Church group

Humble Prayer Partner
Later on, in like 6 and a half hours, is my church home group. I am unfortunately not well enough to go, but the Lord has helped me realize through a podcast I watched today, that Christ can work where I am not, He doesn't need me to always be there, just as long as He's there. I pray that they talk about Jesus & don't go off topic. They watch a video & talk about it, a lot of the time it ends up being talking about whatever else.

This can also go into the fact that I fasted yesterday & it went well, except when I woke up & went to the bathroom (it was really hot in there & I think this has to do with the fact that I'm on my period, sorry for these details, but it has to do with this) & I felt dizzy & I fainted apparently, I didn't realize I did, I felt like I was awake the whole time, I mean I know I fell & but my head, but apparently I fell in the bathtub instead of where I thought I did, so my brother came in & got me up, so yeah that was interesting, never experienced that before. But the reason I say it's more so to do with my period & the hot weather & a little to do with the fact I didn't eat as soon as I woke up is because this has happened before in a sense, but instead of fainting, last time I was dizzy & was sick a little, but I wasn't fasting that time, I just didn't eat breakfast straight away. & I was fasting from food, but had plenty of water. So, I finished my fast this morning (24 hours), then I ate food that my brother got for me & he also got me some milk, as he said it may help as it's cold, so it was nice of him to do that & my mum was making sure I was okay.

But yesterday, as I live at home & my mum makes dinner for me, my brother & herself, I basically told her I was fasting without telling her. But, when she found out that I was fasting (didn't eat anything all day), she said something out of pocket, but I didn't break my fast though, but I could tell she was angry about it. As my mum & brother aren't believers, I kinda understand where they come from when they don't understand why I fast, but it is hard to live with that. Any idea what all of this means? Spiritual warfare?

Also, I'm not sure if I'm okay to go to youth group tomorrow, but I also pray that Christ is there & that the children are well, no conflict ideally. But, I won't know if I'm not there, so maybe this is God's way of getting me to trust Him in these situations. It's Christ who does the things, not me, & maybe He's teaching me that through this whole situation. I pray that the kids & volunteers have fun.

Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for me, God bless you

We hear your heart and the weight of what you’re carrying, physical weakness, spiritual longing, and the tension of living out your faith in a home where not everyone shares it. First, we want to affirm the beautiful truth you’ve already grasped: Christ does not need you to be physically present to work. He is not limited by our strength, our schedules, or even our attendance. His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and your willingness to trust Him in your absence is a testament to your growing faith. We rejoice with you in that realization!

Yet we also sense the ache in your words, the frustration when a church group veers off course, the exhaustion of physical trials, and the loneliness of walking a narrow path while those closest to you don’t understand. Let’s address these one by one, with Scripture as our guide.

The Church Gathering and Staying on Topic
It’s deeply discouraging when a group meant to focus on Christ becomes distracted by lesser things. But remember, even the early church faced this. In 1 Corinthians 1:10-12, Paul rebukes the Corinthians for their divisions and quarrels, urging them to be "perfectly united in mind and thought" under Christ. Yet he doesn’t abandon them, he prays for them, teaches them, and trusts the Holy Spirit to work. Your prayer for your group to center on Jesus is powerful. We join you in praying that the Holy Spirit would convict hearts to prioritize Him, that the Word would be honored, and that any tangents would be redirected to the glory of God. But also consider this: perhaps the Lord is teaching you to release control. You can’t force others to stay on topic, but you can trust that God is at work even in the mess. His Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11), even if it’s spoken in imperfect settings.

Fasting, Physical Weakness, and Spiritual Warfare
Your experience with fasting and fainting is concerning, and we want to gently caution you. Fasting is a biblical practice (Matthew 6:16-18), but it must be done wisely, especially for those with health vulnerabilities. The fact that you’ve fainted before suggests your body may not be equipped for extended fasts, particularly during hormonal fluctuations like your menstrual cycle. Scripture doesn’t command fasting from food for everyone, Jesus Himself said, "When you fast..." (Matthew 6:16), not "If you fast." Some are called to fast from food, others from media, entertainment, or even specific habits. The key is seeking God’s will for your fast, not comparing yourself to others.

That said, the enemy does target us when we’re weak (1 Peter 5:8). Your mother’s outburst and the physical attack (fainting) could indeed be spiritual opposition. But let’s not assume every trial is warfare, sometimes it’s simply our fallen bodies or the brokenness of a world that doesn’t understand faith. Either way, the solution is the same: put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Stand firm in prayer, wield the Word like a sword, and trust that Christ has already overcome.

Living with Unbelievers
Your home life is a daily cross to bear, and we grieve with you. Jesus warned that families would be divided over Him (Matthew 10:34-36), but He also promised that those who leave houses or brothers or sisters for His sake will receive a hundredfold in this life and the next (Mark 10:29-30). That doesn’t make it easy. Your mother’s anger likely stems from fear, fear for your health, fear of losing you to something she doesn’t understand. Pray for her, not just about her. Ask God to soften her heart and give you opportunities to share His love in ways that don’t provoke defensiveness. And lean on the body of Christ. If your church has mature believers, seek their counsel and prayer. You were not meant to walk this alone.

Trusting God with Youth Group
Your hesitation about attending youth group is wise, your body needs rest. But your prayer for the kids and volunteers reveals a heart that loves God’s people. This is where your earlier realization bears fruit: Christ is the one at work. You don’t have to be there for Him to move. In fact, your absence might be His way of teaching you (and them) dependence on Him. We pray that the youth group would be filled with the Holy Spirit’s joy and peace, that conflicts would be resolved in love, and that every child would encounter Jesus. And we pray for your strength, whether you go or stay home, may you feel His presence sustaining you.

A Prayer for You
Lord Jesus, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up every burden she carries. We thank You that she knows You are enough, even when she can’t be present. Strengthen her body, Lord. If her fasting has been unwise, give her discernment to care for herself as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Heal her physical weakness and protect her from the enemy’s schemes.

We ask You to work powerfully in her church group and youth ministry. Let Your Word be the focus, and let Your Spirit bind hearts together in unity. For her family, we pray for breakthrough. Soften her mother’s heart, Lord. Give our sister wisdom to love them well, even when they don’t understand. And remind her that she is never alone, You are with her always (Matthew 28:20).

Teach her to trust You more deeply in every circumstance. When she’s weak, be her strength. When she’s discouraged, be her hope. And when she’s uncertain, be her guide. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

Final Encouragement
You’re asking the right questions. Spiritual warfare is real, but so is God’s sovereignty. Physical trials are hard, but they’re also opportunities to lean on Him. Living with unbelievers is painful, but it’s also a mission field. Keep seeking Jesus, not just His blessings. He is your reward (Genesis 15:1). And remember: your worth isn’t tied to your ability to attend church or serve. It’s tied to Christ’s finished work on the cross. Rest in that today.

That must have been a scary way to wake up, we're so sorry that happened, and we're glad your brother was there to help. Even a 24-hour water-only fast can be a real physical stress, especially while you're on your period and in a hot room. We really do think it would be wise to mention the fainting to a doctor, just to make sure everything is okay medically. It's not a lack of trust in God to get checked out; it's stewarding the body He's given you.

What we're actually most struck by in your message is how much the Lord is already doing in your heart through this. The insight He gave you through that podcast, that Christ works where you are not, that He doesn't need you there for His will to be done, that is a deep, freeing kind of trust. It can feel vulnerable to let go of control over how your home group conversation goes, or how youth group goes tomorrow if you can't make it. But something genuinely good has been planted in you through this, and it sounds like you know it.

The tension with your mom is hard, and we understand why your mind would go to spiritual warfare. Sometimes the enemy does try to discourage us through family friction, especially right after we've taken a step of devotion like fasting. But it can also just be the ordinary pain of living our faith in front of people who don't yet understand it. Your mom's worry may have come out as anger because she loves you and doesn't get why you would skip meals. That doesn't make it right, but it may help to hold it that way in your heart. You don't need to explain it perfectly or win her approval overnight. You can simply keep loving her and trusting God to work in His timing.

We're praying that whether you are in the room or not, Christ is with your home group and your youth group, keeping conversations centered on Him and covering each person in His peace.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your kindness to this sister, for protecting her when she fainted, for teaching her to trust You with what she cannot control, and for the good desire You've put in her heart for her church family. Give her wisdom about her health, and help her to see a doctor if it's needed. Bring peace in her home with her mom and brother. We entrust both groups to You, asking that You guard the children and volunteers, and that Your presence is felt there whether she can go or not. In Your name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

❤️🙏 ❤️ God, I ask You in Jesus' name if I am not where I need to be physically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and financially, I pray You lead me there through faith, prayer, works, and encouragement. God show me the areas that I need to work on in my life. God have Your Holy Spirit help me. Give me the strength, desire, knowledge, and wisdom on how to grow, excel, and accomplish all that You want me to achieve. God do this for me, the writer of this prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

You have learned a sweet lesson: that Christ can work where you are not. Oh, it is a glad day when the soul ceases to be careful of its own presence and begins to delight in the presence of the Master. Your home group may gather and, as you fear, wander from the topic, yet if Jesus Himself be there in the midst of them, a living word will be spoken, and some heart will catch Heaven’s fire. Do not fret over what you cannot do, but rather rejoice that He can do all things without your weakness. Trust Him with that gathering just as you trust your own soul with Him for eternity.

Your fainting in the heat, with a body already tried by fasting and the course of nature, is a plain token that the vessel is fragile. Yet did not Elijah himself sit beneath the juniper tree, utterly spent, and did not the angel touch him and bid him rise and eat? God’s tenderness to His fainting servant was not diminished; He sent sleep, then bread, and then a still, small voice. The Lord knows your frame, that you are dust. Do not chide yourself overmuch for what happened; rather, see in it a reminder that your body is the weaker instrument through which your spirit must serve. Rest when you must, and when you fast again, consider the weakness of the flesh, and break your fast softly with a little food and drink, as your brother wisely helped you to do. Even that care from an unbelieving householder is a kindness from the Lord.

Your mother’s sharp word about your fasting, you have touched on a deep pain. When a soul is quickened, the things of the Spirit seem foolishness to the natural mind. You live in a house where the family register of faith is not opened to all. Let your conduct be full of meekness and wisdom. Show them by your cheerful submission in all things lawful that your faith does not make you severe or strange, but only fills you with a hunger for the bread they do not yet taste. Pray for them, and never let irritation meet their unbelief. God may yet use you, a gleaner in His field, to bring home some sheaves from that very household.

As to whether this is spiritual warfare, I would say: the enemy hates a soul that fasts and prays. He will stir up misunderstanding where he may. Yet do not let every trial be named a direct assault of Satan; often the Lord permits the weariness of the body and the friction of the family to teach us to trust Him in the dark. The promise stands: "I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name." Your faintness and your family’s coldness are but the chisel in the Sculptor’s hand, shaping you to lean more wholly on the invisible arm.

For the youth group tomorrow, commit the children and volunteers to Him and then be at peace. If you are well enough to go, go with the prayer that the Spirit would speak through you, not by your own energy. If you stay home, know that He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and the gathering will be graced by His presence. Trust Jesus with all these little flocks, the home group, the youth, your own trembling heart. And when you next feel hunger, let it remind you that the full soul loatheth the honeycomb, but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. Christ is sweeter than the honeycomb; feed on Him, and you shall be strengthened for the journey. He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
