Cure

Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you so much for finding a cure for sickle cell Amenia. First person to be cured now make sure that this goes away and people can be saved. In Jesus Name Amen

We rejoice with you in the medical breakthroughs God has allowed for the treatment of sickle cell anemia, and we lift this situation before Him with gratitude and hope. It is by His grace that wisdom is given to doctors and researchers, and we pray that this cure would indeed bring healing and relief to many who suffer.

Father in Heaven, we thank You for the gift of life and the advancements in medicine that reflect Your mercy. We ask that You would guide the hands of those working to make this cure accessible to all who need it. Let this breakthrough be a testament to Your goodness and a means of bringing comfort to families affected by this disease. We pray that You would remove every barrier, financial, logistical, or otherwise, that might prevent people from receiving this blessing. May Your healing power be evident in the lives of those who are suffering, and may they come to know You as their Great Physician.

We also recognize that true healing comes from You alone, Lord. While we celebrate this medical progress, we acknowledge that all wisdom and knowledge belong to You. We pray that those who receive this cure would not only experience physical healing but also come to know You as their Savior and Lord. For it is written in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."

However, we must address the phrasing of your prayer, dear brother or sister. While we understand the intent behind asking for a "cure" to "go away," we want to gently remind you that sickness and disease are a result of the fallen world we live in, not something God desires to simply "go away" without purpose. Instead, we trust in His sovereignty and pray for His will to be done in all things. We know that one day, in Your perfect timing, You will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more pain or suffering (Revelation 21:4).

Let us also remember that our ultimate hope is not in medical cures alone, but in the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. If anyone reading this does not yet know Him as their Lord and Savior, we encourage you to turn to Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only through His name that we have access to God, and it is only through His sacrifice that we can be saved.

So we pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we have hope and healing. We lift up all those suffering from sickle cell anemia and ask that You would bring them comfort, strength, and healing. We pray that this medical breakthrough would be a blessing to many and that through it, Your name would be glorified. May those who receive healing also receive the gift of salvation, knowing that true life is found in You alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We join you in thanking God for this incredible breakthrough, for the first person cured of sickle cell anemia, and for the dedicated researchers, doctors, and patients who made it possible. We stand with you in hoping and praying that this treatment becomes safe, effective, and widely available for everyone who needs it.

Medical progress like this can feel like a long-awaited answer to so many prayers, and we hold onto hope that many more will experience relief from pain and new freedom. We also remember those still waiting, the families navigating daily crises, the children missing school, the adults pushing through fatigue, and we lift them up with you, asking God to surround them with strength, comfort, and timely help.

A practical step you might consider: look into reputable sickle cell foundations or local hospitals that are helping families with education, support, and access to these new treatments. Even small donations or raising awareness in your community can be a way to keep this momentum going while we pray.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this first cure, a glimpse of your healing power at work through medicine and science. We ask you to guide researchers so that this treatment can reach everyone suffering, and that no barrier stands in the way. Sustain those who are still sick; give them courage, good care, and hope. And through this, draw many to know your compassion and love. We trust this to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Even this cry of thanksgiving bears witness that you look for healing from the hand of the Most High, and it is well that you do so, for every good gift comes from above. Yet let me stir you to a deeper searching of soul. There is a malady more fearsome than any disorder of the blood; it is the dire disease of sin which courses through the veins of all humanity, showing itself in the stone of the heart, the blindness of the understanding, the withered hands that cannot grasp eternal blessings. The physical cure you celebrate is but an outward mercy, and while we rejoice in every token of God’s compassion upon these frail bodies, we must not be content with the healing of the flesh while the soul remains untouched.

Has the Lord healed your body? Let that mercy be a finger pointing to the stripes of Jesus, by which the deeper plague of sin is strangely cured. All of Scripture cries out that we are healed by His stripes; the chastisement that fell upon our Substitute brings peace to the conscience and life to the spirit. If you have tasted the sweetness of bodily relief, oh how much more should you prize the pardon that plucks you from going down into the pit! The well of salvation is open; the Tree of Life spreads its healing leaves on either side of the river. Come and drink, not merely of a temporary stream, but of the Living Water that springs up into everlasting life. Your request yearns that people be saved, so let it be with yourself first. Make certain that you have not mistaken a common mercy for the saving work of grace. To be cured of anemia is a blessing, but to be delivered from the wrath to come, to have the iron chain of sin broken, to be brought forth from Egypt with silver and gold of spiritual enrichment, that is the astounding miracle that causes the harps of angels to ring.

Therefore, turn your thanksgiving into prayerful examination. Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you; be anxious for nothing, but in everything let your requests be made known. Ask not only that this earthly cure might spread, but that the leaves from the Tree of Life might be applied to multitudes perishing in their sin. Yet remember this: no outward cure can banish the one sickness that is fatal to the soul. If you would be saved indeed, flee to the great Physician; His authority is such that the unclean spirits obey, and His blood heals with a matchless medicine. Let not this occasion become a shallow profession like those who, with no sense of sin, follow for a season and then turn back. Lay hold of eternal life, and then with holy carelessness let your soul sit quiet, knowing that your deepest need is met in Him.

You give thanks that a remedy has been found for the affliction of the blood, and indeed it is right to give thanks for every mercy that descends from the Father of lights. Yet take heed: the body’s cure is but a small thing if the soul remains diseased. Did not our Lord say to the man He had healed, “Behold, thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”? For often God heals the outward frame to draw us to the inward healing of repentance.

Do not then let your joy settle only on the flesh; let this visible deliverance lift your eyes to the eternal cure that Christ wrought upon the Cross, the remission of sins. That is the true sickle put to the harvest of death. Pray, then, that this medical gift may be spread abroad, but much more that the word of salvation may run swiftly through the world and snatch souls from the far heavier disease of sin. For what profit is it to have a body whole, yet a corrupt heart?

Let your thanksgiving be the beginning of greater zeal: cry out for the Physician of souls to apply His remedies to you and to all, and do not neglect your own soul while you rejoice for others’ bodies. As the apostles at Pentecost received fire from heaven to heal the nations, so now beseech the Lord to send that same Spirit, that men may be saved not only from bodily death but from the second death. And if you see any still held by unbelief or vice, do not revile them but tend them, as a physician does not cut off a limb but labors to cure it, bearing their burdens. So shall you fulfill the law of Christ and obtain the promised blessings.
