Disciple of Prayer
Lord, my name is ###. I need to get out of this situation. ### talking about having me removed off the lease. I feel like ### is going to go to the office and try to have me removed off the lease. For ###. Then she told ### that she pay all the bills. So she told him that before. I feel like she was trying to impress him. And she act like she better then me because she got that high paying job. I don't have no where to go. Security told her that she has to wait until the leasing office open to have my name removed. What started it is she kept texting me arguing with me while she sitting outside with him. Like just sit out there and talk to him. I didn't want to meet him. It's like she was trying to rush me to meet him. I need somewhere to go. I ask that you bless me with a place to go. Even if its a temporary place. The elders said that ### told ### that they need to help me find a job. I pray that they help me find a job. I ask that you work this out in my favor. In Jesus name amen.

We hear your distress and the urgency of your situation, and we come before the Lord on your behalf with heavy hearts. First, we want to acknowledge that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your prayer, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We are grateful that you have placed your trust in Him, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and will move on your behalf.

This situation is deeply troubling, not only because of the practical challenges you face, losing your home and needing employment, but also because of the relational strife and pride that seem to be at the root of it. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." It is clear that your roommate’s behavior is driven by pride and a desire to exalt herself above you, even using this man as a means to do so. This is not how believers are called to treat one another. Philippians 2:3-4 says, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." We rebuke this spirit of pride and division in Jesus' name, and we pray that God would soften her heart and bring conviction where it is needed.

We also want to address the way this conflict has unfolded. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." It is concerning that your roommate chose to argue with you via text while sitting with this man, seemingly more concerned with impressing him than resolving the conflict in a godly manner. This is not the fruit of the Spirit, which is "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23). We pray that God would intervene in this situation and bring about a resolution that honors Him, even if that means removing you from this toxic environment.

Your immediate need is for shelter, and we believe that God is your ultimate provider. Psalm 34:10 says, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing." We pray that the Lord would open doors for you, whether through the elders who have offered to help, through a temporary place to stay, or through a sudden opportunity you haven’t yet considered. We also pray for employment, that God would guide you to a job that not only meets your needs but also aligns with His purpose for your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also want to encourage you to guard your heart during this time. It is easy to become bitter or resentful when we feel wronged, but Scripture warns us in Hebrews 12:15, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Instead, we are called to forgive, even when it is difficult. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." We pray that God would give you the strength to release any bitterness and trust Him to handle this situation justly.

Finally, we want to remind you that God sees you, He loves you, and He has not forgotten you. Psalm 33:18-19 says, "Behold, the Lord’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness; to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine." You are not alone in this, and we believe that God is working even now to bring about a resolution that will glorify Him and bless you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our sister in Christ who is facing a difficult and uncertain situation. Lord, we ask that You would be her refuge and her strength, a very present help in this time of trouble. We pray that You would open doors for her, doors of provision, shelter, and employment. Father, we ask that You would work this situation out in her favor, not because she deserves it, but because You are a God of mercy and grace.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of pride and division that has caused strife in this home. We pray that You would soften the heart of her roommate and bring conviction where it is needed. Father, we ask that You would protect our sister from any further harm or manipulation, and that You would give her the wisdom to navigate this situation with grace and humility.

We pray for the elders who have offered to help, that You would guide their steps and give them the resources to assist her in finding a job and a place to stay. Lord, we trust in Your provision, knowing that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides. We ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory.

Father, we also pray for our sister’s heart. Guard her from bitterness, resentment, and fear. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind her that she is deeply loved by You. Help her to forgive those who have wronged her, just as You have forgiven her.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for moving on her behalf. We trust in You, and we give You all the glory. Amen.

###, we have been praying for you since we read your words. It sounds like you are in a very unsettling and lonely place right now, and we are so sorry. When someone you live with turns on you like this, and you face the threat of losing your home and have no place to go, it is natural to feel panicked and afraid. We want you to know that God sees you, and your fears are not hidden from him.

The elders you mentioned are a real gift in this moment. They already know some of what is happening and have spoken about helping you find a job. We would encourage you to reach out to them again, very directly, and let them know just how urgent the housing situation has become. Tell them exactly what the roommate is saying about the lease. Ask them to help you connect with any practical support the church can offer, whether that is a temporary place to stay, a contact who knows of an available room, or help talking to the leasing office so you understand your rights. Many communities also have helplines like 211 (in the United States) that can point you to emergency housing resources and job programs; if you can call from a safe moment, that might open a door quickly.

In the meantime, try not to let her words get inside your head. Her attempts to impress others or act superior say more about her own heart than they do about your worth. You are a child of God, and your value is not measured by a job title or a lease. Our prayer for you is this:

Lord Jesus, you are the shelter for the homeless and the provider for the needy. We ask you right now to make a way for ### where no way seems possible. Calm the fear that grips her, and let your peace stand guard over her heart. Open up a safe place for her to go, even if it is just a temporary landing spot. Stir the elders to be swift and compassionate in helping her find work and practical support. Give her wisdom in every conversation and protect her from every cruel word. We trust you to work this out for her good, for you are faithful. In Jesus’ name, amen.

He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust. The adversary seeks to drive you to despair by this present trial, but remember Job, who in all his losses and bodily torment sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. The hen gathers her brood close, though the storm rages outside, and the warmth of those feathers is not merely shelter, but a holy resting place for the weary heart.

Yet I must press this upon you: let there be no root of bitterness within you toward the one who vexes you. You speak of her ### and her boasting, but what is that to you? The Lord’s way with you is not contingent upon her pride. If Job’s friends spoke harshly of him, he was still called, at the last, to pray for them. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. I charge you, as you plead for a roof and for daily bread, plead also for the soul of her who seems now your adversary. Let your charity be of the heart; weep for her in your prayers, for that will kill the gall in your own spirit.

You are in the house appointed for all living, where trials abound and the frail tent of this body trembles. But do not think this is a strange thing. I have observed that a bow, which naturally loses its force by use, was renewed in Job’s hand. The freshness of grace can sustain you until a lodging is provided, even if for a season it seems you have no certain dwelling. Look to Him for this Divine support. Should it be according to your mind, or according to His? Yield the point unreservedly. Though He slay you, trust in Him. That is faith’s ultimatum.

Hearken now: get alone with the Most High. For though I rejoice with you in the sympathy of the elders, the Lord Himself is your immediate refuge. Job fell down upon the ground and worshipped. Do likewise. Put your cause directly into the hand of the Redeemer, for man’s help may tarry, but the white wing of the Eternal God is stretched out over you this very hour. Pray for employment, yes, but seek first to be hidden in the clefts of the Rock, for you are not a sparrow fallen to the ground without your Father. I am persuaded that however dim the present prospect, the sun shall yet arise with healing beneath His wings, and you shall find again, even in these temporal matters, that He is faithful who has promised. Trust in the dark, and plead the blood of Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The turmoil you describe reveals a heart tossed about by worldly anxieties and human conflict. But consider: why is your soul so disturbed by the threats of a fellow creature? Our Lord said, “Do not be anxious about your life.” You fear being cast out of a dwelling made of stone, yet the true shelter for every Christian is the shadow of the Almighty. If this earthly roof is being taken from you, ask first whether the manner of your living under it was pleasing to God. Did this shared home honor Christ? If the arrangement was not founded on the holy estate of matrimony as the Church teaches, then perhaps the Lord in His mercy is shaking what must be shaken so that only what cannot be shaken remains.

The woman you speak of seeks to impress a man, and her pride in a high-paying job has become a snare to her and a source of strife for you. Envy not her wages, for they are the wealth of this present age, which moth and rust destroy. Your pressing need is not merely a new room or a temporary bed, but a heart set right before the Judge of all. You pray for a place to go; I urge you to seek the eternal mansions by living in repentance and faith. If you are entangled in any bond which Scripture calls sin, flee from it as Lot fled from Sodom, looking not back.

As for the elders who spoke of helping you find employment, go to them again with humility. The body of Christ must care for its suffering members, and honest work is a shield against many temptations. Yet do not wait idly. Rise early, knock on doors, offer your hands to service, however lowly. The apostle commands that if a man will not work, he shall not eat, but the church is charged to aid those truly in need and who walk uprightly.

Do not fix your eyes on the one who troubles you, caught in her own vanity, dragging you into arguments while she sits outside with her companion. Leave her to the conviction of her own conscience. Instead, put your own house in order. Cry to God not merely for a favorable change of circumstances, but for a thorough change of your inner man. Work out this present distress by drawing near to Him in the assemblies of the faithful, in prayer, and in almsgiving according to your ability. If you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things, shelter, provision, a path forward, will be added to you in His perfect timing.

I can hear the weight of uncertainty and betrayal in your words, and I want you to know that your cry for help matters deeply. It is not lost or unheard. The story of Job reminds us that even the most faithful can be caught in storms they never saw coming, where relationships fracture, security vanishes, and the way forward disappears. Job lost his possessions, his home, his sense of safety, and even the comfort of friends who should have stood by him. Instead, they dissected his character and assumed he must have done something to deserve it. That was not true of Job, and it may not be true of you.

What you are facing right now feels like being suddenly cut off while still green, uprooted before you’re ready. The fear of having your name removed, the pressure of having nowhere to go, and the sting of someone acting as if they are above you, all of that is real and heavy. Even when others insist that your trouble must be your own fault, or when every practical door seems shut, your innocence in this situation is something God sees clearly. He knows the difference between a person who is suffering because of their own sin and someone who is simply caught in the complicated brokenness of this world.

Your need for a roof over your head and a job to sustain you is not a sign that God has forgotten you. In the middle of his pain, Job cried out for a mediator, someone who could stand between him and God, bridging the gap. We have that mediator in Jesus Christ. He does not stand at a distance; He has laid His hand on both God and humanity. He knows the desperation of not having a place to lay His head. He hears prayers for daily bread and practical provision.

Do not let the fear of what someone else might do consume you. People spoke falsely about Job, and his own friends became miserable comforters, pushing their own assumptions. You cannot control what she says or does, but you can refuse to let bitterness define your heart. Avoid the trap of matching accusation with accusation. Instead, bring your honest grief before the Lord, He can handle the heaviness that feels like sand of the sea upon you.

It is wise to follow the lead of the elders who are encouraging help in finding a job. That is a tangible step, even if it feels small. God often works through such means. Job’s story did not end with his confusion; when God finally spoke, Job understood that even in the whirlwind, he was never out of God’s sight. The same is true for you. The cloud feels thick right now, but it does not hide you from Him.

Pray for a place to stay, even a temporary one, and trust that God is not indifferent. Do not let the actions of others push you into despair or into charging God foolishly. What looks like a dead end is not the final chapter. Right now, cast your need upon the Lord and take the next practical step you can. He will work this out, not because you have been perfect, but because He is faithful.
