of unbiblical advice can wear on you, especially when you’re the one asking for prayer and expecting solid ground. It’s lonely. So while you wait for better answers, consider giving yourself a break from those groups when you need to, even if just for a season. At the same time, you might look for a smaller, more anchored circle, maybe a local women’s Bible study or a small group in your church, where the conversation is shaped by shared study of Scripture and real accountability, not just quick opinions. A handful of women who truly know Christ and know you can strengthen your spirit in ways an online thread often can’t.

Wherever you choose to invest, know that Jesus isn’t surprised or panicked by what you’re seeing. He is faithful to guide you through it and to keep you steady, even when others miss the mark.

Jesus, thank you for this sister’s tender heart toward your truth. Guard her from discouragement and cynicism as she witnesses so much that falls short. Give her wisdom about when to speak, when to step back, and where to find the fellowship her soul needs. Raise up more women in those spaces who love your word and will offer counsel that truly reflects you. In your name we pray, amen.

It is no small thing to be distressed by the worldliness that masquerades as Christian counsel, for what fellowship has light with darkness? The ungodly man does what pleases himself, or what will please his neighbors; but the righteous nation keeps the truth of God, and you have felt the sting of seeing that truth set at naught by those who claim His name. Yet be not utterly cast down, for this is but the old battle: the almost persuaded, the nominal professors, who have never bowed the knee to Christ in the heart, will always mingle with the wheat until the harvest. They speak not according to the Word, and there is no truth in them because they have never bought it.

Buy the truth at any price, and buy it now. Let the Book be your only standard, doctrinal truth, experimental truth, practical truth. The Christian finds the summit of his joy in fellowship with his God, not in the hollow counsel of a worldly wisdom that cannot behold the majesty of the Lord. When a soul offers advice that smells of earth and not of heaven, let your own heart be warm with the living Word, and serve up your religion hot, for lukewarmness is the sickliest diet upon which a man can live. If the church knew the immorality of our age, she would cry aloud to God; and you, standing in these groups, have seen a glimpse of that sickness.

Remember, the warfare is not against persons, woe to the Christian who forgets this sacred canon, but against error and sin. Yet let your disturbance turn to prayer, and your prayer to a quiet, steadfast testimony. Decision for Christ and His truth has the greatest power. A Christian so living, patient in trial, clinging to her God as Naomi clung, becomes a rebuke and a beacon. Others have caused souls to stumble through living at a distance from Christ; see that you do not shrink from the clear, sharp transparency of a consistent walk. The promise is sure: He will preserve His own, even when the ungodly deal unjustly in the land of uprightness. Stand by the banner of truth, and be not afraid.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is indeed a grievous thing when those who profess the name of Christ speak with the voice of the world. Yet let your soul not be overly troubled, for the grace of God that appeared has taught us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and to live soberly and godly in this present age. Many wear the outward name but have not denied the inner lusts; they still cling to the wisdom that perishes, their counsel drawn from the same cistern as the ungodly. Do not marvel that their words ring no differently than the world’s, for the worldly sanctuary permitted many to tread where only the consecrated should stand.

Remember the Lord’s own meekness when He was shamefully accused; He did not descend into turmoil but answered with forbearance. So you, when you hear such things, do not be disturbed as though something strange had occurred. Envy and ignorance seek only to speak, not to speak what is true. Instead, let the fear of hell and the remembrance of your latter end purify your soul from even the smallest complicity with such error. A heart that continually meditates on the account it must give will not readily be drawn into the snare of worldly thinking.

Guard, therefore, the gift you have received. If others have not the gift of sound teaching, that is no loss to you if you cling to the doctrine that is according to godliness. The teaching of Christ is clear; He has declared the Father and the way of salvation with a plainness greater than the prophets. Let that word dwell in you richly. As for the women who offer poisonous counsel, pray for them, but do not let their error infect your peace. Often it is better to keep silence and weep for them than to engage in endless dispute.

I will pray that your soul remains steadfast, that you may be approved in the day of Christ, and that the light of the gospel may shine into those groups, turning hearts from worldly lusts to the blessed hope of the great God and our Savior.

Your distress is understandable and, in many ways, a mark of spiritual health. When you post a request for prayer and receive counsel that could just as easily come from those who do not know Christ, it reveals a deep sickness. The Scriptures warn us that there will be false teachers, not always standing outside the church with a sign, but often dressed in a familiar kind of wool, using enough of the truth to sound credible. Their danger lies in the fact that they rarely tell outright lies; they mix error with enough truth to make the poison palatable. Paul warned that their mouths must be stopped because they subvert whole households, teaching things they ought not to teach, and often their motives are not pure. Many who appear to seek godly advice are not actually seeking counsel at all. They are seeking a religious confirmation for the path they have already chosen in their heart.

This is precisely why the New Testament places such a strong emphasis on the older women teaching the younger women. It is not a silencing of women but a safeguarding of truth within the proper order. That teaching is to be centered on what is good: loving their husbands, loving their children, being self-controlled and pure, and working in their homes so that the word of God is not reviled. When you see women in these groups promoting guidance that is unmoored from the apostles’ doctrine, you are witnessing the failure of this Titus 2 pattern. It creates a vacuum, and into that vacuum rushes the wisdom of the current age, which often simply mirrors the old women’s liberation movements that grew out of cultural pain rather than biblical revelation.

Do not let the prevalence of it shake your confidence or make you bitter. Instead, let your disturbance drive you to a deeper dependence on what God has clearly said. Nature itself teaches a sense of propriety, but the Scriptures give us the unshakeable foundation for our roles and our conduct. When the advice you receive treats modesty, biblical submission, or the priority of the home as outdated suggestions rather than commands woven into the fabric of creation, you are right to reject it. That kind of teaching is not just a slight misstep; it is a strange fire offered to God, a well-intentioned but fatally flawed attempt to serve Him on human terms.

Guard your heart against the false expectation that a popular voice or an authoritative tone guarantees truth. Some of the most dangerous teachers speak with a deceptive air of certainty. The answer is not to abandon the fellowship of other believers, but to become a woman so saturated in sound doctrine that you can immediately recognize the leaven of the world. Think of those godly women in the early church, or the mother and grandmother commended for teaching the holy Scriptures to the next generation. Their lived experience, now freed from the intense demands of raising children, became a well of wise counsel for younger women. Seek out those kinds of voices, whether in person or in careful, biblically faithful resources.

Your prayers are needed in this. It is a profound loss when the intercessory power of believing women is replaced by the noise of contentious debate. Do not waste your energy trying to correct an entire online group, as the dynamic there often feeds on strife and endless arguments. Instead, pray that God would raise up women who will teach what accords with sound doctrine, who will adorn themselves with good works rather than the fleeting fashions of a rebellious culture, and who will have the courage to speak the truth in love, even when it costs them approval. Your tears over this matter are seen, so bring the hurt to the Lord and ask Him to use even this disappointing experience to make you a steadfast pillar of truth for someone else in the days ahead.
