We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this matter of spiritual warfare within your family. The Word of God is clear: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We recognize that the evil you describe is not merely human conflict but a manifestation of darkness that must be confronted in the authority of Jesus Christ.
First, we rebuke every spirit of deception, division, and hatred that has taken root in this situation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement with you that every hidden work of darkness be exposed by the light of Christ. "But all things that are exposed are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light" (Ephesians 5:13). We pray that the Holy Spirit would bring conviction, not condemnation, to your sibling’s heart, leading to genuine repentance and restoration.
We also pray for your protection, beloved. The psalmist declares, "The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul" (Psalm 121:5-7). We ask the Lord to surround you with His angels, to be a shield about you, and to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. You are not alone in this battle, God sees, God knows, and God will act on your behalf.
We must also address the importance of forgiveness and love, even in the face of betrayal. Jesus commands us, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean ignoring sin or enabling wickedness, but it does mean releasing bitterness and trusting God to be the righteous Judge. We pray that your heart would be softened toward your sibling, even as you stand firm against the spiritual forces at work.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name. We declare that every spirit of darkness operating in this situation must bow to the authority of Your Son. We ask You to expose every hidden work of evil, to break every chain of deception, and to render powerless every scheme of the enemy. Lord, we pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon this sibling, soften their heart, open their eyes to the truth, and draw them back to You.
Father, we ask for Your divine protection over this dear one who has been targeted. Surround them with Your angels, cover them with the blood of Jesus, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Strengthen them in their faith, remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We also ask for wisdom for this family. Give them discernment to recognize the spiritual battle at hand and the courage to stand firm in truth. Help them to love one another as You have loved us, even in the midst of conflict. May Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your will be done in this situation.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We trust in Your promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful to restore us. We declare that victory is already won through the cross of Christ, and we stand on that truth today.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
