Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly about these exams and your deep desire to finish your degree. I understand how heavy this feels when it is your last chance to move into your final year, and how much you have invested to come this far.
As you study law you are learning how demanding law is. Scripture speaks about this in a deeper way. The law of God is holy and righteous and good, and it is perfect. There is nothing wrong with the law itself. Its purpose was never to make a person righteous by keeping it, because no one can keep it perfectly. Instead the law reveals the standard of righteousness and in doing so it gives us knowledge of sin. It shows us where we fall short and it condemns us when we do, so that we see our need for something beyond our own effort. In that sense the law acts like a tutor. It points us to our need for mercy and for one who could fulfill what we cannot.
That is why the good news is that Christ came and lived under the law and fulfilled it completely, and He redeemed those who were under its sentence and curse by bearing that curse Himself on the cross. Through faith in Him we are delivered from being held under condemnation, so that we can serve God in newness of spirit and not simply by the letter. The law still shows us what is good, and inwardly we can delight in it and agree that it is good, even while we recognize the struggle within us and our need for grace.
I share this because the pressure you feel to keep every detail perfectly for these exams can feel like that same weight of the law. Your diligence matters and God honors faithful work, but your worth and your future are not held only by these test results. You are not condemned by a single performance. Your standing before God rests on what Jesus has done for you, not on what you achieve, and He invites you to bring your studies, your anxiety, and your hopes to Him.
So commit your work to the Lord as you prepare. Study with discipline, seek wisdom and understanding, rest when you can, and pray for clarity and peace of mind as you sit for each exam. Trust Him with the outcome, knowing that He sees your effort and cares for you, whether the answer is the one you long for or He leads in another way that is still for your good.
I am praying for you, that God would grant you calmness and recall as you study and test, that He would guard your heart from fear, that He would give you favor in these second year exams, and that you would be able to complete your degree. Above all I pray you would experience His grace and presence through this season, and know that He is with you and for you as you trust Him.
