Thank you for letting us pray with you about your eyes after retina surgery. We are bringing your need before the Lord and asking Him for restored health and clear sight in Jesus name.
We believe God still heals today. Scripture shows Jesus healing every kind of sickness and disease, and Matthew connects that to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities. That tells us God cares about physical healing, not only spiritual healing. At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. The Bible shows Jesus healing in different ways. Sometimes with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes instantly and once gradually in stages where a blind man first saw dimly and then clearly. He is not limited to one pattern, and a gradual recovery is no less from God than an instant touch. The steady healing processes He built into our bodies are His work as well, because He created those processes.
We also know from Scripture that we cannot presume healing will always come exactly as and when we ask. Paul prayed three times about his thorn in the flesh and God answered differently than he expected. Good people still face illness and it does not mean there is hidden sin or a lack of faith. It is wrong to place that kind of blame on someone who is suffering. What we can do is keep trusting Jesus Himself, the light of the world who has power over our bodies and our lives, and bring our needs to Him with simple faith.
So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this person to You after retina surgery. You know the condition of the eyes and the desire for restored sight. We ask for Your healing hand upon the retina and the whole eye, for a full and healthy recovery, for wisdom and skill for the doctors who provide care, and for peace and strength while healing continues. Whether You work instantly or through the gradual process You designed, we trust You and thank You for Your mercy and care. Let Your will be done and let Your comfort and presence be felt each day. Amen.
