We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for deliverance and healing. Father God, we declare that Your Word stands forever: "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). In the mighty name of Jesus, we break every curse that has been spoken, inherited, or sent against and her son. We command every chain of darkness to shatter, every assignment of the enemy to fail, and every generational stronghold to be demolished by the power of the blood of Jesus.
Lord, we stand on Your promise that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment" (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, sickness, and oppression that has sought to afflict this precious son. Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in his physical health, grant him safe and lasting weight loss, not by worldly standards, but by Your design for his body. Strengthen his metabolism, discipline his appetite, and fill him with energy to care for the temple You have given him. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2).
But Lord, we know that healing must go deeper than the physical. We ask You to touch the wounds of his heart, every rejection, betrayal, or pain from the past. Your Word declares, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Pour out Your balm of Gilead upon him, Jesus. Let him encounter Your love in a way that dissolves bitterness, fear, and shame. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that his worth is found in You alone.
Father, if there has been any unrepentant sin, whether in his life or in the generations before him, that has opened doors to these attacks, we ask for conviction and repentance. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Cleanse this family line with the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.
We also lift up to You. Strengthen her faith as she intercedes for her son. Give her wisdom to speak life, patience to wait on Your timing, and peace that surpasses all understanding. May she find her rest in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Finally, Lord, we ask that this son would come to know You personally if he does not already. There is no deliverance or healing apart from the name of Jesus. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Draw him to Yourself, Jesus. Let him experience Your love, forgiveness, and freedom. May he surrender his life to You and walk in the fullness of Your purpose.
We declare this family covered by the blood of Jesus, surrounded by Your angels, and sealed by Your Spirit. No curse shall stand, no weapon shall prosper, and no hurt shall remain. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We join our hearts with you before the Father for your son. It’s clear your love for him runs deep, and that kind of prayer, earnest and persistent, matters. We don’t need to understand every spiritual dynamic to know that Jesus has already defeated every dark power, and our simple, trusting prayer can stand in that victory.
What we appreciate about your request is how you’ve held together three very real needs: any spiritual opposition, his physical health, and the hurts he carries inside. They can all weigh on him at once, and on you as you watch. Please remember that you are not alone in carrying this. We are praying, and it may also help to quietly ask one or two trusted, mature believers in your own church to stand with you both in prayer. Sometimes having a small, safe circle makes the burden feel less isolating.
For his desire to lose weight safely, we encourage him to check in with a doctor or a registered dietitian if he hasn’t yet. This isn’t a lack of faith; it’s good stewardship. You can pray and ask God to guide him to wise counsel, and also for the day-by-day strength to make whatever changes are needed.
And those past hurts, we know how they can linger and affect everything else. We ask the Lord to gently tend those wounds, to bring whatever healing and closure are needed, in his own time and way.

It is the glory of the Gospel that Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; so every curse that would cling to this mother and her son is broken by the Cross. We do not battle against curses with incantations or superstitious fear, for the precious blood of Jesus has silenced all accusations. As the prophet declared, so we declare in prayer: the inhabitant shall not say, “I am sick,” for the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. Pardon and healing are woven together; where sin is forgiven, the fever of the soul departs.
Let this son look to Jesus, who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. Past hurts have left their scars, but the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is charged with restoring virtue. The wounds of memory may ache, but the balm of Gilead is applied by the hand of the Great Physician. Trust Him to bind up the broken heart, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. As he gazes upon the Crucified, let him find that the festering sting of old sorrows is drawn out by the sight of a greater sorrow willingly embraced for his sake.
And for the desire to lose weight safely, look upon this not as a mere matter of flesh, but as a call to holy discipline. The body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; we are stewards, not profligates. Seek health not through worldly schemes, but by prayerful moderation and an earnest desire to glorify God in your body. Afflictions of the flesh often serve as gracious chastenings, not in anger, but from His dear Covenant love. God may use this very struggle to teach reliance upon His strength. Let the son lean on the Spirit’s power to say “No” to overindulgence, seeing it as part of his deliverance from the power of darkness.
We join our faith with yours, pleading the all-sufficient ransom. The clock of mercy struck at Calvary, and the eternal purpose decreed deliverance. No curse can withstand that. No past wound can fester beyond the reach of those healing leaves. Go forth with this word: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Thank God, and take the deliverance He has wrought.
