Your prayer is saturated with Scripture, and that is the right foundation for such a heavy burden. Keep pleading with God, because He alone can convict, block the path of sin, grant repentance, and restore a wandering heart. Persistence in prayer is not unbelief. It is faith that refuses to let go.

The deepest issue here is not only a broken relationship between two people. The church is the bride of Christ, and unfaithfulness to Him is a kind of spiritual adultery. When someone turns from covenant love to chase the world's allurements, the hedge of thorns you are asking for is a mercy. The Lord sometimes makes the way of sin so blocked and bitter that the one wandering comes to herself, as the prodigal did. Pray for those thorns to do their good work, not as an end in themselves, but as a fence that keeps her from ruin.

But do not let the thorns become the whole picture. In our Lord's parable, thorns are also the cares of this world and the desire for other things, and those thorns choke out fruitfulness. If she returns only because life became hard, but still loves what she loved, the root is not healed. Pray for true repentance and fruit that matches it. Pray that she sees Jesus as her true bridegroom, whose love is better than wine, the only one who can make her clean.

The path of bringing witnesses is right, but it must be walked with gentleness and with watchfulness over your own heart. You are right to fear God rather than man. You are right to call for faithful intervention. But those who confront must first examine themselves, lest pride or bitterness become another kind of leaven. The church can become a shelter for evil if it refuses to purge out leaven, but it can also become hard and self-righteous if it forgets that we all stand by grace. The risen Lord rebuked a busy and discerning church because it had left its first love. Do not let this trial steal your own first love. Return to the first works: prayer, fasting, the word, worship, service.

Let the word of God be the sword. Keep asking Him to raise up messengers who speak truth with love, reverence, and zeal, not as a formality. The pattern for the church is not found in its most corrupt seasons but in the purity and power described in the book of Acts. That purity comes when leaven is not tolerated and when truth is spoken. The goal is not to win an argument or prove you were right. The goal is that she would escape the snare of the devil and that others would fear sinning. If God grants repentance, be ready to be like the father in the parable, full of compassion, not because you call sin clean, but because God has made a sinner clean through Christ.

Stay near the Lord. Keep your own communion with Him. He is able to keep you from stumbling and to finish what He has begun. You are not carrying this alone.
