Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join together with you in this deliverance prayer in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for bringing this man before the throne of grace with such compassion and discernment. We agree with you that it is only through the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ that we have forgiveness, healing and deliverance, and we praise God that He hears us when we agree together according to Matthew 18:19.

We are encouraged by your understanding that God has a holy plan for this man's life and that His thoughts are far higher than ours as it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 55:8-9. We also affirm what you have rightly discerned, that when a person strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires he can adopt a false identity rooted in sin, and that God desires to give him a new identity in Christ. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new in 2 Corinthians 5:17. His true identity is not found in sinful relationships or activities but as a child of God, chosen and dearly loved.

We must speak clearly about the sin you have mentioned, for God calls us to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body in 1 Corinthians 6:18. Whether it is fornication which is sex before or outside of marriage, adultery, or any other sexual sin, it separates us from fellowship with God and brings destruction. The relationship with the evil woman you describe is not pleasing to God. The lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol in Proverbs 5:3-5. God ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and any courtship should be with the goal of a godly marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, not a controlling, sinful and hateful entanglement. We also affirm that bad company corrupts good morals in 1 Corinthians 15:33, and blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked in Psalm 1:1, so your prayer to separate him from ungodly influences even in his household is fully biblical.

We also hear your concern that he is controlled, blackmailed and that his life may be in danger. Our God is a deliverer and protector. The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles in Psalm 34:17. Yahweh is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one in 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We pray that he will learn the fear of the Lord, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom in Proverbs 9:10, and that he will choose to depart from evil.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe. We come before You in the powerful name of Jesus and lift up this man to You. Lord, You know him by name and You love him as Your child. We ask that You break his stony heart and give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him as You promised in Ezekiel 36:26. Soften his heart to hear Your voice and to see clearly his true identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the deception of the false identity he has embraced and to the sinfulness of the relationships and activities that have led him away from Your narrow path. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and give him courage to follow You no matter the cost. Lord, we ask that You deliver him from every ungodly influence and separate him from those who would lead him astray, including those in his household. Expose and break every chain of control, blackmail and manipulation, and keep him safe from those who would harm him, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit in Psalm 34:18. Help him to recognize the depth of Your love and the destructive nature of the evil that entangles him. Give him understanding to fear Your holy name, to hate evil and to depart from the evil woman and from every sinful relationship. Help him to submit himself therefore to God and to resist the devil so that he will flee from him according to James 4:7. Wash him clean through confession, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Lead him into purity, into fellowship with believers who will strengthen him, and into the godly marriage and life You have planned for him if it is Your will. We ask that You fill him with power, love and self-control, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our deliverer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for him with steadfast prayer and with the Word of God, speaking truth in love and urging him toward repentance and holiness. Encourage him to seek pastoral counsel, to immerse himself in Scripture, and to cut off every provision for the flesh. We also encourage you to guard your own heart and to trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Keep praying that he will fully surrender to Jesus as Lord, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to the Father.

We hear the weight you are carrying for this man and we are joining you in prayer for him.

Thank you for bringing him before the Father with such compassion, even as a former tenant. It is painful to watch someone you know seem trapped, influenced by relationships that harm him, and unsure of who he is. We appreciate that your heart is for his good and for him to hear God's voice clearly and find his footing again.

One thing that has helped many who pray for a loved one in a confusing season is to remember that a person's truest identity is not formed by past choices, relationships, or the voices around him, but by who he is in Christ. That identity is steady when everything else feels unstable, and it becomes an anchor when he faces pressure from others. We will keep praying that God gently makes that truth real to him and gives him courage to step away from what harms him.

A simple next step that may bring you peace is to keep entrusting him to the Lord in consistent, brief prayer and to keep healthy boundaries in your own role, since the renting relationship has ended. You can rest in doing your part in prayer while leaving the outcome in God's hands.

Father, we thank You for Your love for this man and for the one praying for him. We ask You to draw him close, protect him from harm and controlling influences, soften his heart toward You, and give him wisdom to recognize what is good and to turn from what is evil. Give our friend peace as he continues to pray and trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is a mercy that can reach a man even when the soil slips from under his feet and he is ready to go down to the Pit that is bottomless, and that mercy is found in Christ alone. We join you in bringing this man before the throne of grace, agreeing together that God hears prayer offered in the name of Jesus, and that salvation is in no other.

We pray that the Lord will open his ears and seal instruction upon his heart, that He may withdraw him from his own purpose and hide pride from him, and bring him to look away from himself and away from all false identities and sinful desires, and to look unto Christ. For the word of the gospel is simple, Look unto Me and be ye saved. Not to forms or feelings or works, but to what Christ has done upon the cross, where sin was punished upon the great Substitute and put away forever from all who will only trust Him. May he be brought to trust in that one great sacrifice, and in that moment hear the word, Deliver him from going down to the Pit.

We ask the Lord to grant not a fleshly repentance which comes only from terror and withers in a night, which is skin deep and gives no glory to God, but a true repentance which is the fruit of divine grace. True repentance gives God glory, it purges the soul from dead works and admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. Faith and repentance are inseparable companions, the one pulling down what is evil and the other building up in Christ. Pray that God would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that he would be given courage to depart from evil and to walk in the narrow path, fearing the holy name of the Lord.

We pray also that He who has delivered us from the power of darkness would deliver him. Satan is the prince of the power of the air, and sin has a fascinating power, but Christ is mightier. May the Lord teach him the mischief of loving the world and loosen him from every infirmity and every ungodly influence that would hold him, whether by control or blackmail or threat to his life, and separate him from those who would draw him back into sin. May he be kept from every relationship that is outside the holy covenant of marriage as God ordained it, one man and one woman for life, where alone such union belongs, and may he come to see both the depth of the love of God and the exceeding evil of sin, that he may live and declare the works of the Lord.

We will continue to pray that he will hear the voice of the Lord, find his true identity in Christ as a new creature, and walk in joyful liberty. In the powerful name of Jesus we ask this, trusting that He is able to rescue to the praise of the glory of His grace.
