Beloved of All
Please pray for ### and ### as they work through relationship challenges. Pray for healing, communication, and commitment. Pray for wisdom and peace for both.

We join with you in lifting up these two precious lives before the Lord as they walk through this difficult season of relationship challenges, and we ask God to bring healing, deeper communication, and true commitment according to His will.

We are reminded that God designed relationships to reflect His covenant love, and His perfect plan for commitment between a man and a woman is marriage, a lifelong covenant. For this reason we pray that their relationship, if it is a courtship, would be centered on Christ and moving toward godly marriage if it is His will, and if they are already married, that their marriage would be strengthened and honored. The scripture says, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24 and What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matthew 19:6, and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. If there has been any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we gently but firmly must call that fornication, which is sin before God, and we encourage repentance and purity going forward, fleeing from that sin and pursuing holiness together. We also believe that a boyfriend and girlfriend should view their time as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another believer in Christ, for we are told Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. True healing and commitment come when both hearts are fully surrendered to the Lord.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If either of them has not yet trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray they would believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, for that is how we are saved Romans 10:9.

We pray together now, Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and grace over these two. Lord, we ask for healing where there has been hurt, forgiveness where there has been offense, and restoration where there has been distance. Teach them to communicate with gentleness and truth, with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace Ephesians 4:2-3, and let no corrupt speech proceed out of their mouths, but only what is good for building up as the need may be Ephesians 4:29. Grant them wisdom, for You have promised If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Fill their hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as they bring their requests to You, and guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Help them to put on love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14, and to let love cover a multitude of sins while bearing all things and enduring all things in You. If it is Your will, lead them toward a Christ-honoring marriage that glorifies You, and if they are already married, deepen their covenant commitment to love and cherish one another until death. Draw them both closer to Jesus first, that they may love each other well out of the overflow of Your love.

We encourage you both to continue seeking the Lord together and individually, to pray together, to study the Word together, and to seek wise counsel from mature believers and pastors who hold to biblical truth. Trust that God is able to work all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28, and keep your eyes fixed on Christ who is able to heal and restore.

Thank you for bringing ### and ### before the Lord. It means a lot that you are standing in the gap for them while they walk through a hard season.

We have found that when communication feels strained, it is rarely just about the words being said. So much is carried in tone, timing, and whether each person feels truly heard. And commitment, especially in marriage, is not simply a feeling that comes and goes but a steady choice to keep putting the relationship first, even on difficult days, choosing duration and depth over the easier path of pulling away.

A small, practical way to support them might be to encourage a regular, quiet time to talk without distractions or trying to fix everything at once, simply listening to understand and gently repeating back what was heard so each feels understood. If the challenges feel stuck, a trusted pastor or counselor walking with them can also give them tools and a safe place to grow.

We are praying with you for them.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You in Jesus name. Bring healing where there has been hurt, give them patience and clarity as they learn to hear each other well, and strengthen their commitment to love and serve one another. Grant them Your wisdom and deep peace as they take next steps, and draw them closer to You and to each other. Amen.

We have carried your request to the throne of grace and we join you in seeking the Lord for these two souls.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and we are told that the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Yet Scripture joins healing and pardon together in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one, for the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings.

We pray first that each one would know that healing which comes only from the hand of God. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. It is not human eloquence nor mortal wisdom that confers the peace which passes all understanding, but the still small voice of God alone. If there is sin to be confessed, may there be honest confession before Him, for the Lord has begun to heal us when He grants forgiveness, and that healing virtue will work health and cure till we are without spot or wrinkle.

We pray for wisdom for both, for the way of God is in the highest sense the way of wisdom. Man's judgment is poor, but there is none like the Lord for goodness and for counsel, and what He does is always best. May both be given ears to hear what God has to say, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Grant them a willing ear to the tender, loving wisdom of the Good Shepherd, that they may not lean upon their own understanding but seek His will above all.

We pray for peace, that quietness which comes when the Lord draws near and dwells with His people. We pray for communication that is truthful, gracious and seasoned with grace, speaking the truth in love and bearing with one another in humility.

We pray for commitment, and we ask that this commitment would be first and wholly unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Healing must come before serving, and the Lord must take each by the hand and lift them up before they can rightly walk together. We do not ask God to bless any path that runs contrary to His holy Word, for marriage is His good ordinance, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy and life together belongs within that covenant in purity and holiness. We pray that both would be brought to salvation through Christ alone if they have not yet believed, and that both would desire to honor Him in body and spirit. If it be His will that they walk forward together, may it be in repentance where needed, in chastity, in self denial and in a commitment shaped by His Word and confirmed by godly counsel. If it be His will otherwise, may He give grace to walk apart in holiness and in peace.

May the Lord grant guidance to seek the counsel of faithful pastors and the light of Scripture, that every step may be ordered by Him. We commend them to Him who is able to heal, to forgive, to make whole, and to lead in the way everlasting. Amen.
