We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The pain of depression, spiritual attack, and feelings of worthlessness can be overwhelming, but we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up to the One who loves you more than you can imagine. First, let us remind you that your worth is not defined by your marital status, whether you have children, or the job you hold. Your worth is found in Christ alone, who created you, redeemed you, and calls you His own. The enemy wants to steal your joy, your peace, and your sense of purpose, but we rebuke those lies in the mighty name of Jesus.

The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8-9, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith." The attacks you are feeling are very real, but they do not have the final say. Jesus came to set you free, and He has already won the victory. We also want to gently remind you that your feelings of being "spiritually far from God" are not the truth, God has not moved. He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even when you don’t feel His presence, He is holding you.

We must also address the lie that you are worthless because you are not married or do not have children. Marriage and parenthood are blessings, but they are not the measure of a person’s value. Jesus Himself was unmarried and childless by earthly standards, yet He was the most perfect, beloved Son of God. Your identity is in Him, not in your circumstances. The enemy wants to isolate you with these thoughts, but we declare that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has a plan and purpose for your life.

Regarding your work situation, we pray for provision and favor. The Lord knows your needs, and He promises in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." You are not forgotten. We also rebuke the spirit of discouragement that tells you God doesn’t care about your struggles. He cares deeply. In fact, He collects every one of your tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are precious to Him.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is hurting deeply. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of depression, spiritual attack, and worthlessness that the enemy has tried to place on them. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell them they are unloved, unwanted, or forgotten. We declare that they are Your beloved child, created for a purpose, and deeply valued by You.

Father, we ask that You would flood their heart with Your love and peace. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding them that You are near. Restore their soul, Lord, and renew their spirit. We pray for breakthrough in their work situation, open doors that no man can shut, and provide a job that honors You and meets their needs. Give them favor with employers and colleagues, and let them find joy and fulfillment in their labor.

Lord, we also pray against the spirit of comparison that has made them feel less than. Remind them that their worth is not found in what they do or what they have, but in who You say they are. Heal their heart from any past wounds or rejections that have fed these lies. Let them walk in the truth of Your Word, knowing that they are chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12).

We command every spiritual attack against them to cease in Jesus’ name. Let Your angels encamp around them, protecting them from the schemes of the enemy. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let them walk in victory, joy, and purpose. We pray for restoration in every area of their life, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly community, believers who will encourage them, pray for them, and walk alongside them. Let them know they are not alone. And finally, Lord, we pray that they would draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to them (James 4:8). Let them experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way today.

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to hold onto God’s promises, even when your feelings tell you otherwise. Spend time in His Word, even if it’s just a few verses a day. Psalm 23, Psalm 91, and Romans 8 are great places to start. Surround yourself with worship music that lifts your spirit and reminds you of God’s faithfulness. And if possible, reach out to a trusted believer or pastor who can pray with you and encourage you. You are not worthless, you are a child of the King, and He has great plans for you. Keep pressing into Him.

We hear you, and we're so sorry you're carrying this much pain right now. When depression wraps around your chest and makes even breathing feel like work, and when the spiritual darkness adds its own weight, it's easy to believe the lie that you're worthless. But that feeling is the depression talking, not God.

The heaviness you're describing, the sense of being spiritually far away, the deep sadness, the physical sense of something taking over, these are all things that depression does. It can make God feel distant even when He hasn't moved. It can convince you that your life doesn't matter because you haven't hit certain milestones. But your worth was never established by a resume or a relationship status. God doesn't measure people that way.

Sometimes the most spiritually faithful thing we can do when we're this low is to reach for the kind of help depression responds to. We'd gently encourage you to speak with a doctor or a trusted Christian counselor about what you're experiencing. The feelings of worthlessness, the spiritual heaviness, the physical sensations in your body, these are real symptoms that deserve real attention, alongside prayer. This isn't a failure of faith; it's wisdom.

And about work: we know how crushing it is to feel stuck. But "worthless jobs" don't make a worthless person. They make a person who hasn't yet found the right open door. You're not forgotten.

Lord Jesus, in Your name we come for our friend. You see the darkness pressing in, the exhaustion, the ache of feeling forgotten and less-than. Please break through with Your nearness. Lead them to the right people who can help carry this load, good medical care, faithful friends, meaningful work. Quiet the voice that says they don't matter. In Your mercy, lift this heaviness and restore hope. Amen.

Your cry rises from the depths, and I hear in it the voice of a soul who fancies himself cut off from before the eyes of the Lord. But tell me, does the vine shriek that the vinedresser has forsaken her because he wields the pruning-knife? Does the sick man call the physician cruel because the draught is bitter? Yet you speak in your haste, as if God has forgotten to be gracious, and has in anger shut up His tender mercies. I do not chide you as though I had never known such a whirlwind of despair, but I would have you see the snare in this mist of unbelief. When a child says under the rod, "My father has forsaken me," he misreads the very stroke that proves his sonship. You say you are worthless because you have no spouse, no children, no honourable labour, while your brothers have these things. But is the Lord's image in you measured by the abundance of earthly gifts? One may be fruitful in affliction and another barren in prosperity. The barren woman may yet sing, and the unemployed labourer may yet do the greater work of learning to trust in the dark.

You feel a spiritual oppression, as though something foul has invaded your very system, and you long to be bombarded by His love and cleansed. I say, let that longing be the evidence that the life is still there. You are not satisfied to think God has forsaken you, that holy dissatisfaction is the pulse of the new nature. Zion, in her anguish, still cried "Jehovah is mine," though she dreamed He had forgotten her. Keep that grip of faith, however illogical it seems. You are not the first to groan from the dust, "I am cut off." Even the Psalmist spoke in his haste, and our blessed Lord Himself cried out of the thick darkness, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" Yet mark well the double grip of His unhesitating faith: "My God, My God." Even when the Father hid His face, the Son did not let go. That cry was for you, that you might never be utterly forsaken. He was deserted for a season that you might be received forever. The stroke due to you fell upon Him, and now, because He stood in the sinner’s place, there is no condemnation left for those who hide in Him.

Cast yourself upon that truth, not upon your feelings. You lament that you have had only worthless jobs, as if God cared nothing for your daily toil. But honest work, however menial, is no curse. Is the foot less a part of the body because it treads in the dust? You are not called to measure your worth by the wages men pay you. The Lord does not despise the labour of the faithful hand, nor does He value a man by his children or his trade. These things are gifts, not merits. If He withholds them, it is not proof of His hatred, but may be a severe mercy. The surgeon cuts to the bone, and the child cries out, "He has forsaken me!" but all the while the sharp knife is the instrument of healing. Your depression of spirit, your sense of worthlessness, your very complaint may be the dark furrow in which He is planting a harvest of humility and dependence.

I urge you now to honest dealing with Him in prayer. Do not cloak your agony or pretend a composure you do not feel. Tell Him plainly, "Lord, I feel nothing. I am wrapped in a deadness that terrifies me. I am jealous of my brothers, ashamed of my empty hands, and I cannot shake off the black thought that You have cast me away." That ragged, panting cry is better than the formal round of words that mask an absent heart. Our Lord’s patience is fathomless, He will not take you at your hasty word and make your complaints true. Instead, He listens to the feeblest sigh of a burdened soul with the tenderness of a Father who discerns the sobbing beneath the wild accusations. When you cannot pray, let the groan be the prayer. When you cannot believe, let the longing for belief be the faith.

And as for the oppression you feel, this spiritual assault that seems to have entered your system, do not think that the presence of the enemy proves the absence of the King. The Canaanite is still in the land precisely because the campaign is not yet over. Cry mightily to Him who came to destroy the works of the devil. Approach the throne with this argument: "Lord, Thou hast redeemed me; take what is Thine. I cannot expel this darkness, but Thou canst say, ‘Go,’ and it goes." The very bitterness of the conflict is a sign that you are not at peace with the world, the flesh, and the devil. The dead in sin lie quiet.

One word more. You say you feel no one cares. The heart lies prone to such a lie when the clouds gather. But there is One who cares beyond all human caring. Did He not wear your flesh and know your sorrows? Did He not weep, and hunger, and feel the stab of treachery and the crush of abandonment? He is touched with the feeling of your infirmities. And, my brother, I care. The church cares. And above all, the pierced hand that holds the stars holds you. You are not worthless, the blood of God’s own Son has set an infinite price upon you. The world may overlook you, your brothers may seem to have the blessing you lack, and your own heart may rise up to condemn you; but God is greater than your heart and knows all things. He knows that you are dust, and He remembers His covenant.

May the Lord soon grant you the sweet breeze from the Hill Beulah, that you may smell the spices of the glory-land even here. May He break in upon your prison with the light of His countenance, and give you work that puts bread on your table and hope in your soul. But even if the wait is long, trust the silence. The manifestation of His love is often nearest when the sense of it is farthest off. I charge you, by the mercies of God, do not let go of that word "My." Say it through clenched teeth if you must, but say it still: "My God, my God." The day will break, and the shadows flee away. The Lord restore your soul, and lead you in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The thought that you are worthless in God’s sight because you have no spouse and no children is not from God. Where in the Scriptures are you commanded to be married to find favor with heaven? The apostle Paul himself chose the single life and called it better for the sake of the kingdom, and the Lord of all had no earthly children. Your worth rests not on a household of your own making, but on the sonship purchased for you by Christ. You have received the Spirit of adoption; by that Spirit you cry out “Father.” No earthly barrenness can revoke that birth. When the enemy whispers that you are forgotten because your brothers have what you lack, answer him with the truth: your better portion, the soul, is free, and your inheritance is kept where no thief approaches.

The same holds for your labor. You say you have known only worthless jobs, and it seems God does not care. But tell me, when a servant obeys a master according to the flesh, is his work meaningless because the world calls it low? The apostle instructs servants to render service with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto Christ. It is no sign of smallness to lower yourself; it is the truest nobility to give way and to labor honestly. When no master sees and yet you do what is right, you do it for the sleepless Eye. That is the fear of God, and he will not forget it. Do not measure your life by the wages or the title. The soul’s freedom is untouched. Your season of service is temporary; the reward of a sincere heart is eternal.

You cry out that you feel far from God and under spiritual assault, as if something has taken hold of your body and you want it gone. I do not dismiss that agony. Even the Lord, when his hour drew near, said, “Now is my soul troubled,” and he sought deliverance from the coming passion, if it were possible. He felt the full weight of mortal dread so that you would know he understands your weakness. Yet he did not flee; he offered himself for the joy set before him. God permits seasons of darkness and attack not because he despises you, but because he grants us more than if he had never allowed the trial. Deliverance from the pain is not so great a gift as learning to trust through the pain. Do not demand that the storm cease at once. The Lord came to his disciples in the fourth watch of the night, after they had rowed long against the wind. He teaches you not to grasp hastily for rescue, but to bear what comes with courage, knowing that his delay is not his absence.

You say you long to go out again to that place. Consider carefully whether this desire is a hope for spiritual refreshment or a wish to escape present afflictions. Those who fled every trial did not gain a better resurrection; those who endured torture and refused deliverance obtained something greater. I do not say it is sinful to seek a change, but test the ground of that longing. If God opens the door, go in peace. If he keeps it shut for a season, do not imagine that your restoration depends on any earthly location. The God who restores souls is not bound to a single city or building. You ask to be bombarded by his love: then remain where you are, in the place of duty and prayer, and let that love find you in the quiet. The Spirit’s work often feels like a hidden fire, not always a rushing gale.

The worthlessness you feel is a lie that must be answered with the facts of the gospel. You are not your own, you were bought with a price. The curse of the Law has been lifted, and sonship has been granted. The body may be weary, the heart shaken, but your identity is fixed. Cling to this: when you cannot feel his care, his care has not wavered. Even the saints of old were cut off without receiving the full promise in this life, looking instead for a better resurrection. Fix your hope there. In the meantime, do not despise the small, daily obedience. Rise, pray, search the Psalms, and perform the work nearest your hand as service offered to Christ himself. Let that be your bombardment by love. The enemy will flee when you turn your gaze from the storm to the one who walks upon its waves.

The heaviness pressing down on you is not just your circumstances. A fierce spiritual battle is raging for your mind, and the enemy is working to drown you in feelings of worthlessness and distance from God. But those feelings, as real as they are, are not the truth. The weapons you need cannot be found in anything physical or in comparing your life to others. They are spiritual, and God has already placed them in your hands.

First, recognize this for what it is. Scripture tells us we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness. The voice telling you that you are worthless because you are not married or do not have children, that God does not care, that something is taking over your body, that is the enemy’s attack. Yet the decisive victory has already been won. On the cross, Jesus triumphed openly over every principality and power. In Him, you do not fight for victory; you stand in victory. Use that authority. Pray plainly, out loud: “In the name of Jesus, I command anything that is in me to go.” Do not bargain with it or dwell on it. The name of Jesus is a mighty spiritual weapon.

Now take hold of another weapon: the truth of God’s Word. Your worth is not defined by a job, a spouse, or children. You are a living stone in a spiritual house, a child of God who is accepted and loved forever. The lie that singleness or barrenness makes you worthless directly opposes what the cross declares. Jesus did not die for you because you had a glowing résumé or a full house; He died for you because you belong to Him. Let that truth be the helmet that guards your mind and the sword that cuts through the enemy’s lies.

Prayer is the great engine of spiritual warfare. Right now, even when you feel spiritually far away and cannot sense His care, cry out. Tell God exactly what you poured out in your request. He can handle your desperation. Ask Him to bombard you with His love, to restore your spiritual life, and to provide work that honors Him. And as you pray, begin to offer spiritual sacrifices of praise, even if you do not feel like it. Speak words of thanks for Jesus, for His victory, for the truth that He has not abandoned you. That praise is a weapon that silences the accuser.

The battle is for your mind. Your fleshly comparisons, your despair over job history, your pain about your brothers having children, the enemy wants to drag you into that fleshly arena where he can make quick work of you. Refuse to fight on that ground. Step back into the spiritual realm, clothed in the armor God gives. Pray in the Spirit. Declare that the victory of the cross applies to this very moment.

You are not forgotten. You are not beyond His reach. The cross proves that God cares more deeply than you can imagine. I am praying with you now: that every dark weight lifts, that you feel His love rushing in, and that whatever has taken hold of your body flees at the name of Jesus. Stand in that victory. It is yours.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the heavy burdens on your heart, and we have continued to lift you before the Lord in prayer these past days. You are not forgotten, and you are certainly not worthless—your value is found in Christ alone, and His love for you is unshakable. We have prayed specifically for the depression and spiritual oppression you described, asking God to break every chain and flood your heart with His peace that surpasses understanding.

We have stood in faith with you for meaningful work, believing that God sees your struggles and will open doors no man can shut. We’ve asked Him to remind you of His presence, even in the moments when He feels distant, and to restore your sense of purpose and worth in Him. You are not defined by marital status, parenthood, or the nature of your job—your identity is rooted in being His beloved child.

If the weight of these battles has lifted even slightly, we would love to rejoice with you in a praise report. If the struggle persists, please know we are still here, ready to press in with you in prayer. We will continue to intercede for spiritual breakthrough, emotional healing, and divine provision, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

May His love surround you like a shield, His grace sustain you, and His Spirit renew your strength day by day. Keep seeking Him—He has not abandoned you, and neither have we. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
