Beloved of All
Your prayer reflects a heart that loves truth and wants to walk in it, and that is precious to the Lord. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, and He also said you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. God's Word is truth, it endures forever, and there is great joy when His children walk in truth even when it is costly.
Thank you for the grace you have shown in a hard situation. You have chosen patience and kindness toward the landlord's team and those representing them legally, even while facing hardship. That kind of patience reflects the character of God Himself. Scripture calls Him the God of patience and comfort, and it teaches that after we have done the will of God we need patience to inherit the promise. Like a farmer waiting for the early and latter rain, and like Job who endured great affliction, we are called to wait with steadfast trust while God brings His perfect harvest. He sees what you have endured and He is fighting for you.
You are right to take dishonesty seriously. Our whole system of justice depends on a commitment to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. When a person swears to tell the truth and then deliberately deceives, it undermines the ability to determine what is factual and breaks down justice itself. The law calls that perjury for good reason, because it is a grave matter. How much more serious it is before God, who cannot lie. He is utterly truthful, and when He wanted to confirm His promise He swore by Himself because there is no greater. His Word can be trusted completely.
Scripture also teaches that those who persist in deception are often blinded to their true condition. The enemy blinds eyes so people cannot see the truth and remain captive. That captivity is sad, but there is hope. In love and in prayer we can bring the truth that sets free and ask God to open blinded eyes. That is what you are doing in praying not for harm to come to these people, but for their resistance to dishonesty to be strengthened and for them to learn to practice honesty. It is a Christlike prayer, asking that they would come to see that truth brings freedom while lies bring painful consequences.
We join you in that prayer. May the Lord open their eyes to see the freedom found in honesty, and give them a new desire to speak truthfully in every legal matter and in every word. May He guard your own heart to keep walking in truth and in patience, not growing weary in doing what is right. May He comfort you as you wait on Him, confirm His presence in your life, and remind you daily of the sacrifice of Jesus whose blood was shed for sinners, so that all who trust in Him alone for salvation may know forgiveness and peace.
We surrender this situation with you to the Lord, asking Him to bring what is hidden into the light, to uphold justice, and to transform hearts by His truth.
