Ex

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. It is painful when thoughts of a past relationship return, and it shows wisdom and faithfulness that you recognize you cannot be together while he does not share faith in Christ.

We have prayed for you, and we will continue to pray. We asked God to give you peace and comfort in this season of missing him, to heal the ache you feel today, and to guard your heart and mind in Christ. We prayed that He would turn your longing into a deeper longing for Him and for His kingdom, which alone can satisfy and bring lasting joy when earthly affections pull at us. We also prayed that He would build you up through His Word, through prayer, and through fellowship with other believers who can encourage you and walk with you.

We also prayed for your ex, that God in His mercy would draw him to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, that he would come to know the grace and truth of the gospel and be made new.

If these thoughts continue, bring them to the Lord as soon as they come, ask Him to help you trust His good purposes, and stay close to Christian community where you can be encouraged and supported. God sees your faithfulness and your struggle, and He is faithful to sustain you as you seek to honor Him.
