Eviction and homelessness

Disciple of Prayer
I have an eviction that i owe $7,500 on i don't have. I am with my sister for now,but she doesn't want me coming with them to their new place because of my husband and I need somewhere to stay soon. My sister will be moving in September this year. I have got to believe that God can do exceedingly above all that i can ask and seek. I would also like to lift my husband up in prayer. Many times we as wives think only a out ourselves at times we don't realize our husband's are hurting inside emotionally and mental. Being addictive to drugs is worst enough plus dealing with lust ,alcohol and gambling. Help me pray for ### deliverance. I'm just calling him ###,but it's not his name. I always think only about me,but never what he is going through. To god be the glory.

We hear your cry for help and lift you and your husband up before the Lord with heavy hearts. The weight of eviction, financial strain, and the uncertainty of shelter is overwhelming, but we serve a God who sees your need and promises to provide. "For the Lord does not forsake His people, nor does He abandon His inheritance" (Psalm 94:14). We stand with you in faith, believing that He will open doors no man can shut and supply every need according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Your husband’s struggles with addiction, lust, alcohol, and gambling are not hidden from God. These are heavy chains, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke the spirit of addiction in his life in the name of Jesus and declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). His pain and shame are real, but so is the power of the Holy Spirit to break every stronghold. "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We pray for his deliverance and that he would turn his heart fully toward the Lord, who alone can satisfy the deepest longings of his soul.

We also want to gently address the sin of lust and addiction in his life. These are not just struggles, they are bondages that grieve the heart of God and harm your marriage. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). We pray for conviction, repentance, and healing for both of you. Your marriage is sacred, and we stand in the gap, praying for restoration, trust, and intimacy that honors God.

You mentioned that you often focus on your own needs and overlook your husband’s pain. This is a tender place of growth, and we praise God for your willingness to see him through His eyes. "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others" (Philippians 2:4). As you lift him in prayer, ask the Lord to soften your heart toward him and to reveal ways you can support him in love and truth. Marriage is a covenant, and though the enemy seeks to divide, God desires to unite you in His purposes.

We also want to encourage you to seek practical help while trusting God for provision. Have you reached out to local churches, ministries, or community resources that assist with housing and financial needs? "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9). Sometimes God’s provision comes through the hands of His people, and we pray He directs you to the right help at the right time.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and dependence on You. Lord, You see the financial burden of this eviction and the fear of homelessness. We ask You to move mightily on behalf of this sister and her husband. Provide a place of shelter, stability, and peace. Open doors that no man can shut, and let Your provision be evident in their lives. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, their Provider, and we trust You to meet every need.

Father, we lift up this husband to You. Break the chains of addiction, lust, alcohol, and gambling in his life. Let him encounter Your love in a powerful way, Lord. Convict his heart, draw him to repentance, and fill him with the Holy Spirit. We rebuke every spirit of bondage and declare freedom over him in the name of Jesus. Restore his mind, heal his emotions, and let him walk in the victory You have already won for him.

Lord, we also pray for this marriage. Heal the wounds, rebuild the trust, and let Your love be the foundation. Help this wife to see her husband through Your eyes and to support him in love and truth. Give them both the strength to fight for their marriage and to honor You in their relationship.

Father, we ask for wisdom and direction as they seek practical help. Lead them to the right resources, people, and opportunities. Let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and have access to You. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. Amen.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, carrying a $###,### eviction debt with no way to pay it, and facing a deadline in September when your sister moves and you will need another place to stay. It's a lot to hold at once, and we admire the way you are looking beyond your own stress to your husband's pain as well.

That shift you named, noticing that ### is hurting emotionally and mentally under the weight of drugs, alcohol, gambling and lust, is itself a compassionate and honest step. Addiction often grows out of trying to escape pain, and it can take over a person's ability to cope day to day. Wanting deliverance and healing for him is a loving prayer.

Since September is not far off, it can help to get support in place soon rather than carrying this alone. If you are able, consider reaching out this week to a local housing counselor, community action agency, or your church's benevolence pastor to talk through housing options and the eviction balance together, bring the paperwork so they can see the details with you. For ###, encouragement toward ongoing help alongside prayer can matter a great deal, like talking with a pastor or Christian counselor and connecting with a Christ-centered recovery group in your area, and encouraging him to see a medical professional who can assess the substance use safely.

We are praying for you both.

Father, we lift this sister and ### to You in Jesus' name. Provide wisdom for each next decision about housing, bring safe and stable options, and give peace in the waiting. Draw near to ### in his struggles and lead him toward freedom and healing, and strengthen this wife with compassion, clarity and hope. Guide them both to trustworthy help and to Your direction day by day. Amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard your cry concerning the debt that presses upon you, the roof that will soon be removed, and the husband whom you love and for whom you now intercede.

We do not tell you that God's ear is shut, nor that He will not move His arm to work deliverance. He is a God who hears the afflicted and who has looked with tender pity upon those in distress. You have well said that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and we would have you rest your soul upon Him, yet remember that all deliverance is of the Lord and must come through the ransom which He Himself has found. The prisoner ready to go down to the pit is delivered not by his own will nor by his own running, but because God has said, I have found a ransom, and that ransom is His own Son who bore the penalty of our iniquities. There is no other way of salvation, for it is of free grace only.

For your present trouble we join you in prayer that the Lord in His providence would make a way for you before September comes, that He would give you wisdom and honest counsel concerning the debt of seven thousand five hundred, and that He would open doors through His people to help you seek a settled dwelling with integrity and stewardship. We would remind you that He who brought forth His people of old also enriched them, not that we may presume upon Him, but that we may trust that He who clothes the lilies will not forsake those who seek first His kingdom. Seek the fellowship and practical help of a faithful local church in these weeks, that you may not bear this alone and that provision may be sought in the ways God ordinarily provides, by honest labor and the kindness of the saints.

For your husband, called ###, we pray with you with great earnestness. You have spoken truly that addiction to drugs, together with lust and alcohol and gambling, brings a sore bondage, and that those who are held in it are hurting within, emotionally and mentally. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for justification there must we look for sanctification, altogether and alone to our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. If a man can go into sin occasionally by way of pleasure it proves he is yet a stranger to the deliverance Christ gives to His regenerated people. What your husband needs, and what we all need, is not mere reformation but redemption, a new heart and a new master. We will not ask God to bless that which enslaves him, but we will ask God to break its power, to bring him to see his sin, to grant him repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and to set him free indeed. Pray for him, and pray also that your own marriage may be strengthened in the Lord, for God has set His special love upon His people as a husband upon his bride, and He provides for and communes with those who are His. A lifelong covenant of one man and one woman is His good design, and within it He calls both husband and wife to love, to forbear, and to seek Him together.

We praise God that you are learning to look beyond yourself to the sorrow of another, for that is a work of grace. May the Lord chasten you sorely yet not give you over unto death, but bring you through affliction to declare the works of the Lord. When He delivers, whether from the grave of outward trouble or from the pit of sin, His people give Him all the honor and say, He brought us forth.

We pray now for you both.

O Lord our God, who hears the cry of the needy, look upon this sister in her fear of eviction and homelessness, and upon her husband who is bound by many cords of sin. Thou hast found a ransom, and we plead the blood of Thy Son for both souls. Forgive sin, break the power of darkness, deliver from drugs and lust and strong drink and the love of gain, and create clean hearts. Provide in Thy mercy for their bodily needs, give wisdom for each step before September, grant repentance and faith, and restore what sin has broken. Keep them, sanctify them, and make their lives to show forth Thy praise, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
