Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (electric shocks) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, skin problems, medical treatments, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for a month, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in prayer, knowing that our God is a God of justice, mercy, and righteousness. Father, we ask that You move mightily in this matter, for Your Word declares in Proverbs 21:15, "When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but terror to evildoers." We pray that the landlord’s heart would be softened and that Your Holy Spirit would convict him of his responsibility to make right what has been wronged.

Lord, we rebuke the negligence and hardness of heart that has allowed this injustice to persist. The electric shocks, the resulting illness, and the lack of safety in the apartment are not merely inconveniences, they are violations of the care and protection that should be provided to tenants. We declare that the landlord’s conscience would be awakened, as Your Word says in Romans 14:12, "So then each one of us will give account of himself to God." May he recognize the weight of his actions, or lack thereof, and be moved to repentance and restitution.

We also pray for healing and restoration for the physical and emotional suffering that has come from this situation. The skin problems, medical treatments, and the stress of finding alternative facilities have taken a toll, and we ask that You bring complete healing and provision. Your Word assures us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We trust in Your promise to restore what has been lost and to bring comfort where there has been pain.

Father, we ask that You would open doors for justice to be served. Whether through legal means, divine intervention, or a change of heart, we pray that the landlord would be compelled to compensate fairly for the harm that has been done. We stand on the truth of Psalm 103:6, "Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed." Let Your justice prevail in this situation, Lord.

We also lift up the spiritual condition of the landlord. If he does not know You, we pray that he would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If he is a believer, we pray that he would be convicted by Your Spirit to walk in integrity and righteousness. May he experience the transformative power of Your grace and be moved to do what is right.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen the faith of the one who has endured this trial. It is easy to grow weary when justice seems delayed, but we are reminded in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." May they continue to trust in You, knowing that You see their suffering and will not abandon them.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our Advocate and our Righteous Judge. Amen.

We hear the ache in your update, waiting a month without any response, while still dealing with the physical pain and the unfair costs you’ve had to carry, can feel deeply demoralizing. Please know that we are praying with you, and we don’t take this lightly.

When prayers seem to meet silence, it’s easy to wonder if God is looking the other way, but His justice doesn’t work on our calendar. The delay isn’t a sign that He’s absent; it’s often where He reshapes our hope, not just for a resolution, but in the Rescuer Himself. Your persistence in bringing this before Him matters, and we’re joining our voices with yours.

In the meantime, we’d gently encourage you to keep caring for your health as you have been, continue any medical treatments and follow-ups, because your body and well-being are important. On a practical level, it might help to keep a written record of all the expenses, symptoms, and any communication (or lack of it) with the landlord. Not only can this serve you later if needed, but it’s a way of entrusting each detail to God while you take responsible, wise action. You’re not alone in this; is there a trusted friend, pastor, or someone from your church who could sit with you and even pray with you in person? Sharing the burden can lift some of the weight off your shoulders.

Now let us pray:

Father, You see every hidden injustice and every secret suffering. We lift up our friend whose body has been harmed and whose patience has been stretched thin. Stir the landlord’s conscience by Your Spirit, bring genuine conviction, remorse, and a willingness to make things right. In the meantime, we ask for continued healing for the skin and any other ailments, for provision to cover the costs that have mounted, and for a sense of Your steady presence guarding their heart from discouragement. Grant them wisdom and supportive people around them, and let Your peace anchor them while they wait. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

The plea rises to the throne of grace that justice might be done, and that a hard heart might be softened. Yet let us take heed that we do not mistake the stirrings we desire in that landlord for the true work of the Spirit. Many a man, when calamity presses or the fear of loss grips him, will sweat with a few qualms of conscience and cry out for relief, only to return to his crooked ways once the storm is past. That repentance is but a morning cloud, a vapor that vanishes when the sun of ease arises. It is not the repentance that gives God glory, nor the fruit that proves the root is alive. True repentance, the kind that needs not to be repented of, comes when a man sees his sin as sin against a holy God, and not merely when he dreads the cost of his wrongdoing. Pray, then, not only that the landlord’s conscience may be awakened, but that the Holy Spirit would lead him to that godly sorrow which worketh repentance unto life. Without that, any outward amends will be but a plaster over a festering wound.

And what of your own soul in this trial? The Great Landlord of us all holds the lease of every breath we draw, and He has the right to enter and inspect the house of your heart at any hour. Are you keeping that house in order? It is a sweet thing to have a conscience sprinkled with the blood of Christ, walking in such guileless uprightness that we can look up without a throbbing of shame. If in this furnace you are driven nearer to the cross, if your own spirit is purged of any root of bitterness, then the suffering itself becomes a servant of your highest good. When conscience accuses us, whether of hard thoughts or a vengeful spirit, we must fly again to Him who is exalted to give repentance and remission of sins. He gives repentance, not to those who can manufacture it themselves, but to those who cry out, “Lord, I cannot even repent as I ought; help me!” That very groan is the first-fruit of His grace.

As for the wrongs you have endured, remember that the Lord seeth all, and His judgment is more exact than any court of man. A clear conscience before Him is better than any coin the landlord might hand over with a grudging hand. Yet it is not wrong to pray for compensation, for the Lord loveth righteousness and hateth robbery for burnt offering. Only take care that your hope be set not on the silver, but on the Savior. Wait upon God with patience; a month is but a moment in His eternal reckoning. The lack of communication and remorse is no proof that He is deaf. Sometimes the silence is meant to teach us that our true treasure is where moth and rust do not corrupt. Continue to ask, for He bids us importune; but ask with both hands open, ready to receive whatever answer serves your soul’s sanctification.

Pray, then, that the landlord’s conscience be stirred, yes; but pray more that he be brought to the feet of Jesus, where only true repentance blossoms. And for yourself, seek that the peace of a cleansed conscience may be your daily portion, so that whether compensation comes or tarries, you may say with the psalmist, “I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.” Thrice armed is the believer who hath that shield, no electric shock can harm the spirit hid with Christ in God.

The injustice you endure cries out like the blood of Abel, and I hear in your words a soul wearied by affliction. Yet take care: the landlord’s silence and lack of remorse are themselves a witness. The unrighteous man, even when he refuses to speak, is already speaking against himself before the tribunal of his own conscience. That faculty, implanted by God, cannot be bribed or silenced. You see no outward payment, but inwardly he may already be suffering the bitterest of all scourges, the gnawing of a soul that knows its guilt and hides from the light. His failure to communicate is not peace; it is the restless slumber of one who dares not face what he has done. Do not think him at ease because he has not yet made amends.

But what shall you do while you wait? Examine your own heart first. You have prayed for a month, and your words carry the sting of disappointment. Are you seeking compensation alone, or are you seeking also that his conscience be awakened? These are not the same prayer. One asks for your relief; the other asks for his repentance. If you desire only the money, your suffering may grow more bitter still, for prosperity gained by injustice becomes a treasure of wrath to the one who hoards it, and your fixation on it can wound your own soul. But if you truly desire his repentance, that he turn from his wickedness and be saved from the judgment to come, then your prayer aligns with the long-suffering heart of God, who endures vessels of wrath fitted for destruction, yet wills that none perish.

Why has God not yet moved him? Because the heart that refuses to acknowledge truth is not easily broken, and repentance that merely speaks with tears, like Esau’s, is no repentance at all if the will remains bent on evil. The landlord’s conscience already accuses him; the Holy Spirit already presses upon him. But God may be giving him space, as He did Pharaoh, that either he will soften under the weight of conviction or fully fit himself for wrath. Your prayers are not wasted. They rise as a testimony against him if he hardens his heart, and they work in you patience and freedom from the poison of resentment. You suffer now, but if you bear it with a clean conscience, you have a glorying that no earthly court can provide, the testimony that you are persecuted unjustly, as the faithful have always been, and your consolation is from above.

Therefore I urge you: continue to pray, but pray first for your own soul, that you not be consumed by the demand for compensation. Then pray that the landlord’s conscience be stirred not merely to pay money, but to repent genuinely, which is far more difficult and far more necessary. The money cannot heal what his soul needs, nor can it cleanse what guilt will do to him if he persists. And if the answer delays, remember that God’s silence is not absence. The Judge of all sees, and His long-suffering is salvation. Let your suffering be offered to Him who endured injustice without reviling, and entrust yourself to the One who judges righteously. Do not let the landlord’s sin become a snare to your own faith.

How heavy it must feel to suffer physically from an unsafe home, to deal with skin afflictions and the constant stress of medical treatments, all while the one responsible for making it right remains silent and unrepentant. The frustration you describe, waiting a full month with no communication and no evidence of remorse, is a kind of suffering that wears on the soul. The body groans under such strain, and the longing for simple justice becomes a daily burden. Scripture never shies away from the reality of life in a fallen world. We live in bodies that are vulnerable, in environments that can harm us, and we deal with the tragic consequences of neglect and wrongdoing. Those ultraviolet problems and physical maladies you’re facing are not a surprise to the Lord who fashioned our frame from the dust.

Your prayer for the landlord’s conscience to be awakened by the Holy Spirit cuts to the very heart of the matter. The real crisis here is not finally about money or repairs, as urgent as those are. It is a spiritual hardness. When someone causes harm and then refuses to acknowledge it, they are walking the oldest sad path of humanity. From the very beginning, when Adam stood guilty, he did not own his failure. He shifted the blame, first to the woman God had given him, and technically, he was blaming God Himself. “The woman You gave me, it’s her fault.” This impulse to point away from our own guilt is a deep corruption. So often today, men and women avoid responsibility by creating a narrative where they are the real victims, or where the person they hurt was a stumbling block. That landlord’s silent conscience is engaged in a dangerous deflection, challenging the justice of God by refusing to do what is plainly right. When a heart challenges God’s justice, refusing mercy and repentance, it stands on treacherous ground.

Yet the hope you cling to is the only sure one. True covering for guilt never comes from our flimsy excuses, which are like trying to sew fig leaves together. They leave us exposed. The covering that lasts must come through sacrifice, a truth woven into the story from the beginning when God provided tunics of skin. Something innocent had to give its life to cover the shame and the consequence of sin. This points us directly to the cross of Jesus Christ. His body bore the ultimate suffering, the marks of which He still carries in glory, a reminder that pain and injustice are fully addressed in Him. Your physical suffering matters to Him. Your longing for the landlord to do good and repent is a request that aligns with how God works. He commands all people everywhere to repent.

The long silence from your landlord may tempt you to despair, but remember that the Lord knows the appointed times. There was a day when Noah entered the ark, and the Lord shut him in. What a glorious truth that is, to be shut in with God’s protection while the flood of judgment falls outside. The wait inside that ark was not without its own challenges, but it was a place of absolute safety. Right now, you are in a place of waiting, and the lack of communication feels like an endless storm. Pour out your complaint to God. He hears the groans of those who are oppressed. Do not let the landlord’s hardened heart become a poison in your own spirit. Instead, keep entrusting your cause to the One who judges justly. We pray not only for your practical compensation and healing, but for that landlord to be confronted by the overwhelming grace and righteous expectation of God, that his heart would be broken and remade, leading to genuine repentance and restitution. May the God of all comfort hold you firmly, and may His justice roll down like water in this painful situation.
