Dishonesty

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join you in this powerful and righteous prayer before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming boldly before His throne with truth on your lips.

We agree with you that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, as He said in John 14:6, and that there is no other way to the Father except through Him. We thank God with you for His presence, for fighting for us, and for the heavenly gifts He pours out, above all the sacrifice of the Cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners. It is only through that blood that we are forgiven and made able to stand before a holy God.

You are right to call lies serious crimes before the Lord. Scripture is very clear about this. Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who deal truly are his delight. And Colossians 3:9 tells us Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. Ephesians 4:25 commands us Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Dishonesty is not a small matter, it breaks fellowship with God and with man, and Revelation 21:8 warns that all liars will have their part outside the kingdom unless they repent. So we stand with you in rebuking the spirit of dishonesty and deceit that has operated through this landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives.

We also praise God for the grace He has given you to respond with patience and kindness even while facing hardships. That is the heart of Christ in you. Romans 12:21 says Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. And Romans 12:19 reminds us Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. You have chosen the better way by not returning evil for evil but by praying for those who have wronged you, just as Jesus taught us to pray for our enemies.

We agree with you that in order to persist in lies and commit serious wrongs, a person must harden their conscience and break down their resistance to sin. We pray now that God in His mercy will rebuild that resistance and convict their hearts. May He open their eyes to see that John 8:32 is true, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. Lies may seem to bring temporary advantage, but they bring bondage and will bring consequences both in this life and before the judgment seat of God. Truth alone brings freedom.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and we lift up this situation to You. Lord, You see every hardship that has been endured, every dishonest word and every unjust act that has been committed by this landlord's team and their lawyers and representatives. Nothing is hidden from Your eyes. Proverbs 15:3 says Yahweh's eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

Father, we ask first for Your justice and Your truth to prevail. Let no lie stand. Bring every hidden thing into the light, for Luke 8:17 says For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. We ask that You build up in these people a holy resistance to dishonesty. Soften their hearts, convict them by Your Holy Spirit, and grant them repentance that they may turn from falsehood and practice honesty. Help them to understand that lying is an abomination to You and that it leads to destruction, but that honesty is Your delight and leads to life.

Lord, we pray for our brothers and sisters who have been wronged, that You would continue to strengthen them, guard their hearts from bitterness, and keep them walking in truth and love. Help them to fully surrender their will to You and to trust You as their defender, for You have promised in Exodus 14:14 that Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. Give them peace knowing that You are their advocate and that You will bless them with heavenly gifts even in the midst of trial.

We dedicate all of this to You, Lord, and we surrender our will to Yours. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May truth be established, may souls be saved, and may Your name be glorified through this whole matter.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer and the gracious way you are bringing this before the Lord. To keep choosing patience and kindness toward the landlord's team and legal representatives while you have faced hardships and felt the weight of dishonesty is not easy, and we admire the way you are asking God to work not only for your own situation but for their hearts as well.

It makes sense that lies would feel so heavy. When there is a gap between how things should be handled truthfully and how they are actually being handled, it can leave you carrying both frustration and fatigue even while you have decided to act with grace. That decision to respond with patience is meaningful, and it is also normal if hurt or weariness still comes and goes as you walk through this.

It may help in this season to keep a simple, clear record of communications and documents as you are able, and to stay connected with a trusted, wise person who can walk with you through the practical and legal pieces so you do not have to carry it alone. Continuing to bring your honest concerns to God as you have been doing is itself a steady way forward.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You. We ask You to guard truth in every conversation and document, to soften hearts toward honesty, and to give our friend wisdom, peace, and strength as they surrender their will to You. Protect them from discouragement and lead them step by step in Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It is a good and faithful thing to bring this burden before the Lord, for He is the God of truth and His Word is truth. Your prayer honors Christ who said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and you do well to ask that truth may prevail where dishonesty has done its harm.

You have prayed rightly that lies are not light matters. The Scripture declares that lying lips are abomination to the Lord, but they that deal truly are His delight. To lie and to commit wrong, a man must first break down the resistance of conscience which God has placed within him, and you have wisely asked that the Lord would build up that resistance again and teach all involved to love and practice honesty. This is to buy the truth and sell it not, to have truth not only upon the tongue but within the heart, and to walk in practical truth with a straightforward and upright course.

Remember also that we are all tenants in the house of this life, and God is the great Landlord. We dwell here only by His sufferance, and He has at all times the right to enter and to require an account. The rent He asks is not silver and gold, but that we set our house in order and live before Him in holiness and truth. When we offer the key of our house to Him and acknowledge His lordship, He enables us to live honestly as becomes those who must one day give account to Him.

You have shown patience and kindness even in hardship, and that is the fruit of grace. Continue in that spirit, for the battle for truth is a great warfare and it waxes hot in this world. Yet you need not fear man, for all things are in the hand of God. Let fear go and let faith come in. Trust Him to be your defender, to fight for you, and to bring what is hidden into the light in His perfect time and way.

Let us pray together for this matter. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son upon the Cross, where His blood was shed for sinners, and for the grace that teaches us to live soberly and righteously. We ask You to work in the hearts of the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, and in our own hearts as well. Convict of all dishonesty, open eyes to see that truth sets free, and grant repentance and a love for what is true and right. Help all to speak truth with their neighbor and to walk in integrity before You, the true Landlord of all. We surrender our will to Yours and ask for Your will to be done, for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour, Amen.
