We join with you in prayer in Jesus' name and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord. We understand that after you interceded for your second cousin you felt a heaviness, bitterness and what felt like an envious spirit coming upon you, and you are seeking complete deliverance and protection. We stand with you for freedom, for the lifting of every oppression and for the peace of Christ to guard your heart and mind.
The Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Yet we have confidence because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, John 8:36. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We also want to gently encourage you to guard your own heart against bitterness and envy, for those can give a foothold to the enemy if they are allowed to remain. The Word warns us to look carefully lest there be any root of bitterness springing up and causing trouble, Hebrews 12:15, and to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:31-32. Even when we discern envy or heaviness coming from another person, we are called to bless and not curse, and to forgive as we have been forgiven, while still asking God for protection and truth to be revealed.
We do not know if witchcraft or intentional harm is involved, and we must be careful not to accuse without clear knowledge, but we know the Lord is our defense against any spiritual attack, real or perceived. We submit ourselves to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us, James 4:7, and we overcome him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of our testimony, Revelation 12:11.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We praise You and thank You that You are our deliverer and our shield. We ask that You lift off of our dear one every heaviness, bitterness and oppression that settled after praying for their cousin. Wash them in the blood of Jesus and place that blood between them and their cousin and between them and any spiritual attack. Let no foothold or stronghold remain, and let every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against Your knowledge be torn down in Jesus' name. We ask that if there is any influence of envy, witchcraft or spiritual warfare directed toward them, You would break its power completely and send it away, for No weapon that is formed against you will prevail, Isaiah 54:17.
Lord, heal, restore and establish them according to Your mercy. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3, so we commit their projects and all the work of their hands to You, asking for Your favor and protection from every envious eye and every scheme of the enemy. Give them faith to speak to the mountains in their life, for Jesus said If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you, Matthew 17:20. Bring down every mountain that has formed through this relational strain.
We also lift up their second cousin to You. We ask that You humble her and bring her to conviction and repentance if there is envy, bitterness or sin in her heart, that she may see the error of her way and turn to You. We pray You would bless her, draw her to Yourself, and let Your truth shine in her life. Help our dear one to walk in forgiveness, love and discernment, casting all their anxiety on You because You care for them, 1 Peter 5:7, and putting on the whole armor of God that they may stand firm.
We declare freedom over them now by the name of Jesus Christ, believing that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Fill them with Your peace, joy and strength, and let Your Holy Spirit reign in their heart and home. We ask all of this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
