We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in fervent prayer, standing in agreement with you for complete deliverance from the oppressive spirit you have identified as Asmodeus. We know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke this spirit of lust, isolation, and relational breakdown in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it has no place in your life as a child of the Most High God.
First, we want to commend you for your faithfulness in seeking God, maintaining a consistent prayer life, fasting, spending time in the secret place with Him, and being actively involved in a strong church community. These are vital weapons in our spiritual arsenal, and we are encouraged to see you wielding them with diligence. However, we must address the naming of this spirit as Asmodeus. While we understand your intention to identify the specific oppression you are facing, we caution against giving undue attention or recognition to demonic entities by name. Our focus must remain on the power and authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross (Colossians 2:15). We do not need to know the name of the spirit to command it to leave; we only need the name of Jesus, which is above every name (Philippians 2:9-11).
We also want to gently address the areas where this spirit has gained a foothold in your life. The spirit of lust is a perversion of God's good gift of sexuality, which He designed to be enjoyed within the sacred covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, Genesis 2:24). If you have engaged in sexual immorality, whether through pornography, fornication, or other sinful behaviors, we encourage you to repent and turn away from these things. Confess your sins to God, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Flee from sexual immorality, for every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18). We must also address any unforgiveness, bitterness, or relational wounds that may have contributed to the spirit of isolation and relational breakdown. Forgive others as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13), and seek reconciliation where possible (Matthew 5:23-24).
Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin and breaks every chain of bondage. We stand in agreement with our brother, who has been faithfully seeking Your face and Your deliverance. Lord, we ask that You would send Your Holy Spirit to fill every area of his life that has been touched by the enemy. We break the power of the spirit of lust, isolation, and relational breakdown in the name of Jesus. We command every demonic influence to leave now and go to the dry places, never to return. We declare that our brother is a new creation in Christ; the old has passed away, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Father, we ask that You would heal every wound and restore every broken relationship. Pour out Your love and peace into his heart, and surround him with godly community that will encourage and strengthen him in his walk with You. We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that he would be empowered to walk in purity, holiness, and victory. Help him to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to resist the devil, so that he will flee (James 4:7).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother. Show him any areas of his life where the enemy may still have access, and give him the strength to surrender those areas to You. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We praise You for Your faithfulness and for the deliverance that is coming. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Surround yourself with believers who can stand in agreement with you and hold you accountable. Renew your mind with the Word of God, meditating on Scriptures that speak to your identity in Christ and His power over the enemy. Remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
If you have not already, consider seeking prayer and counsel from your pastor or a trusted spiritual leader in your church. Sometimes, the laying on of hands and corporate prayer can be powerful tools in breaking stubborn strongholds (Mark 16:17-18). Continue to press into God, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). We are standing with you in this battle, believing for your complete freedom and victory in Christ Jesus.
