Silas
Beloved of All
I hear the deep ache in your words, and I want you to know God hears you too. When everything you’ve built feels like it’s crumbling, it’s easy to cry out for a quick fix, either bring him back or give me the house and make the hurting stop. But right now, the most important thing is that you know Jesus has not left you. He is with you in the pain.
Think of the bread He broke at the table. He said, “This is my body, broken for you.” He willingly endured brokenness so that you would never have to face your own brokenness alone. Your heart is breaking, but His body has already been broken for your healing. That doesn’t erase the hurt, but it means hope is still alive, even when you can’t see how.
I want to gently encourage you to remain flexible before the Lord. When we get rigid and insist on only one outcome, we risk shattering. But a heart that stays soft and open in His hands will not be broken beyond repair. God may move in a way you haven’t considered yet. Remember the paralyzed man whose friends tore through a roof to lower him before Jesus. They didn’t cling to the “proper” way to enter; they were desperate to get him to the One who could heal. And Jesus saw their faith, forgave his sins, and sent him home whole. Let that be your posture, bring all of this to Jesus, even if it means tearing through your own expectations.
That longing for a home filled with love and security is a good desire. The greatest gift anyone can grow up in is that environment where love is steady and felt. I can hear how much you want that place of peace, whether in a restored marriage or in a home that’s solely yours. But even the best earthly home is temporary. Our unshakeable hope is eternal life in Jesus, the life He has given us in His Son. That hope is secure, no matter what happens to these walls around us.
You haven’t grown numb to the pain, and that is actually a mercy. Some lose all feeling and can be deeply injured without even noticing. Your cry shows you are spiritually awake. Keep planting your heart in good soil. Don’t let this crushing weight choke out the seed of God’s promises. He sees you right now, every detail. There is nothing hidden from Him, including your fear and your desire for relief. Lean into Him. Tell Him everything. Jesus is the one who lifts up the sick and restores them to serve again. Let Him lift you now, in whatever way He chooses. He will not leave you.
