Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift you up before the Lord these past days.

We have been praying for you as you carry such a heavy burden of hurt, guilt and confusion after your relationship with your ex. We prayed for you as you shared about knowingly entering an unequally yoked relationship while being rebellious, and the deep sorrow you feel over that disobedience. We prayed for you in your belief that his worsening health and cancer diagnosis was God punishing him for sexual immorality and in your hope that breaking up would spare him. We also prayed for the pain of his rejection when you begged to remain friends, and the fresh hurt you felt when he returned last week to say you left him during his diagnosis and is spreading that narrative to others. We understand how torn you feel wanting to help him and believe the best about him despite recognizing his manipulative and psychologically abusive patterns, and feeling so bad about everything that has happened.

We want to encourage you with the truth of God's Word. God calls us to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers as you referenced in 2 Cor 6:14 and He honors repentance and obedience, but His discipline is not to be confused with cruel punishment. We are reminded in Rom 8:1 that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus and in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Your sin in entering that relationship can be fully forgiven when you bring it to Him, and you do not have to carry this false guilt that you caused his cancer or that you alone could have prevented it by staying or leaving. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says and He heals the brokenhearted as Psalm 147:3 says. We also pray God gives you wisdom as James 1:5 promises, especially regarding boundaries with someone who has been manipulative and abusive. It is right to want to show Christlike kindness, but it is also wise and biblical to guard your heart and seek godly counsel about whether friendship is healthy or safe at this time, and to trust God with your reputation when untrue narratives are spread about you.

We continue to pray for you that God would release you from condemnation and fill you with His peace and assurance of forgiveness, that He would heal your heart from this pain and help you to walk in freedom from guilt. We pray for your ex as well, for his physical healing and above all for his salvation, that God in His mercy would draw him to Himself. We pray that the Lord would protect you from further harm, give you clear discernment about any future contact, and surround you with supportive believers who can counsel you in person.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know how God has worked in your heart and in this situation. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We consider it a privilege to keep standing with you.

We pray all of this in Jesus Name. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
