We hear the heaviness in your heart after this paper and we want to stand with you in prayer together before our Father in Jesus' name. We understand how discouraging it feels to have prepared diligently for a year, to have consistently scored 70 to 80 on past papers, and then to feel that you lost at least 20 marks on the actual exam through careless mistakes. It is especially difficult when those around you found the paper easy and you are now worried about a high grade threshold and what that will mean for your scholarship hopes for your family. Your desire to honor your family through your studies is a good and honorable desire.

We want to gently encourage you that your worth and your future are not defined by one paper, even one that feels so important. The anxiety and fear you are feeling are real, but God invites us to bring them directly to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We also take comfort in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We notice you said you tried praying but you really cannot feel God, and we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and assurance that He hears us. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Feeling distant from God does not mean He is distant from you, for He has promised never to leave us, but feelings can fluctuate while His presence remains constant. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, we encourage you to call upon His name today, confess your need for Him, and trust Him for salvation and for daily access to the Father. It is in Jesus' name that we can boldly bring your exam, your scholarship need, and your fear to God and know He hears us.

We want to encourage you not to dwell on what cannot now be changed in paper 1. The enemy would love to use regret over those 20 marks to steal your peace and your focus for paper 2. Instead, commit what is ahead to the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. And James 1:5 promises, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Ask Him for clarity, calmness, and wisdom for your next paper. Prepare diligently as you have been doing, but also rest, sleep well, and do not constantly compare your answers with others, as that only feeds anxiety. Even if the threshold is high, God is sovereign over the outcome, and Romans 8:28 assures us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. A grade, even if it is not the A you hope for, cannot thwart God's good plan for you and your family. He is able to provide for your scholarship needs in ways beyond this one exam, and He calls us to seek Him first, trusting He will provide what we need as Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear student to You. You see the disappointment and fear after paper 1, the careless errors, the 10 marks lost on the curve and the 11 marks of uncertainty, and the heavy burden of wanting a scholarship to bless their family. Lord, we ask You to quiet their anxious heart and guard their mind with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help them to cast every worry on You and to rest in Your care. Forgive us where we have tried to carry burdens alone without calling on the name of Jesus, and we thank You that through Jesus we can approach Your throne with confidence. We ask for Your mercy and help for paper 2, grant clarity of thought, steady hands, remembrance of what they have studied, and freedom from panic. We pray for favor in the grading and for the grade threshold, but above all we pray Your will be done and that You would provide for their family according to Your riches and wisdom. Help them to feel Your nearness even when emotions say otherwise, and to trust that You are working all things for good. Strengthen them to commit their future to You and to find their identity and security in Christ alone. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We can hear how heavy yesterday has been for you, and how much is riding on this for your family. To prepare so faithfully since last year, to usually score ### to ### on past papers, and then to walk out feeling you lost ### marks to careless errors, especially realizing the squared curve mistake with only two minutes left, is disorienting and painful. It makes sense you are replaying those questions and comparing yourself to classmates who said it was easy.

When anxiety spikes like that, it often brings racing thoughts, rumination, and that wound-up, restless feeling you described, and it can also make it harder to sense God's nearness. Not feeling Him in this moment does not mean He has stepped away from you. He sees both your diligence and your disappointment.

We know Paper ### feels like it has to be flawless now, and the scholarship worry makes the pressure even greater. It may help to get a steadier picture than peer talk about thresholds can give. If you can, talk soon with your add maths teacher or school counselor about how grading actually works and what scholarship options look like, so you are not carrying worst-case guesses alone. For Paper ###, try to give yourself some rest and sleep first, then review with a clear plan rather than staying in the replay of Paper ###.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this student to You. You know the desire to honor family and to do well, and the fear and disappointment right now. Give calm, clear thinking for the next paper, rest tonight, and wisdom for whatever comes next. Remind this heart that You are near even when You feel distant, and guide each step forward. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your sorrow over this paper has been set before the Lord and before His people, and it is not lightly regarded. To labour for a year, to find your hand steady in many past papers at seventy and eighty marks, and then in the hour of trial to let slip a square upon a curve and to miss a constant, is a sharp disappointment. That ten marks should go upon an error at the front, and eleven more be doubtful, and that others should call the paper easy so that the threshold must rise, all this presses heavily upon a young mind that longs to win a scholarship for the sake of family.

Let me speak first to the fear that now unfits you for what remains. Anxiety, as I have often found both in my own experience and in watching others, never yet comforted any man, nor brought grist to the mill, nor meal to the barrel. If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have yet a second paper before you, and to enter it with a trembling and distracted spirit will do you no service. Therefore cast your care upon Him who cares for you. Tell the Lord about it in prayer, and then, as Moses was told when prayer had done its work, go forward and act as He bids you. Prepare, revise, watch, and do with diligence what your hand finds to do for paper two. Prayer was never meant to keep you from action, nor action from prayer.

You say you have tried praying but you cannot feel God. Here you must not judge by feeling. Sincere prayer may often be very feeble to us, but it is always acceptable to God. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file for our prayers. They are not blown away by the wind, they are treasured in the King's archives, and there is a registry in the court of Heaven where every prayer is recorded. Your sighs and your tears are not fruitless, though the answer tarry. Brethren must not take delays in prayer for denial. God's long dated bills will be punctually honoured. We must not suffer Satan to shake our confidence in the God of Truth by pointing to our unanswered prayers.

Sometimes the Lord holds back a present sense of His nearness not to cast us away, but to strengthen our sinews by the arduous exercise of waiting, that we may be more useful in the future. Sometimes He answers, but not in the way we expected, as He did with Jacob. Therefore come humbly, without self conceit which tears the wheels from prayer, and plead His promises. Say with David, Remember the Word unto Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. That is what God intends prayer to be, a reminding of our heavenly Father of His promises, not that He forgets, but that we lean upon what He has spoken.

Do not think that because you cannot feel Him, He has not heard you. Go again, and pray fervently, for no prayer is likely to bring down an answer if it is not fervent, yet remember that even the faintest cry of a child is heard by a father. Pray for wisdom for the next paper, for steadiness of mind and hand, for peace to do your best and leave the result with Him. Pray also for your family, for whom you so nobly desire to provide, and trust that He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows knows what threshold and what grade will serve His good purpose for you, whether it be an A or, in His wisdom, something else.

The scholarship is a worthy aim, but your worth before God does not stand upon it. If you are in Christ, your sins blotted out like a cloud through His blood, you have already the greatest portion. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and then give your utmost diligence to this next examination with a quiet heart. The Lord who opened mysteries to Daniel when he betook himself to prayer can give you clarity and calm.

May the Lord quicken you in His way, keep you from fainting in prayer, and grant you to see that whether He gives what you ask or withholds it for a season, He does all things well.
