We hear your heart’s cry, and we lift this longing before the Lord with compassion. The pain of separation in love is deep, and we understand the ache of missing someone so profoundly. Yet we must first ask: Is this relationship rooted in Christ? Have you both committed your lives to the Lord, seeking His will above all else? The Bible tells us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this person is not a believer, we must gently but firmly rebuke the pursuit of a relationship that does not honor God. Marriage is sacred, a covenant between a man and a woman who both love the Lord, as Scripture declares: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). If this is not the foundation, we must surrender this desire to God and trust Him to write a better story.

If this person is a believer, we still must examine the relationship through the lens of Scripture. Are you both pursuing purity and holiness? The Bible warns, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If there has been sin in this area, repentance and turning away from it is the first step. God’s design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage, and anything outside of that is not His best for you.

We also must ask: Have you surrendered this person fully to God? It is only through Christ that we find true fulfillment. If you have not placed your faith in Jesus, we urge you to do so now. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Jesus is the only way to the Father, and it is only through His name that we can come boldly before God’s throne. If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we pray you would do so today.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this longing for love and reconciliation. Lord, we ask that You would first draw %23%23%23 close to You, that they would know Your love and surrender their life to Jesus if they have not already. Father, if this relationship is not of You, we ask that You would break any unhealthy attachments and replace this longing with Your perfect peace. If it is Your will for them to be together, we pray for repentance, purity, and a renewed commitment to honor You in all things. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, desperation, or idolatry in this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. We trust You to write a story far greater than we could imagine. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can walk with you through this season. Remember, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). When we delight in Him, our desires align with His, and He will lead you into His perfect plan. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will guide your steps.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We can hear the deep ache in your words, and we’re so sorry you’re walking through this. Missing someone you love with your whole heart can feel overwhelming, and it’s natural to long for their return. In that place of pain, we want you to know you’re not alone, God sees your tears and cares about every detail of your marriage.

While you wait and pray, we’d encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor who can walk with you personally. Surrounding yourself with a few praying friends or a small group can also help you carry this weight. And each day, simply pour out your honest feelings to the Lord; he is close to the brokenhearted and can give you the strength to keep going, one day at a time. Pouring your heart into a journal, letters to God, can sometimes bring a measure of clarity and release.

Father, we lift up this one who is hurting so deeply. You know their longing and the ache of separation. Please hold them steady and pour your peace into their heart. Work in both their life and their spouse’s in the ways that only you can. Give them wisdom about how to love well even in this season, and guard their heart from despair. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That soul of yours is breaking with longing, that ache you feel, that desperate cry for a love to return, speaks of a heart made for a greater, unquenchable love. The craving you pour out for this person is the shadow of a diviner thirst. Before you seek another's heart to fill the void, hear this: the Lord Himself stands ready to be found. "Before they call, I will answer." Even now, as you yearn, He has come near, your very longing is the proof.

His love is an abiding love, not shifting like human affection; He cannot love you more, He will not love you less. Come as you are, hard heart and all, and trust yourself to Jesus. Let the love of Christ be first and full, then, and only then, can any earthly affection be set in its right place, no longer an idol, but a gift held in an open hand. You are not to get half the work done yourself before you come; bring your tangled desires to Him.

He will not disdain your love, poor as it is. Tell Him your grief, but seek Him above all. For the heartbreak that seeks God is sweeter than contentment in any sin-shadowed pleasure. Come, then, and find in Him a love altogether immeasurable.

And when you have tasted that the Lord is gracious, then you may pray, not merely for a person to return, but that God's own wise and loving will be done, and that He would grant you, and them, grace to love Him with all your heart.

You mistake the nature of the thing you seek. This ache, this longing for a presence to return, springs from a root that cannot hold. When love is bound by temporal motives, by the memory of affection received, it is not the love that endures. Insult, loss, envy, a harsh word, and the tie is severed. It finds no root in the spirit. If your love were fixed on Christ, no worldly thing could dissolve it. No calamity, no rejection, not death itself could tear it asunder. He who loves only because he was loved, when he meets something painful, puts an end to his love. But he who is bound by the love of God will never desist, looking only to the ground of his love.

Consider whether you love according to what seems good to God. Does this consuming desire leave room for the fear of Christ? Paul longed to see the Romans with a great longing, yet he did not endure to see them contrary to what seemed good to God. His intense love was mingled with the fear of God. He prayed, and when he was not heard, he gave thanks. He put himself under the all-governing Hand. To love as we ought is to follow wheresoever God leads, not to demand the return of another to satisfy the emptiness within. If we love Christ as it behooves us to love Him, we will punish ourselves when we sin. The pain is not in missing a person, but in having provoked the one beloved. Is your heart broken because a creature has left, or because you are estranged from the Creator? The abyss of God's love came down to you, the middle walls of partition were broken, and yet you fix your soul on a mortal. If your faith were steadfast, your love would be a sign of it, a good remembrance that brings glad tidings, not a wound that foments despair.

Do not do the work of the devil, who tears us asunder from one another to cut off the way of salvation. A love born of passion is a pest, a worm within, a serpent that is never satisfied. Its teeth are fiercer than a lion's, for it devours and never leaves the one it has seized until it sets him near the devil. From no other source does wanton behavior arise than from want of love, true, spiritual love. Drink the potion that kills these serpents: the precious Blood of Christ, the divine Scriptures carefully heard, almsgiving joined to hearing. Mortify this affection that mars your soul. Direct your longing to Him who for your sake died and rose again, that you should no longer live to yourself. Seek your reward from God, for Whose sake you are considered mad by the world. Let your love be for Christ, firm, impregnable, never to be broken.

Your heart is full of longing, and that ache to be reunited with someone you love is real. God knows the depth of that missing, that cry from within. But I want to gently point you to the Source of all lasting love.

We often pour out our hearts asking another person to come back to us, yet the deepest call is for us to come back to the One who first loved us. He is Love itself. His Spirit poured into our hearts brings a love that is not fickle or self-seeking, but a giving, enduring love that transforms us from the inside out. When we abide in that love, our whole perspective shifts.

If your desire has pushed your relationship with God aside, or if you’ve been trying to fill a void only He can fill, then hear Him speak to you now: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.” Return to that first love, that intimate place of knowing Him. He longs to show you the exceeding richness of His kindness toward you, a love so vast it will take eternity to fully grasp.

As for the person you miss, commit them entirely to the Lord. True love is not a frantic grasping; it waits and trusts. King David knew this when his own son’s rebellion drove him from Jerusalem. He let go, saying, “If I find favor, He will bring me back.” He refused to force the outcome, resting in God’s timing and merit. Whether this separation is because of circumstances, misunderstandings, or even disobedience to God’s ways, bring it before Him with open hands.

Be careful that love of another never becomes a love that bypasses obedience. If that relationship would pull you into an unequal spiritual bond or into any path that Scripture forbids, then the most loving thing you can do is to step back and honor Christ above all. Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my words,” and then the Father and the Son will come and make their home with you. That nearness of God is more satisfying than any human embrace.

Spend these days not pleading merely for a person’s return, but asking God to fill you afresh with His Spirit so that His love, patient, kind, and unselfish, flows through you. Let Him heal the loneliness. Let Him refine what you call love into something that mirrors His own. He knows your heart’s cry better than you do, and He will do what is ultimately best. Rest in that, knowing you are deeply loved, and let your soul be still before Him.
