Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you together in the name of Jesus and we thank our Heavenly Father with you for the cross and for His holy Son who suffered for all of us who believe. We praise His holy name with you and we agree with your intercession for this man who rented his flat to you. We are encouraged that you have come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father and no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written, In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.

We see your heart to see him delivered from a false identity and restored to his true identity in Christ, and we agree that this is the will of God. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. When he entered into sinful relationships and activities and followed his own desires instead of the narrow path, he took on a false identity that is not who God created him to be. We affirm what you have discerned, that sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication and if it involves a married person it is adultery, and both are sin before a holy God. It is written, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. God calls us to honor marriage, for marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. We also agree that any relationship that controls, blackmails and endangers life is hateful and not of God, for God is love and His love does not manipulate or enslave.

We pray with you for his deliverance and for a softened heart. We ask the Father to give him a new heart as He has promised, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. We pray that he will hear the voice of the Shepherd and follow the narrow path that leads to life, for Narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it Matthew 7:14. We pray that the Lord will separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, for Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity Or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14 and that He will place godly people around him who will speak truth in love.

We pray for his protection where he is controlled and blackmailed and where his life may be in danger. We ask the Lord to break every chain and to set him truly free, for If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We pray that he will come to fear the Holy name of the Lord, for The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding Proverbs 9:10, and that by that holy fear he will depart from evil and from the evil woman in his life. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil Proverbs 3:7. We pray he will be subject to God and resist the devil, for Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

We thank God that His thoughts toward this man are good and His plans are to bring him to repentance and life, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

So together we pray, Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing us when we agree in the name of Jesus Matthew 18:19. Lord, You know this man and You love him as Your child. Open his eyes to see the depth of Your love and the deception of the sinful relationships that have entangled him. Break his stony heart and give him courage to turn from fornication and from every ungodly tie, to confess his sin and receive Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash him in the blood of Jesus, make him a new creation, and lead him on Your narrow path. Separate him from the evil woman and from every person and influence that draws him away from You, and keep him safe from all control, blackmail and danger. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, teach him to fear Your name, to depart from evil and to walk in holiness and truth for Your glory. Restore to him a clear understanding of his identity in Christ, that he is Yours, forgiven, beloved and called to righteousness. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

One thing that may help you as you keep praying is to remember you cannot change his situation for him, even when you see the danger. What you can do is keep bringing him to Jesus, keep healthy boundaries, and if you remain in contact, gently point him toward safe, trusted help like a pastor or counselor and the support resources above, rather than trying to intervene directly in a volatile household.

Father, we lift this man to You in Jesus' name. You know his story and his struggles. We ask You to protect him, soften his heart toward You, and give him clarity and courage to seek what is good and safe. Give our friend wisdom, peace and guidance as he prays and cares from a distance. Lead both in Your will and keep them safe. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is a right and faithful prayer and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace for this man.

We have taken your burden to the Lord who alone can deliver from the power of darkness. The Scriptures tell us that He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, and that He can deal in love with a soul even when the soil slips from under his feet and he is about to dash into the pit that is bottomless. Our prayer with you is that the Lord would speak that word over him, Deliver him from going down to the pit, for we have found a ransom.

We ask the Lord to open his ears and seal his instruction, that He may withdraw this man from his purpose and hide pride from him, and turn him from the false way he has taken. We pray not that God would bless or confirm any way that is contrary to His holy Word, but that He would grant true deliverance. For marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that lies outside it is sin before a holy God, and we cannot ask God to prosper what He calls sin. We ask instead that He would give this man a clear and unmistakable sight of his need of Christ and of his true identity only in Christ through the new birth.

We pray that God would grant him not a superficial repentance that only affects the surface and comes from terror alone and withers in a night, but a deep and true repentance that gives God glory. True repentance and faith are inseparable companions. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is the same grace that admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. Any repentance that keeps a man from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of, but the repentance that saves is consistent with looking unto Jesus and trusting His one great sacrifice. There upon the cross the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him.

So we pray that he would hear the simple word, Look unto Me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. That he would look out of himself and away from himself and look to what Christ has done, trusting not in forms or feelings or works, but in the Substitute who bore sin and put it away forever for all who trust Him.

We pray with you that the Lord would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that He would teach him the fear of the Lord which is a fountain of life to depart from evil, that He would separate him from ungodly influences even in his own household, and from every controlling and hateful entanglement where he is held fast. We ask for his protection if his life is in danger, but above all for the rescue of his soul from sin and Satan, that he may no longer be under the prince of the power of the air, but under the gracious reign of Christ.

We will continue to plead for him, that the Holy Spirit would work repentance in him through belief of the truth as it is in the Word of God, that he would hate sin because it slew Christ, and turn from it to live as the holy God would have him live, and find remission of sins in Jesus alone. May the Lord who heard your prayer answer according to His mercy and to the praise of the glory of His grace, and may this man yet live and declare the works of the Lord.

We commend you also to keep watching in prayer with thanksgiving, trusting that what God has spoken He will fulfill, and that none who look to Christ in true faith and repentance shall be cast away. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
